The comfortable as spacious cafe is among the many reason this Starbucks location is a gem!

This Starbucks location is literally an oasis ! If you've ever driven highway 14/Sierra highway...it's pretty desolate after leaving the town of Lancaster. One doesn't even have to exit...this Starbucks just appears! We stopped, got our favorite (reliably good) coffee drinks and snacks. Was able to chill out on their comfy chairs while enjoying our order. Lots of well organized and clean tables and relatively comfortable chairs for all types of travelers through the area. Service was fast and efficient and also has a drive through.

Inside was pretty dirty at this location

With chain businesses, you generally know what to expect--but I've found that the bar tends to be even lower when you're in the desert. This wasn't the greatest experience, but it served its purpose. The cashier was pretty rude when I asked about the "summer berry lemonade." Her response was, "It's summer berry and lemonade,"--as if I was asking a ridiculous question. I laughed it off and clarified, "No, what's actually in it?" She replied, "Boba." I then asked what kind, since the boba was different colors, and she just stared at me. I followed up with, "Popping boba? What flavor?" and she just said, "Yeah." Like... what? Why the attitude? I was just trying to understand what was in the drink. I just smiled, paid, and still said thank you. The drink itself was overly sweet and took a long time to prepare. The space was also a bit dirty. Dust everywhere. Still, it was a place to grab a drink and use free WiFi for about an hour--but I wouldn't stop here again when passing through. Date of service: 6/3/25 @ 4:40 pm #63697 (Reg 1).

This is our go to Starbucks when up the 395, not only do they have good customer service but they are fast In getting your order out. The girl that took our order was very nice it's always hit or miss with some people who aren't friendly but this wasn't the case here. This Starbucks is very big from the inside and a lot of places to hang and chill. There was a big table for you to study or catch up on a book but several areas to sit for sure. The bathrooms when I walked in were a bit messy with toilet paper on the floor and very dirty not sure why people can't use the restroom like adults honestly but as I was walking out there was someone who was already cleaning and adding more paper and all. I did notice some homeless people inside so that might be it or just people looking for WiFi regardless they cleaned up pretty fast. We still enjoy this spot as a rest stop for sure.

Came in, got a drink. Clean. No language barriers. No weird smells. No attitudes. Some of u complaing about what time Google says they open or about the music they are playing & about the female singers in the song, ARE TOTAL DIVAS. Get a life

Puppuccino snap shots at the drive thru window

What a relief it was to see this familiar place with a drive thru, at night, heading north on the 14. The line was short and fast. The conditions were very windy and the person who handed me my grande drip held it with great care so it didn't blow away. If you order a puppuccino, it looks like you might get your dog's picture taken for the display covered in Fuji Instax exposures. Very cute.

I am so happy to update this review. We just received amazing service from Helen. As soon as we pulled up to order Helen was so friendly . She had just the kindest voice and so helpful with recommendations. We took her advise and wow the drink were delicious. I can't have them but I took a sip. Family was happy. I was able to tell her manager about her outstanding customer service. Make sure to tip her well she deserves it.

Always look forward on our stop in Mohave. Great service w/ a smile a welcome smile by everyone (all employees from server to Manager!) on a stop Saturday morning on a busy President's weekend. Quality coffee and lemon treat. Special pup cups made our day.

Quick coffee n snacks! Nice and spacious inside:). Free parking, truck stops galore, a drive thru, and solar powered baristas.

Got off to grab a coffee on a long drive back to Northern California. Hours posted everywhere are 4am- 10pm. Arrived at 9:35pm and they were closed. Very annoying to get off the highway, take a detour, and then show up 25 minutes before posted closing time to a locked door and employees trying to ignore you from inside.

Shaken espresso mostly ice.

This Starbucks is new and clean. The service was quick the food was nice and hot. But the drinks were lacking in quantity. Ordered a venti mocha no whip and they filled in only 3/4 of the way. Also ordered a shaken espresso that was mostly ice. Very disappointed in the amount of coffee we received for the price we paid. I do not recommend this Starbucks. You are better off going up the street to McDonalds. I will likely give them a second chance just to see if they have corrected their product quantity.

was supposed to be an iced chai tea latte with coconut milk, a blonde shot, ristretto, 2 pumps of vanilla and cinnamon

My order was wrong I received two drinks from the employee at the drive thru window. He told me the drink was an extra drink they made and he gave it to me. When I taste the fist drink handed to me it tasted weird but I wasn't tripping when I finally taste the second drink it's what I ordered a drink my daughter wanted me to try so I ordered it. My iced chi tea was in one cup and all my add ones were in a separate cup. All they had to do was remake the drink. Employee had Bad communication.

They don't open the store until 5am. Yelp says they open at 4:30am. Google says they open at 4am. Drive thru is open at 4am.

Too watered down! They remade my drink but still too much ice. This location is fairly new and maybe in a few more months it will be better.

The turkey ciabatta was flavorful, had the right amount of meat, cheese & pesto to the bread ratio. The grilled cheese was good, the balsamic drizzle was missing, would have just made it better.. it was good without it. Our barista was focused on completing the orders, which is great for the traveler wanting to get back on the road, not so much for the friendly idle chitchatter! It's all good! We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon knitting club was there knitting and pearling away while they sipped delicious coffee and ate delicacies from the baked goods. We were there for the delicious turkey ciabatta sandwich. The bread is toasted and it just makes the turkey spinach and tomato covered with melted provolone so much more tasty I chatted a while with members of the knitting club while we waited for our sandwich. They're there every Sunday and they knit for people that have cancer who need hats to stay warm. It's a great community up here in Tehachapi. I was impressed with it several years ago when we held a dance recital here this coffee shop seems to be sort of a club of community activity. The only downside is it does take a while to get your order because they're busy, but that sandwich was worth waiting for, and it made the miles from Tehachapi to Mojave speed by

I turned away from Starbucks a while ago because I prefer to shop small any time I can. The prices are pretty average for what seems to be a small locally owned business, but the amount you get for what you pay for is stellar. The barista is always very kind and patient with the new drinks I want to try, and makes suggestions that have ended in a s'mores frappe more than once to get me through the drive home as the drinks stay good in the fridge! I'd 100% recommend it over any other place around. I'll be visiting again soon!

I rather drive 20minuted to lobo coffee shop in Lancaster than buy a coffee from this place again And the hours are so dumb smh. To the white lady in white glasses nothing against you but please have a better attitude next time and maybe buy better coffee beans. I love supporting small places specially women owned and I love that they support our military in town but definitely tasteless coffee. very bland coffee beans with just a bunch of sweet syrups added.

Tuesday, March 10th, we traveled to Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle I had purchased, and of course had to stop by Kohnen's. My wife and I split a Tuna and Cheddar Panini, and a loaded Turkey (we arrived too late for Sourdough!!). It is difficult to walk away without a mini-pie (try them all, but blackberry is freaking amazing!!). As always, Danelle was there with her typical congeniality and work ethic! We love her!! And I got to tell her about her doppelgänger in a restaurant in Yucaipa!! They do exist!! In summary, eat at Kohnen's!! Say hi to Danelle!

I visited Kohnen's Bakery Tehachapi yesterday with my family, and this was honestly one of the…read moreworst customer service experiences I've ever had. I only purchased two items -- one cream puff and one slice of cheesecake -- but the cashier charged my card THREE times due to repeated mistakes. Here's exactly what happened: 1) My first card (Card A) was charged $11.20. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said yes. Then she told me the receipt didn't come out because the transaction "didn't go through," and asked me to provide my card again. 2) I gave the same card again, and this time she charged $11.69. 3) Then again, she told me that it didn't go through, so I used a different debit card (Card B), which was charged $11.20. While sitting at the table with my family, I immediately checked my bank account and thought I had only been charged twice. I spoke to a staff member at the store and requested a refund for one of the $11.20 charges, which was processed. However, today I realized I had actually been charged three times, meaning there was still another $11.20 that needed to be refunded. So I called the bakery and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with someone named Danielle. I calmly explained the entire situation and told her I would send all my receipts and bank transaction records by email so they could double-check and confirm everything. She said ok and gave me their email address, but it was very long, and I was concerned about making a mistake while writing it down. So I politely asked if she could text me the email address instead. Her response was extremely rude -- she said, "I'm not required to do that," and told me to just write it down myself if I had a pen and paper. Although I was already uncomfortable with her attitude, I carefully wrote it down and sent the email. However, the email bounced back as invalid, even though I had confirmed the spelling with her multiple times over the phone. When I called again, Danielle answered and said, "Ma'am," in a very dismissive tone, and told me that they had found the three charges and had already processed refunds for both $11.20 transactions. I tried to confirm which card the refund was going to, since I used two different cards, but after putting me on hold for a long time, she read off a card number that was not mine. When I told her that wasn't my card, she insisted those were the only transactions for $11.20 yesterday and told me to "check my bank in a few days" and call back if the refund doesn't show up. And, she didn't apologize for the mistake, even though they charged my cards three times and wasted a significant amount of my time. Even yesterday, when I asked for an apology, I only received one reluctantly after I pointed out that they had made a mistake -- and even then, the response was dismissive, as if I should just accept it because they were "taking care of it." The attitude throughout this entire situation was rude, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. The cheesecake was very good. But because of this experience, I would never come back. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Tehachapi with my family, expecting a pleasant visit, but this bakery completely ruined the day. Being charged a total of $34.09 for just two small items due to repeated errors is unacceptable. If your staff cannot properly process payments, they should not be working as cashiers. Situations like this should never happen. What's even worse is that after making multiple mistakes, there was not a single sincere apology -- only attitude, dismissiveness, and instructions for me to keep checking my bank and call back again. My time is valuable. This entire situation could have been avoided if things were handled properly from the beginning. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I am very disappointed. Cf) For reference, the other $16.05 receipt is for bread that my brother purchased.
