This Starbucks is right next to my house and I think I'll be heading to a different location from now on. They consistently mess up my order from the minor we are out of cold brew so here is Iced Coffee (although I already paid you for the more expensive drink), forgetting the shot of espresso, or running out of the extras you ordered. They actually consistently run out of the breakfast sandwiches or sweeteners that you order but wait to inform until AFTER you have paid. Just infuriating. Plus, they are the slowest Starbucks I've ever visited. I don't give a 1 star lightly but it's well deserved. The positive is the outdoor seating is fantastic. Really nice place to enjoy an iced coffee in the summer. The issue is everything leading up to that point. read more

Many of the staff are helpful and good natured. A few are not. But the real issue with this store is what Starbucks intends to do with it. It's a busy and successful location, as far as I can tell, but the physical condition of the store is poor. The furniture? Shabby tables, missing or mismatched chairs. The front windows? Dirty. The lock on the men's room door doesn't work and hasn't worked for some time. Is Starbucks corporate planning to close this store and is that why they're letting it deteriorate? I've wondered for a long time why a town as prosperous as Oak Park is given such a small, tacky Starbucks, instead of one that could accommodate more customers and was better maintained. The District Manager is a very nice and helpful person, but something is wrong with this location and Starbucks needs to come clean about what they plan for it. read more

The worst Starbucks in the Chicagoland area. Order coffee (blonde roast!) on a Sunday morning at 8:20. None brewed. Mobile orders? Always 1/2 complete. Never, ever runs right. Nearly every other Starbucks experience I have downtown is problem-free. This location sucks. read more

I placed my order on the mobile app on my way to the store. I get there, and waited for my drink. I checked the time and I had been waiting for 15 minutes. The store was busy, so I decided to run to the bank and then come back. I went to Chase (three or four blocks away) and cashed my paycheck, and came back and my drink was still not made. It had been 45 minutes at this point. I brought it up with a cashier and was told that they had another drink similar to mine, and "had forgotten" to make both, and only the other one was made. They finally made it, and it was the incorrect order. I was going to bring it up with a barista, but had enough of the store at that point. I did not get any compensation for my experience, and they did not even apologize. read more

Literally the worst Starbucks in history. For at least two years I have been coming here three times a week, ordering the same, relatively uncomplicated drink every single time: a grande black eye with extra cold soy. Yet, I can count on one hand the number of times they have gotten it right on the first try. Additionally, only once has the manager apologized. Today was the last straw. The young lady whom I asked for more soy milk, seeing as I ordered extra soy and didn't get it, was so passively aggressively insolent, I left without my coffee. Were it not for the nearby high school, I have no doubt this business would have folded long before. As it is, Starbucks should be ashamed to have their name associated with such a poorly run, slovenly establishment. read more

The service and products were great, but unfortunately, the location is not for me. I hang out at coffee shops to do work on my laptop, so I'm usually out during the workday. This particular Starbucks is very close to a high school, so the high school students come here for lunch. As much as I enjoyed the coffee, I'll probably go to another coffee shop in the area, that's further away from the high school. sorry! read more

I hate to blast a place but I've been here twice and I've been annoyed by the same person twice. His name starts with and E and he has red hair. He apparently is a the supervisor and feels that his authority is best served ordering customers around. First visit, I had a torn achilles and was in a cast. I ordered my drink and was waiting for it and he admonished me for waiting in the wrong place and when i mentioned my injury he reluctantly brought me my drink to the counter. Then today I brought my therms in for a fill up. They charged me for a vente and poured a vente cup into my thermos. When I asked them to fill it up, he called out that that was what I paid for. I understand this but, I had asked them to fill my thermos and was willing to pay accordingly, which I did. He bellowed "Next time state the exact ounces and well charge you for that." So the place was messy and there were 2 empty half & half containers. Many coffee shops in the area generally fill my thermos up and charge me for a large coffee because 1. they are nice and 2. they don't have to use their paper products. Starbucks is a great place but I'd pass on this one if you see Eric there. read more

Went there this morning and the barista taking orders was very rude. Didn't get his name but he had his hair slicked back with a bunch of gel. You could tell he was just trying to get people in and out but he didn't care about doing it in a nice manner. Instead, when I asked for a caramelized honey latte he said "that's gone, next in line please." Very rudely. Not a good way to keep costumes coming back in. read more

Ive been going to this particular starbucks for 9 months with my therapist around the neighborhood, they've got good snacks and juices from which she and I share together during my appointments. to be quite frank theirs nothing particularly special about this Starbucks but it is convent enough and cozy looking albeit sometimes a little cramped during very very, busy hours but Im glad it's still around from me and my therapist to munch and drink while we discuss my confidentiality. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks in the Oak Park area. The atmosphere is very quaint, and there is a lovely outdoor patio for the summer. Not usually too crowded and I can almost always find a little two-person table to sit at, even though the inside is small. Fun view of Lake Street. Baristas are quick and professional. read more

With Starbucks being so popular and this location being so close to the high school, it is a given that this place gets very busy in the morning. However that doesn't seem to motivate the staff at all. Mobile ordered a drink 30 minutes in advance and had to wait an extra 15 minutes while I was there. A grande iced coffee does not take 45 minutes. When I asked one of the workers, a woman with long blonde hair that looked like she hated everything out her job, where my drink was, she walked to the back, peeled it off the mobile order machine and put it on a cup and said it'll be out soon. They hadn't even started making it yet! That's why it's mobile order, if I wanted it made when I got there I would've waited in line. Some workers are nice though. One night around 9:00 I was with my friends, they were closing soon and when I asked how much a muffin was she was very kind and offered it to me for free. Another worker I love is tall, has black glasses and I think red hair is the nicest person I've ever seen there. read more

I have to agree with so many of the other comments here. Terrible Starbucks. Service is incredibly slow and they are so disorganized. They're standing around talking with each other. The Starbucks employee in the picture below (red-head, possibly "Jen") is just rude. Does not have any manners. Most, not all, look just miserable. The Starbucks is filthy and smells. The outdoor seating is filthy. The indoor/outdoor seating seems to be mostly of homeless people. This morning a homeless person was masturbating on one of the outdoor seating benches. My 10-year old daughter was with me. Come on! The Barista did offer to talk with the Manager and have them call the police. If it was the miserable Manager I doubt is was taken care of. Done with this Starbucks. Grossest one I've been to. I'd be curious to know who the District Manager is and what they or Corporate are doing about this mess of a location. read more

Yeah, def let a bad taste in my mouth this morning. I thought maybe I was being extra leaving a comment but I see other people had the same problem with the same Barista. Hair slicked back and a guy. I ordered a cookie and the cookie and handed him a $5 without waiting for the total. When he said the total was $2.15, I gave him the $2.15 I had in my hand and asked for my $5 back. He said he couldn't give me my five back because the drawer would be off. I said how? If I give you $2.15 or give me change then there will be exactly $2.15 added to the drawer. He said I gave him a $5 and he rang so he would need to re-ring it. So I thought maybe they had to have exact types of change and bills possibly if they rang it a certain way? Working in food service I know you just need to have the amount but I have never worked at Starbucks. He kept my 15 cent and gave me $3 back to that killed that theory. He just didn't want to take out my $5 for some stupid reason. I just felt he was really rude and spoke with me like I was stupid. I will continue to go to the Starbucks on Harlem since others are having problems with his rudeness as well. read more

It's Starbucks, so that alone makes it worth the effort, it's close and convenient to my nail salon, however comparatively speaking, the service is not as good as the Stores in the Loop or the Forest Park location. Seems they are always training new people. read more

An unfortunate experience has come up and I regret that I have to be so direct. I am just getting home from this Starbucks location. Please take special note, this is my first time EVER in life, to leave any type of online review. Indeed, we all as consumers have experienced bad customer service on several occasions in our lifetime, but this is not at all a customer service complaint, nor a matter to take even take lightly. Closing business hours on Sundays are at 10:30pm. As normal routine; a pleasant employee walked around to inform all, that they are closing in 10 min; of course I respected this announcement. By 10:25pm, I began to clean up behind myself and gather my things. Before leaving and to the same employee, I had asked if the bathrooms were still unlocked, for the reason I needed to use the ladies room. At this point their were about three other customers left on the floor. I used the restroom, washed my hands and began opening the door. Automatically, I felt someone pulling the door. I noticed their was a different employee opening the same bathroom door I was exiting. My observation; why am I feeling such a pull behind the door? and why is it so dark?; all the lights were off and she looked me with a hateful smirk. Not at all did she care she was making me feel uncomfortable. She then rolled her eyes and stomped ahead of me as if she were in an angry, storming, stampede and basically GAVE ME THE BOOT. Politely, I said "excuse me, but what is your name ?". She then replied something under her breath (I couldn't even make it out), AND SLAMMED THE GLASS DOOR ON ME, LOCKED IT ON MY FACE AND WALKED AWAY! Please take special note, the time was ONLY 10:34pm, by the time I was so "rudely escorted". I was shocked. Was this at all, necessary? Further clarification: There were two employees that closed the store this evening. I will end this review to at least share recognition for the one out of the two young women working. I wish I knew her name; she SMILES a lot, very professional and sophisticated demeanor. Whomever closed the doors on me, can learn a few necessary skills that may take her further in life; she ought observe her co-worker. Observation goes a long way; makes the best mentor. TIPS FOR THE EXTREMELY RUDE EMPLOYEE: This is not at all in reflection of the Starbucks brand. Please represent them to the integrity they uphold; it is vital. Give serious attention to the important areas you need to improve. This is your work life! Foster people skills, learn manners and proper business professional ethics. Your attitude was not only poor, but intimidating, aggressive and very abusive. You undoubtably are in a field in which you have to work with customers, face-to-face. By applying emotional intelligence and professionalism in your dealings with others, will increase your worth to any company for which you work. Lastly, I am sure that there are future applicants and other current employees, such as your closing teammate this evening, who are ready to satisfy your customers and company expectations, if you do not. Indeed, you will quickly become a liability to your employer if you continue in this type of behavior. I WILL ASSURE TO ESCALATE THIS FURTHER 12.14.15, IN HOPES THAT TOP MANAGEMENT DOWN, WILL RE-PLAY THE SECURITY CAMERAS & RESPOND APPROPRIATELY; this type of behavior would be an automatic disciplinary write up if I were to oversee this location. read more
