The Deets: I've stopped in at this Food Lion location in Elizabethtown a few times. It's your typical Food Lion, nothing much to set it apart from others. They have your typical selection, I do find the layout not as friendly as most stores but the necessities are there to find. One thing is that the self checkout credit card machines can be a bit temperamental but staff have been there to help out. The parking lot is usually near full most times we have gone so they appear to be busy and on a main road like Broad St/87 they get a good bit of traffic in and out. Solid as far as Food Lion stores go to serve E'town.

When I arrived to the Food Lion order pick-up area, I called the number listed on the placard to…read morelet an associate know I was ready to pick up my groceries. After calling three times and getting the same recording that the employees are very busy at this time and to please call back later. I called back a fourth time and picked a different option to reach the store manager. I let the person who answered the phone know my last name and which slot my car was in. I was told they would be out shortly. Shortly came and went. After waiting twenty minutes I went into the store and found Lori, the manager. I told her I called twenty minutes ago and I had given my name to a lady who said my pick up order would be out shortly. I told her since the groceries never appeared I decided to come in and get them. Lori said she didn't take the call and walked away from me. Here I am standing in Food Lion and even the manager can't / won't / doesn't want to help me locate my pick-up order. So I followed Lori and I said aren't you the manager to which she said yes. I said if you are the manager then I would expect that you could help me find my groceries and not just walk away. So it appears that you really just don't give a damn. She said nothing. What could she say?? A very nice young male employee then came up to me and said he had found the order and would be happy to take them out to the car. So a big thank you to that nice gentleman. It is extremely disappointing that the store manager, Lori, just walked off and didn't want to be bothered to help me find my order because as she stated and I quote, "I didn't take the call." In this particular instance, Lori certainly didn't exhibit any concern for the customer and she certainly didn't set a good example for her employees to follow.

James Hodge, James Hodge, James Hodge is his name. So I went to check out and my items rang up…read moretwice as much as the advertised sign beneath the product stated. When the cashier called over the manager to have the transaction cancelled I politely mentioned that there was a sale sign that stated they were much cheaper and on sale. This man, James Hodge, INSTANTLY began raging at me in front of multiple people telling me how wrong I was and that I smarted off to him, etc., etc. I mean he was seriously rude and loud. Which I guess stating the facts is smarting off to him. Long story short, I went back and looked when I was through checking out my other groceries and they had put the correct sign under the product and moved the one I saw to where it was supposed to be. To be clear, this isn't about the product not being advertised properly, it's about James Hodge needing a good long training session in customer relations. My vindication however is knowing he went back there, as did another lady that argued with me, and saw that I was right.

This Walmart is just off Broad street and has a large parking lot…read more It has food and other departments such as clothing, art supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. like a super Walmart, but it's smaller than most. The isles are very crowded and there is not much variety in the departments I checked. We didn't stay in the store long, we were looking for something specific and they didn't have it. I've been in much better but been in worse too.
