This place... I can't even take it sometimes. Let me start off in saying, I lived in Washington State for years, the people know their coffee. Starbucks originated from there and you could always count on service- quick service at that. I say this because my review may seem rude and ugly but it's the truth, so... You can count of the staff to act as if you are an annoyance almost every single time. The lady over the intercom box sounds so joyful and preppy, you get to the window and she's replaced with a complete --- of a person. Where does she go? Why can't the nice person be the one to Service customers. Here's a tip: hire people who enjoy public service or who enjoy other people. When you go in, it's apparent it hasn't been cleaned since the place opened. Coffee is hit or miss. I can't count on it to taste like what I ordered. Sure, this place is very busy, it's the only coffee house in town besides Cpl Rays and, well, that's another story for another day. Oh and best of all is the 30-60 minute wait on a latte. I would've rated this Starbucks 4 stars. You will come to learn why I did not. The facility is never perfectly clean. Sometimes there's a bit of trash on the condiment counter. The bathrooms have always been spotless. The front patio could use some love Id give it a 3.5 on cleanliness. They've only screwed up my order once. Ive been through the drive thru 20+ times and in the store about 10 times. There is an older gentleman who works there and he's a sweetheart and for the most part the staff is quite pleasant. However, they have a barista who works there and she is downright rude everytime I go through or come in. Rarely smiles. Always seems to be on shark week. Generally sighing and frowning and throwing unnecessary attitude about. Im not sure what her problem is, but I know that it shouldn't be rubbing off on her customers. Today I went through the drive thru and she told me told me to put out my cigarette. Ive never been asked that before in my life. Had she not been so rude every time ive been to the store, I would've been more inclined to acquiesce. If I could give zero stars I would. They greeted me... But the girl kept working while I waited. In line. The only person. Just me. And it took awhile to get my coffee because they lost the sticker thing. I'm from the big city, so my expectation was low. However I got my oatmeal faster than an iced coffee which really requires pouring from pitchers and a shot of toffee nut flavoring. Updated: today I tried again. They made my soy latte. If I could give zero stars, I would! This location has just been progressively going downhill in the past few months. There were 2 cars ahead of me. I repeated my order once when I drove up, once to the first lady at the window, who was extremely rude, and once when the second lady came to the window. It took (from the time I drove up to the time I finally left) about 40 minutes. I arrived in a great mood, I left in a bad mood. The first lady (the rude one) was a Hispanic lady, mid 20s, wearing a grey shirt with black stripes on her sleeves. Her body language and facial expressions said she didn't want to be there and that I was a burden because I chose to get coffee on a Monday morning. I am in management and if I ever caught my team treating guests like this, I'd have them in the back mopping the floors....away from guests... Hope someone reads this and decides to do the correct training this location desperately needs. read more

The drive thru crew is fast & over staffed while the counter crew is way understaffed. Line inside is always long & the wait is horrendous. I am only visiting so the torture is temporary but my gooodness! I hate leaving negative reviews about ANY business, I'm also in customer service and realize all the different nuances that can make the difference between a great experience and one that is disappointing. With that said...Starbucks on 42nd is on my way to work, 1 star. Without fail they seem to always be out of coconut milk, raw sugar or the wait is unreasonable long. I stopped ordering Cappuccino because it was always inconsistently made, the last time I ordered it, I got a cup of steamed milk, other times I got a cup of coffee with milk. If I could rate this place with 0 stars I would. I was in odessa for the week and every day took 30-40 minutes to get my coffee. They were consistently out of SUGAR (c'mon sugar?!) and vanilla. The workers here are unfocused and seemingly untrained. I kept thinking maybe they would get it together when I kept going back, but that did not happen. And from looking at other reviews it looks like it's been a mess for awhile. This morning the line was 90% blocked by heaps of boxes and they were still telling people they were out of things. May be the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. No, the worst was in Batesville,MS and they sut it down. Place was filthy, unorganized, slow. Had 7 people working and everyone of them seemed to be getting in each other's way. Add to that 4 off the clock employees wandering around distracting the staff. I've been here a few times. My coffee was actually cold (room temperature) and clearly was brewed a long time ago. While I recognize that many of the people ahead of me were ordering frappu-somethings, that is no excuse for old, cold brewed coffee. I mean, I've had better from a gas station. read more

The customer service here is good however, the last three times I have gone to this Starbucks they have not made the chai tea latte correctly. It seems as though it was only steamed milk. I'm not sure what has happened lately with this store, because they use to be decent, but now it seems either the product quality or their quality control is super poor. This is consistently the WORST Starbucks I have ever been to. I believe in bad days and second chances so I've tried this location at least 7 times. They have gotten the order wrong or lost the mobile order Every. Single. Time. And always the order takes 15 minutes or more. Always. No matter the drink. Starbucks prides itself for consistency from store to store. The baristas at this store change recipes and are not familiar with their own menu. This is by far the dirtiest Starbucks I have ever stepped foot in. Based on all the trash cans overflowing and the tables and chairs looking like they haven't been touched in days, I was hesitant about staying. After using the restroom we notified employees that both restrooms were out of both toilet paper and paper towels and they simply just handed us over the counter napkins... thank goodness we went inside to order so that we knew not to eat/drink anything based on how filthy the area was where drinks were being prepared. read more

Seriously one of the worst Starbucks I have been too..... I wouldn't normally go here, but being in Odessa almost everyday, sometimes I just have too..... This has been the third or fourth time where they have messed my order up, given me something I didn't order, overcharged, and even forgotten to wring it up.... Only one time was I given my order for free when they messed up; which I'm was grateful for... And I'm not saying I won't pay for it, just get your shit together and get my order right. I don't mind waiting, but I'm sure the zillion people behind me would though. Like today, she thought I said latte, does latte sound like tea??? This is the saddest Starbuck's I have been in. There was a huge line outside and inside was ridiculously long! While there was a long line for the people who have already ordered, the guy in a black knitted cap said "you came in during shift change" Did he just gave an excuse and it's our fault!!! Pathetic!!!
