Free parking and close to downtown! I am a coffee shop regular, but don't drink coffee - go figure! But I do drink tea so that is my goto drink at any coffee shop. I do like Starbucks because they have quality green tea, both hot and iced and you can get it in all locations - makes easy ordering for me. So how to I rate a coffee shop? Location, parking availability, quality of staff and ability to work in the store. In this case, the location was very convenient - I could stop for an hour before my appointment downtown and get some work done. The free parking is always nice. Staff was friendly. While they have adequate seating, it was not easy to find a spot near an electrical outlet and the noise level was a little too high for my taste. Came here after being completely disappointed with the seating selection of the HQ location. Glad I did. Despite being the Starbucks where anyone and everyone who works in SODO gets their coffee, there was seating available. Despite the long lines, it went quickly. There was a nice selection of extras to entice you in line, and friendly baristas to fashion your caffeinated fancies. I'll be back whenever I need to have a little coffee chat time again. read more

When I give 4 stars, I'm reviewing primarily on the service. Let's be honest - Starbucks, like any successful food / beverage chain, prides itself on consistency. A Starbucks Mocha tastes like a Starbucks Mocha whether you're at the original down at Pike Place Market or at a cafe in Guam. I'm in the band Stay Tuned (www.staytunedtheband.com) and we practice a few blocks away in SODO. This Starbucks happens to be directly along my route to the studio so, every Monday and Wednesday on my way to practice, I stop through the drive-thru (Yes! They have a drive-thru!) to get a nice cup of caffeine to loosen up my vocal chords and quench my thirst for an evening of screaming the theme from "Charles in Charge". I usually snag a Caramel Macchiato (Non-Fat in case you're interested in being just like me. And really - why would you want that, you heathen?). Their service is always speedy - even when there's a line at the drive-thru. In fact, one time they took more than like 5 minutes to get my drink to me and gave me a card for a free drink next time. Pretty cool. The people who handle the beverages and cash at the drive-thru window are always cordial. One time, one of the lovely ladies greeted me at the window and then proceeded to ask me if anyone had ever told me I looked like the guy from the movie 'Sideways'. Some might find it insulting to be compared to a chubby, unattractive, balding dork. But not me. I've been called much worse. Please try the veal. read more

To paraphrase Yoda, customer service is great in this one! I have come here numerous times over the last year since I used to work a block away and have always had a 5 star experience. On July 12th of this year, they topped the cake! I was in the area with my fussy 7 week old and pulled into the drive thru to order a caramel frap to help beat the heat. As I pulled up to place my order a car drove into the single lane going the wrong way and blocked me. I tried to yell to them that this was a "drive thru" not "driveway" but she wouldn't move and actually made motions that she wanted me to back up to let her though. By this time, my infant was screaming and I dug in my heels - after all, it's the principle right? The barista over the intercom asked me what was going on so I explained the blockage. They had someone come out right away and made the woman in the other car back up so I could pull through, collect my drink, and be on my way so that hopefully my baby would resume his nap. When I tried to give them my card to pay for my drink she told me that this one was on them for having to deal with the whole ordeal. So nice!! read more

Not all starbucks are the same! this is one of my favorites mainly because of the convenience to my work and excellent service. despite the typical long lines in the mornings, the drive through has always been tolerable, and the baristas always greet you with a smile at the pick-up window (makes me feel good about buying an overpriced cup of peppermint mocha). don't know how they do it, but the they're definitely keeping up with the crazy early birds like me :) thanks starbucks for helping me kick the day off right! read more

I like this Starbucks because of the fact that I can usually find a seat here and it's not super over crowded. I generally get a quad-shot espresso which is hard to mess up but I really wish they had a better variety... The blonde roast us what basically saved them from a 3 star review to a 4 star review. This place is notorious for getting your drinks wrong in the drive through. Make sure they hand you the correct drink before driving off otherwise you will have to wait another 15mins in line to get the drink they should have gave you in the first place. read more

I stop on my way to work every single morning like clockwork! I order on my mobile and within 5 mins my Trenta Peach Green Iced Tea and breakfast sandwich are waiting ready. The baristas are always friendly and fast. The location is perfect and is always tidy on the inside. The wifi works great. And most important to me, is that they always get my drinks spot on! It kind of sucks that I can't always get the same product every time from all locations. But I know where I can get it right! read more

I know most Seatteites like to stay within the local coffee scene but I come to this Starbucks every Tuesday morning for a work meeting and time and time again the service is impeccable, everyone is friendly, and they are constantly offering free samples of new drinks or delicious food. I really don't write reviews on bad customer service a lot but this time I just had too many issues. Today we can through the drive through 01/13/19 @ 1:51. The girl on the intercom already sounded very irritated taking my order though there were no cars in front of me. I ordered two drinks and two food items. When we reached the window she took our card and charged us but never returned the card. I had asked for almond milk at the window but it was made with skim milk (sure no problem). Then She hands us the two food items and we tell her we're still waiting for one drink. She gets mad and asks which drink it is and then tells us the price and is waiting for our payment (which she still has on her desk!). She makes us the drink hands it to us without even an apology. finally we leave just thinking ok maybe she's not having the best day but when we get home I find our egg bites were just thrown into a bag. That's when I lost it and came here to write this. I don't want to call the store for her name but this worker needs to be addressed. read more

I frequent this Starbucks with my afternoon carpool. We always use the drive thru. Sometimes, our drinks are quickly made and the baristas are quite friendly. However, more often than not, our drinks take quite awhile and the service is not very friendly. Like other reviewers, this is a huge disappointment so close to corporate. Perhaps use of secret shoppers and further professional development would make the experience more consistent. The morning Starbucks in my life (in Federal Way) has a much better reputation and much more consistent pleasant experiences. read more

The staff at this Starbucks goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. They always greet you with a smile and it makes a huge difference. Once they were out of pike and they complimentary gave me a blonde as a sign of making up for it- which was completely unnecessary but so so appreciated. i got a tall salted caramel hot chocolate. it tasted pretty good. lots of sugar. hot. and i sucked the entire thing down in about 30min. we went in there to have a meeting. it was louder in there than we expected, so we went out to the chairs and tables on the patio area right outside the main entrace. where it was quieter for the type of noise that was inside the store, it was definitely louder for cars, motorcycles, trucks, big trucks, really big trucks, planes, and jets. some of the transportation noise completely drowned out what people were saying at some points. and the chairs and tables were covered with a lot of dirt and bird poop. read more

Okay, so this location is interesting. Like the other B-town Starbucks, the drive through is a complete disaster. There is not a lot of room to pull in and the line jams up the parking lot. It's also very hard to pull in and out of this location. The good hung about it is that it has a ton of seating, and it's very spacious. Perhaps, just perhaps the service and standards of this store are so low because so much of the time, energy, and attention of the store manager is spent courting her coworkers. Perhaps if she and her 'next in charge' spent more time focusing on the needs of the store rather than a burgeoning love affair the whole works would run smoother. Perhaps, but doubtful. Starbucks has policies against such relations for exactly this reason. The little girl wasn't asking for it and could have waited until they got to the front of the line and Luis could have just left but he didn't.
