Just waited in drive thru line for 15 min with only two cars in front of me. It took them that long to get to the first car. When I pulled up to get my small coffee, and asked about the long wait, the barista said, "Oh, we had a huge mobile order." Sooooo, you take care of an order from someone who is not physically there, and force your drive-thru customers to wait? And it's not just the drive thru. Previous time ordered a small coffee inside, waited 15 minutes again before a manager noticed and apologized. She did give me a gift card, which I appreciated. This was the closest coffee shop near Hillcrest Avenue where the the 3 block stretch seriously decorate for Halloween. Service was quick and friendly. The coffee was hot and the fact that this is one of the few remaining Starbucks that doesn't have a combination that you need to use the bathroom is a plus. Of course this location is not on TripAdvisor despite being here for many years. read more

We often visit this location around Halloween to grab drinks for our visit to Hillcrest. Tonight was super empty. We were greeted and helped right away, waiting only a few minutes for our drinks. Each time I've order here for the past month I'm served a cup full of ice even when I request light ice in my matcha latte. I get the same thing every time and it's discouraging given its two blocks from my house. And they skimp HARD on any additives like simple syrup or drizzle etc. Come on guys. I always feel bad for coming to this Starbucks because I am inconveniencing the people who work and normally patronize the establishment. They are always so friendly and fast! One of my favorite locations!! This morning (Saturday) I pulled into the parking lot at 7:53. They were quick to respond to me on the drive-thru. I was pulling away from the window with my delicious hot latte at 7:55. 2 minutes service -- and that including a short chat with the guy about the holiday sticker program and my favorite syrup still being available. This newly remodeled Starbucks looks fresh and modern. They provide Starbucks coffee, Espresso beverages, teas, Frappuccinos, and pastries. The store remodel looks great, but I was surprised to see the entire staff not in Starbucks uniform standards. There is also a lack of seating. Before the remodel there were plenty of places to sit inside and out. The new furniture is sleek but lacks in comfort. read more

Starbucks was busy today! I'm so glad so many people were out voting. I started to wait in the drive thru line but decided to go inside instead. The cashier was very friendly. She used my name and I appreciated how genuine she was. I ordered egg bites and lattes. The cashier apologized for not having what I wanted and offered a substitute, which was perfect. While this location is often conveniently located for me, it is also one of the slowest in regards to both in store and drive thru service. I have waited 12-15 minutes in the drive thru on one recent visit. Yesterday after a 6 min drive thru wait just to order I tried to get a Cinnamon Shortbread latte but they were out of something for it. I then tried a passion tea and couldn't get that either. I should've just left the drive thru & gone elsewhere. Today I swore I was going elsewhere but again, the convenience factor.... they were out of two basic drinks I tried to order so ended up with an iced mocha I didn't particularly even want. Stopped into this Starbucks for a Cup of Joe and was thoroughly impressed by the employees at the store. The drive-thru was hoppin on this warm, summery day so decided to go inside. Upon entering the location noticed that there were a lot of baristas and each one seemed to be providing great customer service to the customers that they were working with. Ordered a Flat White and a Cinnamon Dolce Latte (Soy) for the better half. All in all, service was great and the coffee was delicious. There is a patio outside which is an added touch for customers to people watch. It's located in the heart of St. Matthews so it makes for a nice place for people to stop while still being close to the nearby shopping places. read more

I went today to get two peppermint mochas. The cost was $11.13. I gave the person a $50 and was told they don't have change. I questioned that they've been open for over 9 hours and don't have $39 in their cash drawer. I was given two options use a credit card or cancel my order. I canceled my order and went to a second Starbucks and was told the same thing. I'm now at Heine Brothers enjoying a great peppermint mocha that cost less than Starbucks. My wife and I wanted to grab a couple hot chocolates before driving around to look at Christmas lights. We knew this Starbucks closed at 9:00, so we hurried and made it there by 8:52. I noticed the lights were still on and saw two employees inside as we drove to the drive thru speaker. We sat there for a minute or two before I said, "hello?" into the speaker. I eventually drove around to the front so we could walk inside, since nobody was answering. That's when we noticed the lights were shut off. And I realized that when I saw an employee start to run inside a couple minutes earlier, it wasn't to get ready for our order, it was to shut off the lights and make it look like they were closed. If you want good coffee this may not be the place to go. (Try Sunergos or Quills.) But, if you are just wanting a caffeine or sugar fix it will do the job. Iced coffees and lattes, especially the seasonal lattes, are good choices. The blueberry muffins and scones are great, as well as the breakfast sandwiches. This is an interesting location. It seems that some of the staff are very friendly and easygoing while others are not so. The seating is very limited and crammed into a small space. Honestly, there have been multiple times that I have gone and there was not any seating available. The selling point of this location for me is that it is close to my house and it has a drive-thru. read more

I wish I could say this is a rare occurrence, but as someone who has visited this Starbucks regularly for years, this Starbucks has gone downhill quickly - extremely long waits (both in store and at the drive thru), inaccurate orders, and unfriendly staff. Really good location and super friendly staff, a line can form at times but in general the folks are all over it and service is quick.

The barista did not tell me my drink was ready which took an abnormally long amount of time and just let it sit on the counter for 10 mins. I get that the staff is young but customer service should be the top priority. The store is clean but staff need's to be retrained on how to handle the after work rush. Management need's to set a higher expectation for their staff. read more

This is the best starbucks in the city! My order was taken at a steady pace by the very friendly cashier and i was given suggestions on the new holiday menu. This is a solid Starbucks location. We all have been to plenty of Starbucks so the general gist is that they sell coffee at a high price and then allow you to purchase pastries and other breakfast foods at request. That aside, I always receive Starbucks gift cards and I am not one to waste. My man friend and I decided to come in to use a newly received gift card for some coffee and breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was fairly crowded but not overwhelmingly so. Most of the patrons were enjoying some reading or laptopping or other things people enjoy doing at coffee shops. We didn't have to wait long in line. I ordered a small or shall I say tall black coffee with the Turkey Bacon and Egg White sandwich. My man friend ordered the Spinach and Feta wrap with a water. My man friend is vegetarian and the only sandwiches in the counter had meat on them, but after inquiring they stated they had the wrap and an egg and cheese sandwich as alternatives. The staff here were very nice and accommodating even with some of our confusion. All in all this is a worthy Starbucks location. read more
