No complaints at this Starbucks location in Rapid City! As I often do when I travel, once we were all packed up at our hotel we started looking for a nearby Starbucks to place an online order so we could snag a quick breakfast on the road. This one hit the mark as it was nearby to our hotel, was quick, and they got our order right. I can't speak to the inside as we only did the drive through, but the barista was kind, and we all were satisfied with our food and drink. read more

I enjoyed ordering from here, the workers know us and the vibe from the place is really calming. However whenever I usually order a Venti caramel frappe with extra caramel drizzle, they're starting to forget to add the extra caramel drizzle. That's the only complaint I have, otherwise it's been a good place to go to for coffees. read more

I came through the drive through at this location on a road trip so I can't speak for indoor cleanliness. The drinks however were less than desirable. I asked for a triple venti iced caramel macchiato with the extra shot of espresso in the bottom. Not only was it made wrong with all the shots on the top, it was weak and tasted burnt once I got things blended a bit more. I repeated my order and gave specifics twice too so that's aggravating. The chocolate foam cold brew had way too much chocolate in the foam so it didn't sit well on the pallet. Overall I'd suggest skipping this location and driving a few miles down the road to try a different location. There's plenty to choose from in Rapid City. read more

I used to go here all the time for my coffee before work. The quality has gone downhill. I always order on the app to save money, but lately they haven't been adding my order to my coffee. I ask for almond milk (I have a bad case of lactose intolerance) and they don't put in any. Which is irritating because it's a $1 or so more. I add caramel drizzle or whatever to the order. They don't add that either. I used to be a huge matcha person as well but it seems they're either getting stingy with the powder or just don't know how to make it. All in all. Don't go here if you have IBS or any other food allergy because they won't adhere to it and don't spend the extra money. Better off ordering a plain black coffee read more

Obviously all Starbucks are very similar. My wife and I travel lots and go to Starbucks close to our home. This store studly does a wonderful job. They made each coffee drink perfectly,the first time. Their staff is courteous ,competent and very friendly. This place is a winner! read more

Is it me or is going through drive through more uncomfortable now with the cashier's usual remark that the kiosk is going to "ask you a question" before I pay? It's for the tip of course. But how can an establishment ask its employees to ask customers for tips beforehand when I don't even know how my coffee is going to taste? Or if it's hot enough? Or if they will give me any napkins for my sandwich? (They didn't of course...and there's plenty of times the coffee is lukewarm or old and bitter. Last time they gave me the wrong coffee). Shame on you Starbucks for allowing your employees to ask for tips when it is you who should be paying them a better hourly wage. read more

One star is generous. My wife and I stopped in to get her a Trenta Black Tea. She finished the tea, went to counter to have them fill the cup with water. She takes the lid off, gets ready to hand it to the barista when she notices a fly IN the middle of the cup mixed in with the ice. The employees first question? Did you take the lid off before you came to the counter... Good training Starbucks. It's the customers fault before any other questions are asked. Check your drinks folks. read more

I've been in Rapid a lot the last few months and this Starbucks is just ok. The one on Mt Rushmore is awesome every time I've been there. My drink is exactly as ordered. This Starbucks never whips the cold foam enough to ever be foam. It's gross as a liquid on top. When it's actually foamy it's amazing, but no matter how many times I've ordered it here, it's runny. They don't honor medical exemptions for masks, even when half the people in the shop have them pulled down below their chin. I also waited in the store for at least 5 minutes before anyone cared that I didn't have a mask, but then all of a sudden I wasn't allowed to breathe inside anymore. read more

I would rate this place a negative -1 but I cannot. I asked for a venti hot water. It spilled all over me and burned me because there was no courtesy room like they're supposed to leave. I spoke to the worker who serves me and manager and they had no remorse. They were smiling the whole time I was complaining and asking why they left me no courtesy room. read more

The team at this Starbucks is beyond good. They recognize regulars and treat them like friends. They treat every customer with respect, professionalism and genuine friendliness. I went through the drive-thru yesterday around 1:30 and ordered my iced cloud caramel macchiato. I get it almost three times a week made the same. Took a couple sips and it taste okay, just not like it normally does. I took another sip and I had white chunks . At first a got scared because the chunks made me think or a crushed pill , like someone have crushed up a pill and put it in my drink. I talked to a friend about the situation and they thought it might possibly be spoiled milk. Either way it is not a good situation. I was in a rush and didn't have time to go back through the drive-thru, but I should have went and complained and got another one. Very disappointed by rude manager! I frequent Starbucks but never utilized the space for work until today when I needed to take a conference call on the road. I politely asked for them to turn down the blaring music and could tell the manager was not happy by the request. I overheard her telling her staff, "I'm not going to turn it down for the whole store." I had to leave my conference call on mute and could barely hear the conversation. Nice people but the place was SWARMING in flies. They had boxes of delivery sitting in front that was swarmed with flies, their food case was full of flies (though it's a display and not what they serve from) and there was a big black bug crawling near the food case. Much easier parking and drive thru setup here than the Rushmore rd. store in Rapid City. Not had any trouble yet! Most Starbucks are not impressive examples of customer service and are particularly notorious for taking better care of drive-thru customers than people standing there in the store. I find that approach ridiculous. If I'd taken the time to get off my arse and into the store I should have priority service over the lazy butt sitting in their car at the drive up. These folks have proved that wrong! They seem to have stuff to take care of both sets of customers satisfactorily. One little blonde barista in particular is a standout here, I believe her name is Ria... Update / downgrade: Okay so my latest trip to this Starbucks confirms the Dismal customer service that I usually get from Starbucks. I have to downgrade the rating. No cream on hand? C'mon, seriously? Not Unusual at any Starbucks to find three or four Baristas stepping and fetching, like their heads were on fire and their butts were catching - waiting on the drive thru; however, those of us standing there physically in line - in front of them are more or less ignored. Add to that managers and supervisors standing around in the back room or at the doorway watching and chatting as the place fills up, but offering no assistance. Lastly, at two of the Starbucks in the Rapid City area at peak time - morning coffee, they are getting their supply deliveries. How ridiculous! Has anyone in this business told them about lean? Do they understand anything about inventory? Why are your suppliers showing up at this hour clogging up the parking lot with the big truck and slowing down the entire operation, at a crucial time when it needs to work at its smoothest? Drank an awesome chocolate banana smoothie, and then a large passion tea... Which I made them remake because I did not specify I wanted hot. It was my own fault, to be fair.
