Found them this year while in town appraising for the Destination Imagination Sectional Tournament. Needed to be on-site by 06:30 on a Saturday, so I appreciated that they were open early! Decided to come in vs the drive-through option. Nice decor that looks like a cross between a Flea Market and an Antique store. I appreciate places that don't try to look like "the other guys." Very warm and intriguing. A visual feast for those of us prone to adult A.D.D.! Had places allowing small groups to sit and enjoy if they wished. As a first-timer, I greatly appreciated the online ordering option, as we were just a tad behind schedule and coming in from Bluemound in Brookfield. Was easy to navigate their site on my phone. Arrived 10 minutes earlier than expected. Was easy to locate via GPS. Inside, the staff were exceptionally friendly. Coffee is now ubiquitous with daily life in America, which brings me to Qamaria Coffee. Hatem and Munif are two Yemeni entrepreneurs with a passion for Yemeni Coffee and the joint goal of wanting to share it with the world. They founded Qamaria Coffee in 2019 to accomplish this task and in January 2024, they opened a location near Milwaukee in Greenfield, WI. Qamaria offers a variety of dessert options, including a Chocolate Tres Leches, Pistachio Tres Leches, and Caramel Tres Leches cakes. I went with the caramel version, which is described by the cafe as "A decadent caramel treat inspired by tres leches cake, creamy, sweet, and irresistibly smooth". If you've never had Tres Leches Cake, it's a light sponge cake soaked in three types of milk (evaporated, condensed, and whole) that's popular in Latin America. The cake originated in Nicaragua during the 19th century, so on first glance it's not exactly a Yemeni dessert. Doing some research, Middle Eastern variations exist that feature cardamom or rose water and some Qamaria locations do have a Rose Tres Leches. It's fine that the Greenfield location did not have that variety as I honestly would have got the caramel version anyway. My slice was perfectly moist as there was plenty of milk soaked in, but not so much that it made a mess or compromised the structure of the cake. The bottom layer was soft and Tiramisu-like in texture, while the cream on top was rich and thick. Personally, I found the caramel flavor to be mild, but delicious. All four of us had greens with a vinaigrette dressing that came with our sandwiches. To me the vinaigrette was just OK, however, I ate my entire salad because I really wanted the vegetables. My husband tasted his and didn't eat anymore. He thought it was gross. I would suggest they offer the vinaigrette and have another kind of dressing as an option. As someone else said, I ordered a glass of water, and was taken aback when I was given bottled water and charged for it. I routinely order ice water at most places I eat at and don't get charged. I do think the wait staff should tell you that they only have bottled water. I was admiring the baked goods and decided to get a fruit tart. As someone else said, there are no prices on the items. It definitely wasn't a situation where they were overly busy and overwhelmed as there was no line. The service was just incredibly sluggish. It's not on the menu, but they can make a variation of the "Hot Cream Earl Grey Tea Latte" with vanilla and lavender added. Unfortunately, they didn't have lavender syrup. Drinks are served only in paper cups, with no ceramic option. Pastry selection was limited -- no scones or danish -- so I ordered a Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin. After a short wait my order was ready. The tea latte was extremely hot and needed nearly 10 minutes to cool before I could drink it. Once cooled, it was fine, but I really missed the lavender.
