Not what it used to be, but who can blame them? They have SO many locations and obviously are committed to a consistent product...but, but the two coffee lattes I got on two consecutive mornings had a ghost of the lightest big-bubbly covering. Not the velvety foam that caps any caffe latte worth its name. And that's not just this location. I used to depend on their product consistency, even if I don't agree with the dark roast (they listened to that!) I'm confident that the Maestrina machine can produce good foam, but it still requires someone who cares about the product and knows what the product should be. S'bux has a lot of good works in the coffee industry. I hope they don't waste their goodwill on sugary drinks and poor execution. . read more

Today we had a great experience at Star . bucks Thousand Oaks. We are seniors living out of a hotel for the last four nights because the ceiling fell in on our home during last weeks terrible rainstorm. The staff at this location were so helpful, courteous and kind. The coffee was terrific, and the egg bites were tasty. It's a turnaround for this location since the management has changed. This is a good Starbucks to sit and work or study in. (I would say, though, if you do this, do patronize the store while you're there--don't be a squatter!). I tried a few drinks while I was there a couple of hours and found most to be made well.  My nonfat chai latte was pretty good--could have used a bit more chai, but it still tasted good. My Pink Drink with extra strawberries was made to specification and tasted great. I looked in my app history and saw that I frequently order white chocolate mochas. So I ordered that as my final drink. It was disgusting.  I thought it may have been a different milk choice than I normally get, but they were kind enough to remake it with different milk. Still nasty. So I was out of luck and a drink.  (I've since tried it two other locations and the drink tasted fine--interesting ). Soooo....I don't typically review Starbucks locations. Let's be real, if you've been to one you been to them all... am I right? It boils down to service. Or so I thought... until I came to this location. This location is one of the best I've even been to when it comes to layout and seating. The inside is really spacious, which just so happens to be awesome during COVID. The outside seating is also much better than most. Instead of slimy, sticky tables, this location actually has comfortable chairs outside ...A PLETHORA of seating, as a matter of fact - which happens to be awesome during covid. The seating is so nice outside, in fact, I almost expected to see TVs. I've had two business meeting here...strictly because of the outside seating options. The service was fine. Everyone was nice and orders came out quickly... but the reason for my extra star is absolutely the outdoor area. They seem to be adhering to solid COVID protocols. No indoor seating, lots of plastic screens between baristas and customers ... Wish this location wasn't across town from me ... read more

Seems like a A FIELD OF DREAMS situation here. There ain't much at the nexus of wurzbach pkwy and Thousand Oaks, but STBX has built a behemoth, Employees wander aimlessly wiping clean tables because nobody has come. I can only imagine it's a matter of time, because this place has everything. The interior is like that of a cathedral. The ceiling is twice as tall as you might expect with rows and rows of beams. No pews below, but a multitude of seating options to suit every mood including a huge banquet size table and electric outlets everywhere you look. For those with 4 legged friends or a strong tolerance for the elements, the patio is COVERED and wraps around two sides of the building. Another thing to notice: automatic sliding doors on both entrances that make getting in and out whilst double-fisting coffee a breeze! read more

This location has great friendly service. The place was clean, and people were working on restocking and helping each other rather than other locations I've seen where the employees are on their phones or looking like they really didn't care to be there. As soon as I entered, almost every employee greeted me. Even when I left! Makes things feel more personable, and you'd definitely want to come back. Too bad this location is not near my home. read more

Raphael (store manager) was ironically enough the person who greeted me when I entered, half passing out from lack of food/sugar. I was feeling so awful and he was immediately helpful, offering me water and milk (fastest sugar to the body), and even brought my sandwich to my table and checked in on me before he left for the night. I'm still shaking a little as I write this, but I wanted to thank him so much for being so kind and attentive during a weak and vulnerable moment. This Starbucks has just gone downhill. My family and I always used to come to this thousand oaks location but will not be coming back!! The last two times I have visited the workers have not said a word to me at the window when I pull up. Not a "Hi" nor a "have a good day!" No words said to me at all. This Starbucks is a joke. The baristas think "breve" means heavy cream when it means half and half. The older woman argued with me for 5 minutes over the meaning of breve. The drinks are always made haphazardly. Today I ordered an iced americano with raw sugar and took a drink only to feel the sugar had not even been attempted to be melted, which is standard. I swear. A bunch of brain dead people. You would think you would actually be trained on how to do your job and know how to make coffee. They will jump over you if your coffee is too "complicated" and make everyone else's until someone is willing to make your cooking crumble. I love this Starbucks because they're always nice. I went to get a venti drink today and they gave me a grande. No big deal, she takes it back and says she'll fix it. She comes back with my drink and it's literally just the grande drink in a venti cup with 1/3 the cup being whipped cream. I basically paid the venti price for a grande with extra whipped cream. Colleen seemed irritated that I had to ask my mom, who is standing right next to me, what sugar and cream she wanted in her cup since we cannot do it ourselves. Wasn't a great experience. They made one teeny tiny mistake-- they forgot to add cold foam to my drink. I'm not usually someone who will go get an order fixed. I typically just move on because, well, it's not that big a deal really. For some reason, I chose to go in and ask them to please add it. They all greeted me with SO MUCH KINDNESS. The gentleman at the counter already had a new cup in his hand ready to remake my order before I even asked. The reality was, I would've been fine with it if he'd just added it to the top of the drink I already had. What sets this location apart from others I've been to is that everyone in the building insisted on going above and beyond to make sure it was not just fine, but absolutely PERFECT. They sent me back to work with a delicious, 100% correct drink and a smile on my face. They didn't have to do that for me! They could have done the bare minimum. My favorite part was that the entire staff, not a single person left out, was determined to make things right and then some. In times like these where it's so easy to be self centered and negative, this team truly stands out. They are all so special for being able to work toward the common goal as a team. I never leave reviews but I really have to give an applaud to this location. I come almost every day and while the drive thru line is sometimes long, staff is super nice and helpful when I get to the window. I once forgot to add cold foam to my cold brew and barista happily fixed for me. Employees seem friendly and love chatting while we wait in line. Ive had unpleasant experiences at other locations before and now drive 10 minutes out of the way to come to this one. Great Work you guys!! read more

This Starbucks was awesome! They surprised me with a free Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew! I came here to do homework and had been here a while when an employee dropped it off at my table. Later, the management asked me how it was and I could not be any more happier. I have studied at many Starbucks around San Antonio and this location was the first to do this. This starbucks is consistently the slowest Starbucks drive through... by far. I'd say you can expect at least 5 minutes per car in the window, which is ridiculous. It seems to be a staffing issue to me as most drive-through Starbucks have about triple the amount of people working, but definitely a bummer. If you don't have about 30 minutes to spare, I'd say go somewhere else. read more
