Bottom line: The Publix location in OIB is a clean, nice, well stocked, good sized, and organized…read moregrocery store. Of note is a pretty large wine selection for a grocery store. Competitively priced for the area and no service speedbumps experienced yet here. The Deets: This Publix is the one of the newest grocery stores in the Ocean Isle Beach area, and the one nearest to the island at this time. It's a very nice and clean store, as most Publix locations usually are, and spacious with plenty to offer. The layout is conducive to finding things you need in a fairly reasonable amount of time and not confusing to me. They offer the usual stations such as bakery, deli, etc. but they do not offer a seafood market (not that it is necessary as there are some around OIB). Their wine section is pretty extensive for a grocery store (see pic). I found the grocery prices to be comparatively more reasonable here for the most part, definitely something to be noted. I have not witnessed or experienced any service hiccups along any trips here. This Publix is a welcomed addition the OIB vicinity, and glad it offers some competition for the grocery business in the area.

I am lowering my rating one star due to price gouging and issues at self serve checkout. Wanted…read moresome Honeycrisp apples, they were $3.95 a pound and organic ones were $5.05 a pound! Honeycrisp apples at Food Lion are $1.79 a pound, yes that is right, Food Lion $2.16 a pound less than Publix. Also, the self checkouts do not accept cash which is annoying. Food Lion and Lowe's, their self serve checkouts accept cash, why can't the ones at Publix?

How well does this Fresh Market location watch over its customers needs? AMAZINGLY so! I believe…read morethe people here are so wonderful, I use to give every employee a pair of movie theater tickets on 4th of July and Christmas as way to say "Thank you!" Under the direction of managers Jonathan and John (no relation) they certainly go above and beyond servicing shoppers. Have been coming to this Fresh Market over 15 years and in all that time, can say the quality, selection, and assistance has proven to be excellent. Additionally when issues (which sometimes do come up) need to be addressed, they have always made it right with a smile. Its always nice to see familiar friendly faces that have been here as long as I've been a customer. The local feel and flavor comes across. Well stocked, clean, and people with a fantastic attitude, make this Fresh Market a cool vibe shopping experience. They carry sanitizing wipes, adhere to social distancing and employees are wearing masks. Parking is never an issue as the lot is huge. As always, thanks for reading and wishing everyone be safe and well!

I have been SO disappointed in this store lately. I went in 3 times looking for ribs on the hot…read moretable. None. When they finally had them, I got 2 racks, but they were totally BURNT. I've had jerky that was more moist and tender. Almond cookies I bought today were barely cooked. the powdered sugar was dumped on after they were stacked in the in the box so it only got on half the cookie. Like the ribs, I just threw them out. An expensive chicken Cesar salad had two small pieces of chicken and the lettuce had brown edges. The rice in a spicy shrimp sushi was so old it was crunchy. I'm not wasting my money here anymore.
