There is ample seating and a long bar for you to view food options, order your drink, and further down grab your order. On this visit I chose to order in store. The young woman working the register greeted me as I walked through the doors. As I waited at the register looking over the menu she kindly asked me to give her a minute as she was getting danishes out of the oven. No problem. They were clearly busy with the morning office workers grabbing their coffee. Wait was short and I placed my 3 orders. I wish I took down her name because she had such a positive vibe and spoke to every person that entered and exited. Overall a good visit. Drinks were made quickly and correctly. One barista asked us if we were part of the group currently being served. When we said "no", he called us over, not to help us at the empty register, but to move us from one side to the other. Another barista snapped at a woman for grabbing a straw from the counter instead of getting one from the counter on the far side of the store. They took ridiculously long making orders. They moved with no urgency. There is a huge spider and spider web above the long table where people sit. If you don't have 30 minutes or more to wait, would not recommend. read more

An oasis for a traveler/vacationer. Disappointed they weren't open in evenings. Town has to do something about the overwhelming homeless population. It's quite a distraction from the charm of this historic town. Great staff here though. (Typical of this chain I suppose.) This group really seemed to enjoy their work though. However the other two in the area weren't as well staffed or managed as well imo. read more

I drink the kool-aid... well really I drink the coffee!!! I am in my happy zone at pretty much any Starbucks. I love the vibe of this location. Location on Broughton and Drayton Street. The baristas are friendly. I usual do a mobile order and it's always ready when I walk in. The bathrooms are impeccable. There are usually a lot of SCAD students in here and I love the vibe they bring with them. Drinks and food always on point. Like I said, I'm hooked. The employees are always very nice, but this location always has homeless people inside and on the sidewalks outside. There is a woman with a baby who sets up inside every day. I know the staff have compassion, but this is not fair to that baby. I have been watching this sad situation for 6 months and have called child protection services, but she is still there with the baby in a stroller and several half used baby bottles surrounding her. I will no longer patronize this location as it makes me feel complicit in child neglect. read more

But have no fear, in true Starbucks fashion, they opened a shiny new location one block down the street at the intersection of Broughton and Drayton. Phew! The new Starbucks might seem small when you first walk in, but it is a narrow store with a long bar and ample seating throughout. The interior is visually appealing with a marble bar, wooden floors and leather seats. I love the large communal table in the back with plugs and USB ports built in. It's a great space to work with their free Wifi! Pro tip: download the Starbucks app on your phone and order via mobile to skip the line! Sometimes I even do this when I'm already at the store because #lazy. read more

This has happened to me at other Starbucks but finally decided to call them on it. Sorry for the bad review but how hard is it to provide two hot coffees with cream and sugar in a reasonable amount of time? I say reasonable as in 5 minutes or less for a plane cup of coffee with some cream and sugar. That's like three things you have to do; pour coffee into cup, pour cream into cup, put lid on. I mean that's your core business, Right? You do it all day. You should be good at it. So.. The cashier was friendly... no issues there and there's your one (1) star not-so-star-ish Starbucks. That was the only positive. What was so puzzling was after putting our order in, the cashier could have quickly poured our coffees, splashed some cream and sugar in (while I was paying with my credit card) and we'd been on our merry way. Instead, she poured the coffees, stopped, and took eight (8), yes eight more orders. There wasn't a line backed out the door mind you, it was customers just walking in one after another. Wait - what? I mean, why should I be on those people's schedule? I've got a meeting to make and just want a couple of coffee to go. I digress. 15 minutes later (and just before I was going to ask for my money back), there was a break from people coming in the door (as I'm sure she would have taken six more orders if not), She finally got around to pick up our two coffees sitting on the counter and poured cream into them. That literally took 15 seconds (I counted). We waited 15 minutes for that! That's insane. Minus 3 stars and I'm being generous. Since the coffees were sitting out for 15 minutes, guess what... wait for it... wait for it...they get cold. No advanced degree needed to figure that one out. Minus two stars. Then they forgot the sugar... not surprising someone would forget after 15 minutes. minus 1 star. This place was not busy and had adequate servers (3) on a lazy Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm. This approach Starbucks takes is stupid. It's like they hold your money hostage until they decide when it's best for them (not you) to get your already paid order. Starbucks arrogance at its best. Looking at the reviews at this store, I'm not the only one who thinks this. One other thing I learned... I will never... ever... pre tip at Starbucks again. It pretty arrogant to ask for a 18% to 24% tip for pouring two cups of coffee to begin with. It's another to pre-tip 20% and get crummy service. At one time (a long long time ago in a distant coffee galaxy far far away) you could count on Starbucks good service and not think twice about pre tipping... not anymore. My apologies going forward to those Starbucks workers who work extremely hard but are just following Starbucks dumb procedures. I'll look for a tip jar next time. Normal Starbucks, nothing special. Service was ok and food came out relatively quickly. They were out of almost everything so had to change my order multiple times. Rory Brown the district manager was insanely mean to the employees and a bully to anyone who doesnt comply to what he believes is "standard". The "standard" being boring uncreative bureaucratic dictatorship. Put in a mobile order for a warmed danish and an iced latte with cold foam on top and received cold danish still in the plastic packaging. When asked if I could get the danish warmed the employee said "what is it?" rudely and I told her it was a danish I wanted warmed. She walked back with it by handing it to me saying "here" without receiving an apology. I proceeded to wait for my coffee and when I saw it was finished i realized there was whipped cream on top instead of the cold foam I asked for and paid extra for. At this point I didn't bother to say anything else to avoid more terrible customer service I had already received. I move around so often that I am never a "regular" at local establishments so I was pleasantly surprised when the partners at this location started to greet me by my name, remember my usual order, and occasionally hand my drink to me instead of leaving it on the counter and calling out my name. The staff at this location have made me feel very welcome in their store. Not to mention, my drinks always come out perfect! I look forward to every visit. I had to take off one star for the homeless people crowding the shop. I've gotten nauseous a few times from the smell while waiting in line. Plus they do take up quite a bit of seats. I just have to say, the employees here are AWESOME! Leah was the cashier when I came in. There was this really rude woman who was in front of me who I almost told her to leave because she was treating the employees so poorly.... I just have to commend Leah for keeping a smile on her face and being so kind regardless of how rude the woman was to her. Props to her manager for stepping in and reinforcing the hard work Leah was doing to satisfy her guest. We need more people like Leah l, and the staff here! If I could, 10/10! They have over stressed workers overly using guidelines to push customers through lines and worrying about the amount of people in the store more than getting people their orders to get them out of the store happy and safe. I came two days in a row to give them the benefit of the doubt but they can't seem to even function like a normal star bucks. If you are hoping to come in and work at any Savannah starbucks then you might want to chose somewhere else. I was hoping this new one wouldn't be as bad as the one on Bull street but of course it's turning into the same situation. The same homeless people always come in and sit in the same spots all day and spread out all of their belongings and take up all of the plugs. They sit and watch movies on the WiFi and don't even buy anything. This morning I came in to work and we had to leave because all of the spots were taken up and one man was even eating his McDonalds breakfast and coffee. Nothing is done to fix this issue. It just sucks to pay upwards of $12 for a coffee and sandwich and then not even be able to sit and enjoy it because the entire homeless population of Savannah is setting up camp. read more

I spend a lot of time at this location and have been coming here regularly for 3 years. Everyone that works here is as nice as can be and work hard to make the customer happy. The only time people are ever unhappy is when they come into the store with a bad attitude and start treating the baristas like slaves. Y'all, without the baristas there you wouldn't have Starbucks. If you are in such a rush every morning 1) leave home earlier to compensate for the time it'll take to go and get a drink from Starbucks or 2) buy yourself a Keurig and make your coffee yourself. Don't be rude to the baristas just to feel better about your egos. The workers here are awesome and, given the amount of foot traffic they get hourly, pump out the drinks at a timely manor. Plus, they always say that if you aren't satisfied with the drink then to let them know and they'll remake it (though I hardly ever hear this complaint unless it's with a miscommunication on the customers part). I love this Starbucks and I love spending time in it and being able to talk to the workers because they all have genuinely cool personalities. Happy Sunday to the barista with the Pink Hair -- more importantly thank you for starting mine off on the wrong start. A iced chia tea with coconut milk is half chai tea, half coconut milk and ice. It is never chai and water filled to the top with some ice. After explaining that I felt it tastes wrong I got an eye roll and a redo in which was made the same way. I then explained as you were filling the cup that it wasn't made with water. To which resulted in you throwing the cups in the sink splashing I and the guests waiting for their drinks. What happened to the sign that simply said, not satisfied? We will make it again! In a town centered around tourism and guest experience I will no longer spend my money here. A $6 drink that is a daily habit will be spent at the Bay Street location where I am appreciated and treated with respect. read more

Nothing like taking your boyfriend to Starbucks for the first time and being treated worse than garbage. The barista with the short, dark hair dyed green in the back made a latte wrong (I didn't mind, happens all the time), so I politely said, "Oh, sorry, I asked for this iced." She proceeded to sarcastically say something like she'd put it at the end of the orders, followed by several other rude comments. She started slamming things around and splashing stuff in the sink. I told her to forget about it. Then, knowing I could hear, she gossiped loudly behind the counter with her coworker and said the meanest things about my boyfriend and me. I was almost crying. She sarcastically and loudly told the other customers that she'd remake any drink they wanted, and that of course she wouldn't mind. I've never posted a review, but this was the worst experience I've ever had at Starbucks, or any other place for that matter. I'm a barista, so I understand the stress during Christmastime; however, I've never been treated with such contempt and disrespect in my life. Boyfriend never wanted to go to Starbucks ever again after that. Stinks that that was the employee we had to have. Wouldn't be surprised if she has other complaints. :) read more
