It's a Waffle House! Whaddya expect? We decided to go here after driving for hours from NJ. The kids wanted to experience Waffle House for the first time. Went we entered, the place smelled like a Pool area at your YMCA. Oh boy! The food was not bad. The Pork Chops were dry, though. Good enough to fuel yourself up and get back on the road. The waitress was friendly. I'll give them that. It was pretty uneventful, for the most part. Just when we were about to leave, we saw the whole kitchen was flooded. The thing about Waffle House is that you always know what you are going to get. The franchise does an amazing job of that. I wonder if they have secret shoppers that go around the country ensuring consistency to the brand. I'd apply for that job! This location is a good one. It's clean, especially the bathroom which is not always the case. The service is friendly - it's obvious that the locals love it here, as the staff greeted many by name. That's always a good sign. The food was good and came out fast. Hubby's steak was even cooked to perfection (mid-rare), which is not easy with a thin breakfast steak. Everything you want in a Waffle House. Solid breakfast food anytime of the day. We checked into out hotel late and this place was literally in walking distance across from our hotel. I ordered their grits bowl with egg over easy with sausage $3. It's part of their value menu and it was a perfect amount of food. I also had their hashbrown covered plus waffles. For some reason I always over order when I am at a Waffle House It was delicious and really hit the spot. Great sevice and food best way to end the day. read more

Waffle House's are a dime a dozen off the highway. So using your handy Yelp app can save you the aggravation of one that is not performing up to par. I did use my app to locate this WH and several others came up within a 15 mile radius. This was the best, but I kept in mind only two reviews. Just off of I95 it's an easy off and on and less than a half mile from the ramp. Several hotels are across the street and I think that I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express directly across the street at one time. The parking lot was clean, the sidewalks were clean and the windows and seals of the building were clean. This is pretty amazing considering road dust right off the highway... this was a great start. Due to it being late morning I did not expect it to be too busy. However, I was surprised that they were full. However, my son and I scored a few seats at the bar while others waited for a booth. My first observation was this was the cleanest WH back area I have ever seen and I promptly took a pic. Keep in mind this was late morning, I was pretty stunned. Anyone that has seen my reviews of WH know what was ordered. GRAND SLAM all the way baby! The waitress was very nice and got drinks out immediately. I quickly noticed something was going on here that struck me as odd for a roadside stop. There were a lot of locals and regulars that you usually do not see on a highway stop. The staff was chatting up several customers and I had to think this was a good sign. It only took around 8-10 minutes for our food to begin to be plated. It came out in a few waves which I never mind at WH and actually prefer with a Grand Slam. Everything looked good, it tasted good and I was pleased. A customer beside me struck up a conversation with me and confirmed my suspicion that this is a locals restaurant. She has been coming here for years and enjoys it. Time to get back on the road and the bill was already at the table. A quick stop at the restrooms and another WH shocker. They were not only clean, but spacious too. Everything worked and soap was available. As we stepped up to pay the bill a phone call came across for another employee. I then learned when trying to pay by credit card that they only have one line... pretty funny I thought. The employee told who ever it was to call back, so all good to keep us moving. I would say this is one of best overall WH experiences I've had. I let the manager know before departing too. read more

My family had a craving for Waffle House at night. We drove to this one. It wasn't full or nothing so we thought service would be good. Once arriving we were given plastic utensils. We just got Waffles. They were all crispy and falling apart. Definitely don't recommend this restaurant. read more

Ok service. Employees were loud and not attentive to customers. Maybe because it was 11:00 pm. They were more interested in their pizza and wings getting delivered. Not very tidy. We stopped in Fayetteville the morning prior and it was a totally different experience. Much cleaner, great customer service and clean. We tipped them well. No tip here. read more

My first time at a Waffle House. Wasn't expecting much and got what I was expecting. Food was mediocre, waffles came after all our other food was eaten, decor was not much to write home about. Would I go again? Sure, if I was starving like I was today. The main reason I'm writing, though, is to thank our waitress, Stephanie, with the gorgeous hazel eyes. She had a great attitude and a big smile and made our visit worthwhile and memorable. After traveling for almost 3 months all over the US in our RV, my husband and I have come across all types of humans. Husband and I walked in at 9:30pm no one said welcome. Three minutes in, the server said they would help us soon and they did not introduce themselves. Asked for coffee with creamer and she fills the coffee cups to the top so I can't add hardly any creamer and sugar. She grabs the entire container of creamers from the refrigerator and just grabs a couple handfuls of creamers and puts it on the table instead of putting it in the small dish like every other Waffle House. There was a creamer that had gone bad and I poured it in to my coffee without knowing and asked if she could replace it. No eye contact, no apology she takes the cup and pours another cup of coffee the same way up to the top and puts it on the table without a word spoken. We place our order. I asked for three eggs scrambled with cheese and she interrupts me asking if it wanted grits and three times I told her no. My husband ordered the bacon hash brown bowl and she asked if he wanted eggs with it. It is supposed to come with eggs why did she ask that? Hash browns I ordered were not scattered and well done as I asked and it looked like they served me two eggs scrambled with no cheese. I told her that I ordered three eggs scrambled with cheese so she picks up my plate without a word spoken and proceeded to throw cheese on the pan and grabs the scrambled eggs off the plate and add it to the pan of cheese. That was the last straw. I have never walked out of a restaurant and we walked out of this Waffle House and I will never return. The server was absolutely rude and dismissive, quiet and ambivalent. This is the 2nd time we've attempted to have breakfast here at about 4:30am. Instead of the staff sleeping 2 of 5 of them were cleaning, 1 was doing nothing until the cook asked her to wait on us and she refused to wait on us and got busy doing slips, the cook just hung out and the last one just stood by the register! We selected a table in the area where they were not cleaning and we were the ONLY 2 customers. After waiting a few minutes my husband asked 2 times if we could get waited on and no one would. In fact one of the 2 cleaning asked us to move so she could sweep under the table. When that happened my husband asked for a 3rd time what it would take to get waited on and no one responded. So we left. Spent a total about 10 minutes trying to get service and nothing. We to another Waffle House at exit 20 in Lumberton where we were greeted and waited on promptly. Stopped here with my husband for lunch on our way home to Florida. He was eager to show me how great WH food was after reading a review in Bon Appetit. I was very skeptical but the chicken sandwich I got was hot and JUICY (when does that happen at a fast food restaurant) and the chef smothered it with grilled onions at my request. YUMMY. But what clinched it for me was the bathroom was updated and CLEAN. Yes, I am a believer. Off exit 22 - you should go and remember what real grilling is about. read more
