Recently went here with a friend and her child. The baby is 2 years old and was clearly happy playing while waiting for the drinks. I felt weird vibes from the male barista giving us dirty looks. As we were leaving Adam the barista clearly turned to another woman barista and was talking bad about us as soon as we left and I just stared at the whole thing. The reason I know he was talking bad is because he has a very animated personality. I went back inside and asked his name which he replied Adam and I told him I will be writing a review and he and the woman barista looked caught. It's fine not to like young kids but it's not okay to be rude and nasty about it. Since when do you have to stand up for a toddler? This was a hurtful interaction due to the fact that me and my friend are people of color. He was nice to everyone else and had attitude with us. read more

This place used to be a jumping busy place. Whom ever made the decision to take away the seating and tables knows nothing about business. The error they made was to not let the free loaders use the WiFi all day long. These were the same people every day with their laptops plugged into the wall. While it's nice to see a newly remodeled store, it's also very sad to know how this spot used to be 24 hours and was full of people studying overnight. I recall cramming for exams here at 2am with lots of teas and coffees. It used to be one of the few late night hang out spots too. The new look has no tables or chairs whatsoever, only one entrance now, with half of the store being the counter/kitchen area, the rest is for a potentially long line. It no longer looks welcoming like before, but it looked cleaner with its new look. From what I've heard, this new style has been applied to a lot of Starbucks in DTSF. I wasn't expecting it to happen here too. How the times have changed.... read more

This is a walk-up location in Tanforan Shopping Mall. We met Adored Grandson there as a last chance time to spend time together when we visited the Bay Area last month. His girlfriend works nearby, and it's close to the freeway, so it was a great place to meet and sit down for a chat. The indoor space is fairly large, and doesn't have that many tables in it, so it felt like there was elbow room. Some guests were working with laptops, but it was mostly pretty quiet on a Monday afternoon. Our order took a little while, but when it came up, it was prepared well and hit the spot for some energy before a long drive. Mainly, we enjoyed a quite spot to spend some time with AG before hitting the road again. I have a feeling we'll be back when next in the area. read more

Busy Location! During our visit on a Saturday afternoon the coffee shop was experiencing an influx of customers. While in line guests were told that there was some wait time of 15-mins for our orders. I understand that being busy should be the goal of every business owner but management should be prepared to handle the flow when they are short staffed. The last few times I've been there, they have totally taken away to 24 hour Starbucks vibe/experience it used to be. I don't like the things Starbucks higher ups are doing, but the employees are awesome!! I'd rather these days go to a local coffee shop or to coffee shops like Peets or Philz as they have better rewards, but I wish it was 24 hrs with good wages for employees based on the things Ive seen about some coffee shops. I want a 24 hr experience again so that I can do uni work when I'm back in uni, and a place I can go when I can't focus at home/residence; but also I feel students generally need it as some uni's don't have the ability to have a cafe vibe were you can work eat and use the restroom. Sometimes it helps, but it's inconvenient besides the occasional nap some people will do at uni 24 hr areas; although besides that which isn't good in a 24 hr cafe like Starbucks... the other vibes are missing. The layout of this location isn't great - the line to pick up drinks is directly in front of one of their entrances so you walk directly into a crowd of people upon walking in. Put in a mobile order for an iced coffee and it was ready about five minutes later, so not too bad of a wait time. Went there today around 6:20 pm and there was a nice Barista named Ocean or something close to that, she took my order, 1 venti cold chai latte, 1 venti matcha lavender cold latte, 1 Trenta Strawberry Acai lemonade. I paid and even tipped for great service. I came back 5 min later to purchase 1 more Trenta Strawberry Acai Lemonade Refresher but this time it was a different Barista named Erika, the first Barista I dealt with was in the back, and not visible for about 5 minutes. This time I asked for no Ice and Erika said that if I wanted the refresher with no ice it would cost an additional $1.00 to fill it to the top with the original strawberry acai mixture, or she could dilute the cup to the top with extra water or lemonade at no cost. EXCUSE ME, but I'm not paying $5.95 for my drink to be diluted and if I'm paying for a larger Trenta cup and I choose that I don't want the optional ice, please make my drink as it should be without cutting corners and fill my cup all the way to the top. I thought this was weird and a pretty shady and dishonest way of doing business; I didn't pay an additional $1 and accepted the additional lemonade dilution. Didn't want to cause a stir onsite. I called corporate an hour later and they confirmed that THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHARGE AN ADDITIONAL FEE for requesting no ice in any cold refresher beverage, CASE # C58150635. The rep at corporate said they would reach out to her manager. Folks, DO NOT let them charge you extra money for requesting no ice in your cold beverage. Call corporate 1 (800) 782-7282 and complain. I'm normally not a Starbucks person but this place is pretty convenient because it's right off the freeway and the baristas are pretty cool. Because this location is close enough to my work I can pick up coffee, hot chocolate maybe even a frappe depending on the day. This is probably going to be my go to location for a while. It's located in the shopping center across the street from Tanforan mall so, parking Is not going to be an issue. However, some of the characters that hang out around there here can be pretty interesting. With that being said this is like every Starbucks you've ever been to, maybe a little smaller though. But I feel what stands out at this location are the barista's. It's a group of young ladies who kick-ass and really know how to handle a busy location with ease. Each young lady that I've interacted with seemed super cool and always has a smile on their face. Ive observed each one working hard and as a cohesive unit in order to the orders taken care of. Management PLEASE recognize each and every person on that morning team. Give them the proper kudos and raises, for such awesome and consistent work. read more

This spot USED to be my go to. Before the remodel. Now this location is full of people who just don't care enough to provide a comfortable experience. You don't know where your order is. There is a 30 minute wait and when you get there because the order is complete supposedly, only the sandwiches are available. A guy was just yelling out in general that drinks will take an extra 30minutes! Disgusting attitude!! Ridiculous!! Not to mention about 12 people touched my food looking for their order before I got it. There is no eye contact and all the employees are rude. Ordered from the app for easy pick up. I usually give about 5-8 minutes extra time from the time the advised pick up time. Even with that, I have to wait for extra 8-10minutes before the order is ready. This did not happen once or thrice but oftentimes. Another inconsistency here at this San Bruno location is that the app says they have it in stock, you order it and you arrive for pick up, they tell you it's out of stock (while the app says it's in stock, ordered and money is already taken from your account). What a waste of time and gas. Mind you parking here is tough. Lastly, the barista here are not friendly and rude. There was this heavy set lady barista (with wavy hair) who was cranky (it was around 9pm ish on a Monday). She told me she's so busy and the order will take a while since she's busy. After most of the orders were done and given to the respective people, I noticed that even the ones who ordered after us got their orders but not us. After about 15 minutes of waiting, a guy came to the waiting area and returned an order - it was my order. The barista never apologized or said sorry. If the Serramonte Starbucks drive thru is still open after 9pm, I would not mind the drive. The baristas there are friendly and always give you a smile. read more
