If you are looking for a great iced coffee, look no further!…read more This place is located in a bustling area of St. Paul! It's street parking but it is free. Walking in, there are lots of wood accents, stools, booths and PLENTY of plug ins if you want to come here and study/get work done! The service was disappointing to be honest. This place had the vibes to have such a fun crew working and instead we barely even got 2 words for the person who rang us up. The person who made our drinks also had zero interaction. Such a missed opportunity! This is why I removed a star. The coffee: This is one of my new favorite coffees I have ever had! I got an iced whipped honey latte and it was DELICIOUS! The coffee wasn't overly bitter, had good flavor and the whipped honey was definitely a unique treat! Overall, I really did enjoy my time at this coffee shop! It definitely can get busy but don't let that deter you from getting a delicious coffee from these guys! Oh and yes, they do have some snack/lunch/bakery items here to if you get hungry!!

That big dollop of whipped honey on top is unreal. The space itself is great for getting work done. Lots of natural light, big open windows, and different seating options that makes it feel really inviting. It can get pretty busy during peak times, so finding a seat can be a little tricky but they have a shared table system where you can grab a card if you're open to sitting with others. It's such a fun, community-focused touch and a great way to meet people or just make space when it's crowded. The staff is super kind and welcoming, which makes it even better. They also do a great job with their seasonal drinks and pastries.

I have a love / anxiety relationship with how different coffee can be at different establishments…read more That being said, I get a hankering for different coffees from different places. This is one on my love it list. The atmosphere and charm of @spyhousecoffee in St.Paul is simplistic and classic. Their other locations include: Whittier Uptown Northeast Northloop Downtown/Emery Rochester My go to item here is: Iced Caramella with Oat Milk Their pastries are lovely as well. They pair especially well if you want slow down to really enjoy your beverage, be off the phones and just take in the coziness/hustle of a coffee shop. More of a hang-out-with-friends coffee shop than a hunker-down-with-your-laptop spot. There was dance music playing on the speakers and lots of chatter. Not a bad thing at all, that's just the vibe here. I got an iced coffee from their specials menu and it hit the spot. I'd get it again except that I don't quite remember its deal. I also got a danish that was fine, but sometimes I feel like this type of coffee shop has a pastry case just to give you the bare minimum to eat while you're drinking what you're really there for. They have a cute patio that feels like someone's back yard, but a lot more seating is available inside. I'm glad I finally tried a Spyhouse and I'll likely return.

They have a huge variety of beans, and they will grind them for you if you like. The shop is small, and it has that awesome coffee aroma inside and out, but their coffee is plenty expensive. Also, be warned that if you're the type of person who likes to enjoy their coffee without politics, you might be somewhat put off by the Liberal-forward vibe of this shop, what with some of the coffees being named after Liberal politicians, ie "Obama Blend" or as others have mentioned here a coffee named after Bernie Sanders. The staff at the shop were always polite enough to me, and I never experienced name calling as another reviewer did, but then I don't wear my politics on my sleeve or confront others about theirs. After all, I only went there to buy coffee, not change the world or anyone's philosophical, political, or religious views. Recently, (January 2026), I drove the 15 some-odd miles to their shop only to find they had closed that day to attend protests in a "No Work, No School, No Shopping" strike due to law enforcement activity in the cities. I enjoy supporting local small businesses, but the "Politics First, Customer Last" business model doesn't work for me. Besides, I feel like they must be doing pretty well financially if they can just close up shop unannounced without so much as a notification on their website or phone answering message to warn customers who might actually be driving a fair distance, burning real gasoline which costs real money, to buy their stuff. I liked their coffee, but it just isn't worth the expense or inconvenience to me anymore, so I go elsewhere.
