Walking in the Financial district makes you wonder, where did all of the people go? It also makes you think, if a car pulls up abruptly, you better be ready to haul arse. It was kinda creepy as we made our way to Starbucks (just directly across the street from Transamerica. Although walking around at 10:00 a.m. decreases the probability of getting stuck up, you can never be too careful. Finally ducking into this Starbucks location, you'll notice plywood on the front door. A bit disconcerting but the friendly employees were disarming. Reassuring in a way, they asked me how I was and where I came from. I like that, people talking to me, human being to human being. These employees were extra friendly. The caramel macchiato, hot,venti was superb and we couldn't stick around too long because I needed to get my 10,000 steps. They say that Transamerica is being remodeled and are hoping for more foot traffic. But with everyone working from home and owning espresso makers, I don't know if we'll see that any time soon. Hope they are able to stay open and fix that front door. They were also fully stocked with wonderful pastries and baked goods. read more

What a great morning that turned into a literal nightmare! Kendall was so rude and unprofessional to me it's unimaginable. I come here almost weekly and Im always greeted with a smile and friendliness from the normal baristas. This lady has me standing there for mins staring into space and fidgeting on the register. Never once greeted me or asked me if I'm ready to order at all. Im so confused because she is looking past me while Im waiting for her to be ready for my order. I asked her are you busy, she very Rudely now directs her glare to me and says " I'm waiting for YOU"! Im like excuse me you never once even acknowledged me!!!! Never once does she say " Oh Im sorry or my apologies" she repeated again "I'm waiting for you". I was so thrown off i simply placed my order and watched her throw my bagel in a bag and toss it in the oven super aggressively!!! Even her coworker was looking at her like what is your problem! I have never received this horrible service! This Girl KENDALL should NEVER be the first face people see in the morning to start their day! This is by far my favorite Starbucks! It's a great location for locals who live nearby and for tourists. It's right across the Transamerica Pyramid and the newly remodeled Park! You can enjoy your coffee inside, or on a nice day take it to the park across the street. Best of all are the staff who are all so nice, friendly, competent. You never have to wait too long for your drink at this location and it always tastes perfect! I know Starbucks has closed a lot of locations in San Francisco over the years, and even continues to do so now. But it would be a huge loss to the neighborhood if this one ever leaves. So this is a solid Starbucks with good service and location. There is a catch!!!!!! For past 3 years, I have been trying to get a cup of tea with little ice. ( that's two tea bags submerged in hot water, and some ice on top; that's it). I don't know how my communication is getting lost or transcribed but I have been receiving one of those refreshment tea which is a mix of lemonade with tea and other flavors with ice :))))))) for years! I am reviewing this for the amazing staff. I was here yesterday (Sunday) around 2pm and this little Starbucks had a massive amount of people inside. I have never seen a coffee shop that busy before. They had so many orders but all worked together and got people drinks in a reasonable amount of time. My drink was ready so much faster than I expected. I was really impressed. The execs in Seattle are managing scared because they are afraid to be wrong. So they do nothing, following the CEO philosophy, if you do nothing you can't be blamed. Was walking in the area on President's day and felt the urge for some caffeine. Saw the Starbucks across from the Pyramid building and hoped that it was open considering it was a holiday and FiDi was pretty quiet. Yep, it was open. Yes, gonna get my caffeine. What surprised me was that they quite crowded in that most of the tables were taken. After ordering my cup of Starbucks, I took was able to park myself at a vacant bar table to chill with my cup of Joe. This Starbucks was large, modern, and spacious. The counter/barista area is in the center of the store. There were about a ten bar stools surround two sides creating a bar-style setting. There were about a dozen tables on the side of the store, a mixture of regular and bar style tables. The crowd were a mixture of families, tourists, gentlemen playing chess and some of with laptops utilizing the free Wi-Fi. Overall, a nice large and spacious Starbucks for your caffeine fix. Favorite Starbucks in FiDi! I come here in the mornings almost every other day (I should probably lay off the coffee...) and get a blonde roast or medium roast if they run out of the blonde roast. Yes, one time I came here at 8:15 AM and they ran out of blonde roast (everyone else probably also discovered the amazing blonde roast at this location). Needless to say, that was not a great day for me. But most of the time they are pretty good about having it freshly brewed and ready, and the staff here is ALWAYS so chipper and happy in the morning despite their early hours! I also love the petite vanilla bean scones (I guess this is more of a shoutout to all petite vanilla bean scones across all SBUX locations). In fact, I have a very unhealthy obsessions with these little guys, and it doesn't help that you can buy three at a discount. But all in all, I'm always really disappointed whenever I go to a SBUX and they run out of the petite vanilla bean scones (as it happens all the time). However, that's never happened to me so far at this location, and they always taste very fresh! Other places will sometimes put out day-one vanilla petite bean scones, and I can definitely taste the difference. read more

I have been a regular customer in the 6AM to this Starbuck's for some time. I spend over $40 there every week. I always get a Venti coffee with two raw sugar and extra cream. This morning, I ordered my coffee and a sausage breakfast sandwich. I sat there with 4 people behind the counter and not many people in the coffee shop and I had to leave after 11 minutes without my coffee or food. I don't have a long time to wait, I have to get to my job. So I lost $7.90 and did without breakfast because people working behind the counter had no regard for me. Just wanted to get something off my chest. This happened years ago before the Philadelphia fiasco. So I was at this particular location when they had the mooncake festival. I ordered my drinks and sat at a table for a good ten minutes. When I got up to use the restroom I noticed that the men's restroom was out of order and asked the barista stocking the shelves if I could use the ladies' restroom instead. She told me I had to be a customer in order to use the restrooms. I was in complete shock, was it because I was Asian. Didn't she see me with their drinks. Instead of going ballistic on her. Also, the bathroom is relatively clean, and the temperature is usually comfortable. EVERY time I have come to this Starb, my drink is not made correctly, even when it is written correctly and clearly on the cup. It says NO FOAM on the cup and the drink I have in my hands right now? Foam is in HALF of my latte. This is far more unacceptable in my eyes than when they write it down incorrectly, because to me, this shows laziness. The barista did not bother to take the time to read the cup. Making drinks is the very essence of Starbucks, so not reading the cup makes the business not viable. I know what a good Starbucks is like, and this one is NOT one of them. Skip it. There are too many good ones to waste your time and money here. read more

I'm not a big Sbux fan but the staff was great and got me to try their Dark of the Day (Friday 22 Oct 2010), can't remember the name of it, but it was 100% organic and Free Trade Certified coffee. She was nice, but the place was dirty, no place to sit as there were newspapers and people spreading out their computer bags and nobody could share tables, and and it was towards the end of the business day. I was able to grab a seat so my friend and I could enjoy a quick chat and java. But I was happy as it was a Friday. If the place were a bit cleaner and seating wasn't so "reserved" then I'd give more stars. But he staff raised it to a 3 star rating. read more
