This Starbucks is indeed down on the Baggage claim level of Terminal 3 as Michelle M. states. It is not by a Food Court in Terminal 3 as Shirley N. speculates. One of the worst Starbucks ever. It's at the International Arrivals terminal, right by the airporters&limos. There isn't a real dining area, just glorified benches. The dining area itself was filthy- empty cups, dirty napkins, you name it. Wasn't sure if it was the fault of the Starbucks staff (who seemed overwhelmed&understaffed) or SFO housekeeping. I ordered the green tea Frappuccino with whipped cream. It was delicious&refreshing, especially at the end of a long, stressful cross-country flight. I also got the blueberry yogurt muffin. The staff was genuinely good- they warmed the muffin (they asked first) This Starbucks has great employees, but their limited menu&filthy dining area didn't help. Starbucks has to compete with Peet's Coffee at this airport for prime spots. I was wanting that new Sweet Cream Cold Brew coffee and lucked out finding this out-of-way Starbucks downstairs. I had just used the kiosk to print my boarding pass and asked at the Info Desk if there was a S/B any place close? Lucky for me, there was. However, what this place lacks is the congenial customer service usually afforded to most java junkies who frequent Starbucks. I have never heard of coffee (which is a food item) being taxed but here it is. Also, though you may have a gold Starbucks card, which I do, you are denied free refills, which are your privilege. Try explaining that to the Filipino baristas and they don't care. The answer is no. Since I am not one to throw my weight around, except in the most dire of circumstances, I let this one go. But I was not a happy camper and privately vowed to seek my vengeance here on Yelp. So beware to SFO customers looking for anything beyond the most basic of coffee retailing here. If I could give this Starbucks a zero, I would. My son and I each got the double smoked bacon breakfast sandwich. One half was piping hot the other half was still ice cold for both of us. My venti vanilla latte was luke warm. I have gotten subpar service from this location before. People should take pride in their work. Cons: - They don't have tables at Starbucks, but there are some chairs nearby in the baggage claim area. - They do not serve warm sandwiches (such as slow-roasted ham&cheese one). Thus, ordered S'mores frappuccino and morning bun. - There is NO WAY for heating the pastries. - My morning bun was not fresh. - There was a little fly in the pastry fridge :). Went to this Starbucks to relieve my itchy throat. I usually get the Tazo Refresh Mint tea. When I ordered it, the barista was a little confused. She thought I wanted a refresher. Wow what a pleasant surprise to find this Starbucks after being mislead as to the location of the other Starbucks at SFO by most of these Yelp reviews. First off, what a pleasant experience, even with an extremely long line the baristas were warm and welcoming to everyone in line acknowledging us and thanking us for our patience. (Side note) That never happens at my home Starbucks :( I ordered a Treinta Cool Lime Refresher, Venti Blonde Roast and a cheese danish. Everything was fresh and tasted perfect. Even though it was late in the afternoon and they stopped brewing blonde they offered to do a pour over for me which made me feel extra special. The baristas even came out to hand me my pour over with a smile and wished me a good day! Only downside is that they don't do free refills but the manager on duty explained to me that they don't participate in the refills policy because they are a license store owned by HMS. The only complaint I have is their table for napkins, sugar etc and the area to pick up your order are both untidy on not just one but on numerous occasions I visited that Starbucks location. I am not sure why but there seems to be a trend in the Starbucks in airports regarding cleanliness and service. The common area at this location can look like a hurricane hit leaving the place dirty and a huge mess. The counter which provides creamers and milk and sugar is almost always filthy. The seating area is inundated with used paper, napkins and cups. The service is not pleasant and most of the time there is only one person making all the drinks and heating foods. It takes too long.
