It was hot and I needed something cool! Not my normal Starbucks stop, but this location was fast and friendly. Everything you'd want from your neighborhood coffee joint. It was an odd hour, so there was no line and my drink was ready to go within minutes! Props to the team for a clean sugar and creamer station. I remember this location before they renovated now it looks similar to a bar with a long strip counter stretch, stretching across the whole space. This Starbucks is located off Monterey Ave & Highway 111. Upon entering, I was greeted by all of the staff. I noticed how super clean it was here & so was their restroom! The Pumpkins have arrived!! Everything here is super organized & attention to details. This is my #1 Starbucks to go to, all the staff are beyond friendly, they always are so welcoming & really sweet! As I was trying to figure out my order, Mimi approached me & ask me if I had any questions. Yes answered them all beautifully! I ordered 2 double smoked bacon sandwiches, 1 Pumpkin Cream cheese muffin, Tall strawberries açaí lemonade with no strawberries, and Soy venti Carmel Frappuccino. As I was waiting & not too long. I see all their displays of mugs, drink cups, their different kinds of coffees. They have pick ups through Moblie apps, makes life a little easier & also they have sitting areas outside. I would like thank this Starbucks for always giving me positive experiences here! This is a very rude Starbucks. There needs to be a pamphlet put out on manners. This is a very entitled local neighborhood Starbucks. We ordered our coffee. We wanted to sit on the patio and enjoy the nice weather in the sun. Literally we were blocked by 6 to 7 people that had chairs all around the entrance of the patio almost to intentionally block it. These individuals were 40 years old and older they know better. We had to sit on the patio and listen to them talk about how drunk they got at the Nest and how one guy was a drug dealer and how alcohol drinks are so expensive there. Just a pathetic experience. One of only 2 Starbucks in the US testing the "popping pearls" of coffee. First, the pearls are not boba. They are not chewy. If you have ever gone to a frozen yogurt place that has little syrup filled balls that have strawberry or mango flavored juice/syrup in them, that is exactly what "popping pearls" is like. Except these are filled with coffee flavored syrup. I got both and ordered them half sweet. Nitro cold brew was good. Glad i got half sweet as it was still quite sweet. Chai latte was superb. The coffee pearls added just the right touch. The coffee flavor really enhances the flavor of chai and they are terrific together. When you drink these and use a straw, be careful as you will suck up all the pearls at once. Better to stir and suspend them first. I hope they will offer these in more places. This Starbucks just opened after a very long renovation. What a disappointment! From being what Starbucks founder Howard Schulz called for, a "Third Place", where we could gather, relax and enjoy a friendly gathering place with indoor & outdoor seating, a sterile walk in/walk out place emerged. No more indoor seating at all (where it's badly needed as the weather ranges from up to 120 down to 45 degrees), the bathrooms are invisible, most of the outdoor seating on the lovely patio is also gone. The poor staff had to go without income for 6 wks & came back to be jammed into a much narrower work space. Our favorite neighborhood spot is gone, Starbucks wasted a bunch of money on a poorly designed renovation & we & a lot of us won't be going back. We used to go several times a week, even twice in a day...:-( read more

Okay, so talk to Google Maps Starbucks! We stumbled upon this hidden gem of a Starbucks while searching the area on our way to the Living Desert. It wasn't on our Google map and we had a huge debate over having gone there before. My husband insisted it existed and he was right!! We were wandering around a parking lot in despair when we spotted it at the end of the road. I said, "I may be crazy, but that looks like STARBUCKS signage to me." And sure enough, like a mirage in the desert, we approached it from the parking lot and found a space at this busy strip mall location. Once inside, it was nice and typical and quiet enough for working, but the best feature was the huge covered patio off the front entrance. My Carmel Macchiato Frappe was delectable, particularly so since I had been craving one since our local Starbuck's was out of that seasonal flavor last week. (No Gingerbread this year, my favorite seasonal flavor). My drink looked so tempting, other customers asked what it was...and got it! Fully fortified with holiday delight, we left for the delights of the Living Desert. We will definately stumble back here again, if we can find it! read more

The place is always spotless clean inside and out. Extremely rude management here. I witnessed them being verbally abusive with more than one customer while we were waiting for our order. It was genuinely upsetting to see. We went back a couple of months later and witnessed the same thing. Sometimes some employees have a stressed, pained look while this is going on. This Starbucks is located at the intersection of Hwy 111 and Monterey. The coffee and drinks are all fine and good - exactly the quality you'd expect from the Starbucks brand. More importantly, the staff here in my experience has been very friendly. I'm certain a number of them have been with the company for quite some time, so they definitely know what they're doing. They're also on top of their mobile orders, which is something to keep in mind as they consistenly get lines. The indoor seating is cozy and adequate, but on nice days their outdoor seating takes the cake - a patio/terrace with plenty of seats and tables. The product may be nothing out of this world, but I have found myself frequenting this location much more than I expected simply because of the staff and location. read more

I know this is weird, but i'm 36 and have never really had coffee. I decided to try it, but I wasnt sure where to start, so I told the guy at the register, Jack. He was kinda busy, but he still took the time to not only explain French Press to me, he also MADE me a cup of fresh French Press with almond milk (i'm lactose intolerant) and then he said "I want your first cup of Joe to be special." I really enjoyed him and the coffee experience. It was very enjoyable and the manager, Erik was very helpful too. Im newly sober, and it's been a rough few months. I came to this Starbucks on a day that had a 3 dollar grande deal and ordered my drink. I told the lady that I would be using the deal and showed her the deal in my Starbucks app messages. She nodded and went along with the order. After I ordered I got the recipt and instead of the drink being 3 dollars it was 6.75. When I questioned the price they said I had to show a code. The cashier didn't say that and also when checking app again it said that you didn't need a code and just needed to tell the cashier. This location is the alternative to the store on El Paseo which is smack-dab in the middle of tourist central! Come here for the best baristas in the area, there's no endless queue that never seems to move either when compared to the other El Paseo location. There isn't much seating inside, but the outdoor seating is comfortable and cozy, even on hot days! If you mobile your order ahead of time, the chances you can grab it once you park and walk inside is great, seeing as unlike other stores, this location doesn't prioritise orders based on if the customer is standing there ordering versus the mobile order label printing out! Also, when they get your order wrong on that rare occasion, they do replace it quickly for you and typically let you keep both the drinks for the issue. Sometimes they offer a small pastry while you wait for the replacement, depending on the barista you get and how exactly by the employee manual they adhere too! Come to this location as it's the best in the area, by far! read more

And they were working hard to get the orders out as quick as possible. They forgot my sandwich and without asking they remembered. I like the outdoor patio. So, after recently realizing that there actually are places that are open (other than AM/PM) at 5am, I stopped by this location.
