Speaking specifically of this location (Bauer Farm Dr, Lawrence KS). I have ALWAYS, for 30+ years been for supporting local coffee shops, but due to a work schedule change, this became my only real viable morning latte. What I have learned over about 9 months of going here most days of the week is that it's really the baristas that make a coffee shop, not the name on the sign. While the Starbucks brand has never been my favorite, the clean, well kept seating area, restrooms and that stellar staff certainly make this Starbucks a great place. read more

I go to this location ALL of the time. Sometimes the drive thru line gets out of control long, but they still greet me with a smile at the window. It's a very busy location. I try to avoid it at right before/after school since the high school is right next door. They get pretty bogged down then. Parking can be crowded but you can park across the street and it's still super close. read more

I have had multiple times where I feel like the staff at this location are too cool to be nice to customers. Any time I've had an issue, which has only been a few, they act like I've gone out of My way to ruin their day. read more

In a time where nearly every town in America has at least one Starbucks, this one stood out. The seating area was large, clean, & open with the pleasing sounds and scents you've come to expect. Amenable for anyone writing a book, working, or chatting with a friend. The baristas were quick, courteous, and organized. Our online order was there waiting for us after we ordered 5 minutes earlier while en route. Our drinks were tasty as usual, this time a Carmel Macchiato and a Pikes Place. Fast service as usual. The store was clean and well organized. They got our order correct and we didn't have to wait a long time. I have heard it can be pretty crazy during the week when the local school gets out. They have a drive thru option as well if you don't want to go inside. Starbucks has got it going on. Those people know what they are doing. They get us hooked on that evil caffeine and they know we will be back. I am like a zombie heading to this SB's for my daily drug. This SB is very cool. If you have to feed the monkey on your back, this is a good place to get monkey food. For starters, this location is the only drive thru SB in Lawrence. The baristas are super nice and patient. My orders are very complex sometimes. I am like Sally in "When Harry Met Sally." She wanted everything on the side and was picky about her orders. The SB baristas are eager to help and they never roll their eyes at my orders. Believe me when I say there are some other SB locations where the baristas are not as friendly. Some locations have servers who think they are doing you a favor by taking your order. Not the case with this SB. Very friendly staff. You can also order online through their app and they will have it ready for you when you drive up. How cool is that?? Easy breezy. I LOVE that you can earn freebies when you reach 125 points. There is a nice patio area to sit and relax. I always see students sitting there, studying. Your basic Starbucks. Sit in area is good and spacious. They have some high top tables with narrow spacing between them so it's challenging to get in and out when there's a lot of people. Seems to be a busier Starbucks (well they're all busy). Food is eh. Had a breakfast burrito that was too egg-y with little meat (0 stars). However I won't deduct stars for this since clearly the food is not made at this location but is likely mass produced and shipped nationwide. The staff seem polite and cordial. It's been around two months since this Starbucks has opened. As expected, the quality and service has improved tremendously. Nothing ground breaking with this new location. The inside is pretty cool with the dark recycled wood furniture. The bench seating along the wall in the store is unique and comfortable. The lighting is extremely soft and easy on the eye's. The Barista's are all very good at what they do. Extremely nice and helpful with all customer request. management is top notch as expected from the original Lawrence location. The drive thru is probably the star of this particular location. Super fast and efficient. Can be tricky getting back out onto 6th street during peak hours. As expected, the high school near-by adds significant traffic during certain hours. Not really a big deal. The hours of this location are GREAT!!! Open at 5am and I think they close at 11pm on weekends. Overall, one of the better Starbucks I've ever visited in the Midwest. read more

During the quarantine, ordering frozen drinks online is risky. The line at the drive thru (the only option for pick up at the only Starbucks open in the whole town at that time) was longer than I've ever seen it, spilling onto the adjacent street. The frozen drinks were more like cold chocolate milk. I wonder why there couldn't be curbside pick up just for people who order online? Or if a worker could bring out orders to the online customers in the drive thru line. Some could get out of the line before they get stuck in it, speeding up the whole process for everyone else and making Starbucks more money faster. read more

A Starbucks is a Starbucks (and I do love Starbucks) but this one is my favorite in Lawrence or Topeka because the people who work there are wonderful - specifically the women who work the drive-thru women on week-day mornings. This is my favorite Lawrence Starbucks!! Mainly because it is located on the west side of town offering a drive thru, comfortable inside seating, decent wi-fi, and overall great working atmosphere with good lighting!! The staff is friendly, personable, and speedy (especially working as a team). The coffee area is always clean and supplied. Staff here are on top of it, always cleaning the floors on snowy or rainy days, and they are prompt with your drink orders. I will say they are more talkative, especially when offering the Starbucks rewards program. It is a great incentive, I love that they are reaching out to customers to inform them on how to get more free drinks and perks. I often hear people complain about the prices. While you are paying more than DD coffee (although their drinks are nothing but pure sugar), I want to remind customers that you are receiving a great service. I've tried new drinks just to be adventurous, and ending up changing my mind. While many places wouldn't offer to get me a new drink, Starbucks will without thinking it twice. You pay for the service, and Starbucks service is incomparable. read more

This place is the newest starbucks on the block, with a quieter location, lots of staff, and a drive through option. Love that this place is more full of hard working grad students, staff, and community members rather than the typical families and college kids at the downtown location. Staff here are on top of it, always cleaning the floors on snowy or rainy days, and they are prompt with your drink orders. Only downside is that since it is newer, they seem to sometimes have a lag in getting in the newest drinks or food items. They're slowly getting all the food items in store. The absolute worst Starbucks I've been to. The line is always a mile long, inside and drive through, and moves so slowly. If I want a coffee before work I have to plan for at least an extra 20min. Once you finally get your order, the likelihood of it being correct is about 25%. Most times, it takes two or three times before I get the correct drink. It's not even a complicated order, decaf Americano with honey and cream. I really love Starbucks but I just make my coffee at home now because this store is so awful. read more

This Starbucks has the kindest employees. As I sit in the cafe, they are incredibly busy but each barista had a smile on their face. They do an amazing job of communicating with one another with people waiting in the drive thru line and so many people in line inside. I'm so impressed with their professionalism and the good drinks!! It hardly ever comes out wrong and if it does they fix it with a smile. There has not been a single time I've gone through the drive thru that it has not taken at least fifteen to twenty minutes. When speaking with the baristas, often times I feel as if I owe them some sort of apology, because they make me feel like my order is a huge inconvenience to them. I've watched a car in front of me remain stationary for a full ten minutes waiting for one drink and through the window the baristas appear to move at a disinterested pace at best. New location on 6th. Drive-thru is a great option, though it would probably be more convenient if it weren't so far West. The large interior seating area is well-equipped for productivity, with a whole row of booths with power outlets along the bottom edge of the seats. For those who want to chat over a cup of coffee there are tables in the front and an outdoor patio. Too bad the location is on the outskirts of town, otherwise I'd be back to this location more often! read more

Stopped on my way out of town, at 945 pm had to drive 3 hours and needed something to keep me awake. Coffee wasn't made to my order, and it was old.
