This is exactly what downtown Midland needed. I suffered enough when visiting Midland before this oasis appeared, but then some visionary decided to open this place which happens to make some absolutely amazing coffee, so good that hugs your heart. I'm a cappuccino guy and these folks make it balanced, and with perfectly texture microfoam. They are also southern warm friendly:) read more

Their pastries and lunch are by far the best out of any coffee shop in midland and they do a great job of rotating and continuously improving their food menu. I think the coffee itself could be improved or perhaps I just don't love the taste profile they are going for but it's still okay. I do enjoy the variety of drinks they offer. Owners are always super nice and I enjoy what they do for the community. But I get a bit of a pretentious and dismissive vibe from some of the employees. I love the couch inside and wish there were a few more comfy places to sit because the seating along the wall is not the most comfortable. read more

This was the coffee nerd stop in Midland. Beautiful shop, La Marzocco on bar, serious grinder setup, hand pours, and they clearly care about how the coffee is actually brewed. I ordered a couple coffees and sat at the bar doing a little tasting, which is pretty much my ideal way to kill time when traveling. I will say lack of crème kind of killed the espresso experience for me... Two shots were pulled, neither had very consistent crème But the space is great... Minimal without feeling sterile, good natural light, and the whole operation feels considered without becoming self serious. If you're someone who actually cares about coffee rather than just needing caffeine, this is the Midland stop. read more

Even in the smallest towns in the littlest corners of the world, coffee shops can be a third space to some, a mental oasis of release with just espresso and milk. I first visited Far West on a day trip to Midland and was thoroughly impressed by what it is, what it does, and the true semi-traditional, semi-modern aesthetic it has going for it. A slight cowboy tinge to a modern minimalist coffee shop. It makes sense being in oil city, where Landman is based. Its storefront has this old brick feeling, and inside the space is gorgeous. Plenty of natural light leaks through, with wood accents and granite tables. They have a kitchen in the back because on Fridays they have a full breakfast menu that is delicious. The staff is kind and cozy. You forget you in Midland entirely, and you feel transported to a coffee shop in South Austin. That's how above and beyond this place feels The coffee is top notch every time. This time I got their Bourbon Latte from the winter menu, which was great, while my girlfriend got their Cafe de Olla that she really enjoyed. The space is nice for work or just relaxing. I got some reading in while my girlfriend knitted. It was a great time. If you are ever passing through Midland or live in the area, it is worth a stop. It might be some of the best coffee you have ever had. RIYL: A West Texas oasis. read more

Coffee shop hunting is a personal hobby of mine, and this sits up there with the best of them. Staff: Friendly Ambiance: Chill/Indie Coffee: They purchased a $20k espresso machine, so phenomenal It's everything you would expect from a Dallas coffee shop. I feel like it's still a bit of a hole in the wall since they're new, but it will easily be one of Midland's gems in the coming years. read more

This coffee was absolutely amazing, it was a bit on the sweeter side (which is exactly how I prefer my coffee). Will return!

I loved this coffee shop! I came in to kill some time and read and book and this place is so aesthetic and cute. The staff are super friendly and made me feel welcomed. The dirty chai tasted great and I loved that it was a little "spicy" compared to just regular box chai. Definitely one of the best dirty chai I have had. The cheddar scone was a great accompaniment to the latte. I will be returning next time I'm in the area to grab another drink! read more

This review is to Shoutout the manager Mac at Far West Coffee and her consistent high standard of service and compassion. We were visiting the Odessa/Midland area 3-4 years ago and came to Far West once on that trip. We're back in the area now and came by, and Mac remembered us from 3-4 years ago. The level of service and consistency she brings to the shop is outstanding. And the coffee is great! Thank you Mac! read more

Excellent coffee. Excellent menu that includes your regular coffee and espresso options as well as specialties like espresso tonics, seasonal drinks and cafe de olla. Big large roomy space, beautiful tables and large windows. The staff is nice and attentive. It's sunny outside and I'm wondering if it could get any better. I think this is coffee heaven. They're out of pastries but it's the end of the day and I'm not hungry anyway. Don't hesitate, swing by Far West Coffee if you're in Midland. It's worth it. read more

We stopped here for coffee wanting to try somewhere new. The place was packed with a line waiting for coffee, tables were all filled and the place was loud and crowded. Very dog friendly as lots of people had dogs. We didn't have to wait long for a seat to open up and were able to have our drinks there. I got the cardamom bun, the cafe old fashioned and the spice spice baby fall specials. The café old fashioned was very unexpected and phenomenal. Highly recommend it. The spice spice baby didn't taste like any of the spices or flavors described but was still a great cup of coffee if you weren't too disappointed with getting coffee Instead of a spiced pumpkin latte :) read more

Far West is a hidden gem in Midland. The inside is clean, modern, with a twist of western vibes. It's the perfect place to grab a morning coffee and small bite to eat. It's also great for sitting and working or chatting with friends. My favorite item is the iced Oatchata, an oat milk based iced latte with traditional horchata flavors. Everyone I know who has tried it loves it. I definitely recommend it to locals and visitors looks for something other than a chain style coffee shop. read more

Best almond croissants...my favorite pasty! And the coffee was delish as well! Fast with great customer service.

Far west is one of the best coffee shops I have ever been to. I'm a regular there. The coffee and pastry ingredients keep you coming back and the next level hospitality makes you stay. They are so thoughtful in everything they do from the timers that come with your steeping tea to the complimentary glass water jugs. The community style seating is amazing. The coffee was pretty decent and the aesthetic is pretty chill. The benches are slightly uncomfortable, but my main issue was that the day I went the wifi was having tons of issues. If you've never been here and the parking lot is full, don't let that deter you. There is plenty of open space inside. The staff were extremely kind and prompt at answering questions. They make their own syrups, which is always a good sign. I got a drip coffee with cream and a latte with a mixture of half honey/half chata (horchata) syrups and it was delicious. If you actually want to taste the espresso (as I hope you do) make sure you communicate you only want half of each syrup, or maybe even a quarter of each syrup. Price was pretty on par with other independent coffee shops. Aka they're all expensive. It's worth a stop if you're in town. read more
