We were looking for an afternoon pick me up, after a long day of driving. We spotted a Starbucks and decided to make a stop in. I tried to order ahead online but the app said this location was closed and it definitely wasn't. The drive thru was insane so I figured it would be inside too, Without having a choice, I placed an order inside and luckily there was no line. The line waiting for orders to be made was huge though. Starbucks is truly notorious for being understaffed or having employees who socialize and just don't care. This location appeared to be understaffed because the employee were truly all hard at work. Awww man! I was so bummed when I walked into this road side Starbucks to get an early morning PSL and they were out of it!! What!! During the height of pumpkin season, that's a no no! I returned the next day cause I needed an Iced Coconutmilk Cascara Latte with Starbucks Blonde Espresso, 3 pumps of vanilla and 2 shots espresso. Other locations have ruined it but this one is consistent and always good. Worth the drive for sure. Pro Tip: I suggest taking the time to order through the app about 5 minutes before you arrive. Well overall as a local we visit here often. The drinks are typically Good. The first complaint I have is that the place has reeked of spoiled milk for weeks. The second complaint is that The lobby closed on a Monday at 6:40 or 6:50 pm while we were inside. Mind you the Starbucks stays open to 10:00 pm. We ordered our drinks and watched countless would be customers leave due to the lobby being closed. I know they are busy but a worker was leaving but she didn't clean anything before she left. I wonder why the manager didn't tell her sweep the dining area and wipe tables before she leaves. But she made her two drinks and said bye see you tomorrow. So take it how you want it. I see plenty busy Starbucks else where but they were able to keep both areas clean. This is the first Starbucks where I felt like the employees lacked any kind of enthusiasm or caring about their customers. First the drive-thru line took forever to get through. Then when we got to the window the employee wanted to rush us through and was not overly polite. I had ordered an iced cinnamon dolce latte which did not have the cinnamon sprinkle mixture in it. I did a mobile order of 5 drinks and when I picked them up, received quite the negative attitude for asking for toppers and a beverage carrier. Previously was a great place to start your day! Now on the other hand the store is not perfect. Several issues need to be taken more seriously. 1. Entrance needs to be monitored for trash and debris. 2. The cleanliness of the establishment should definitely be addressed. Inside trash cans should be emptied; countertops wiped down (spilled coffee, milk and sugar), floors swept. I will not even begin to address the baristas work areas or restrooms. All you need to do is read other reviews on Yelp. 3. Product management/inventory should be more efficiently managed. No reason to be out of coffee, ice, straws, napkins, etc. 4. The store employees should have more structure. Their should be daily tasks assigned to each employee and executed. Accountability is a key component of succeeding. All employees should be proud and encouraged to perform at the highest level. 4. It seems to be difficult to keep store managers. Management is a revolving door, no transparency and expectations are low. It is of my opinion that there seems to be a lack of respect and loyalty to the employees in the service arena. Many, many employees have gone the extra mile to be available to provide continuous service to the consumers only at the end of the day, Starbucks, in particular, gives them a much deserved increase in salary only to cut their weekly hours resulting in less take home pay. Did all the executives at Starbucks take a reduction in pay or forego a bonus so other employees could continue to support their families? Where is the fairness and justice in this? Sounds like a no win situation for all the Starbuck employees. I will not continue supporting this business. I do know how to make coffee at home and also know of many websites that provide the recipes for the majority of their drinks. Shame on you - STARBUCKS! For closure. Prompt service without rushing your order. I got the Grande Caramel Macchiato on my first order. It was lightly sweet at first with cream at the bottom but ice the cream was gone, it was more strong. I may mix it next time. I added two Splendas to make it better. The caramel was under my lid rather than in my drink. This is not the best spot for business calls as it was loud with music and taking orders. I would suggest Burger King as its quieter. Stopped into the Lumbarton Starbucks on my way through NC to Charleston and talk about hot-mess express. Yes, there was a line for the drive-thru so they were a bit busy, but there were spills on multiple surfaces, the pick-up counter was disorganized, the trash was spilling onto the floor, and the other customers seemed frustrated and confused about their order status. It's right off 95 so I'm sure it gets random bursts of people, but I'm sure small tweaks would make worlds of improvement to make the shop feel more welcoming and cared for. read more

I had by far the worst Starbucks experience here. EXTREMELY slow service and untrained cashier. Took over 15 minutes to order with only 2 people in front of me. Person in front of me had a complex order and the poor cashier had to ask someone else (a barista) making drinks 3 times how to ring it. Also, 3 people making drink but cashier had double duty to make food. Bathroom was also dirty which is uncharacteristic of Starbucks. Also, almost all the snack bins in the racks were empty and almost nothing in the refrigerated grab and go food case. Lumberton is my hometown and I LOVE the fact that we have a Starbucks! I've been here a few times and haven't really had any issues so y'all wanna hear it? Well here it go: We ordered a Reduced-fat Turkey bacon sandwich, oatmeal, and two grande blondes. Our food came out pretty quickly but it took about 10 minutes on our coffee. I thought they must've had to brew it fresh but it turns out that they just hadn't poured it.
