The space gives a bit of a rural and rustic vibe, with the large sleek industrial roaster in the center of the seating area. We were treated to a start to finish roasting demonstration and samples of the dark and light roast drip coffees, along with tasty biscotti. I brought some scones home for a treat for my wife - she loved them. Anytime in the future that I find myself in west Lawrence, I would stop in to further support and expand my limited experience from the first visit.

I took a meeting here and the person I was meeting with gave me a few local options. This was the place I hadn't been yet so I thought I'd go a bit out of my comfort zone and try a new spot. Something I was nervous about from the photos on Yelp was if there would be enough inside seating when I arrived for a meeting. When I pulled up, I was still a bit anxious about this as the front lot was full and I had to pull to the back to park. Once I got out of my car and walked through the cafe to the front to order my anxieties about seating had diminished. It's much larger inside than the outside appears and the photos here on Yelp don't really do the indoors justice. Yes, the outdoor seating is really cute and well shaded so I get why folks focus on it, but if you're like me and wanting to get some work done you'll find a comfortable spot here. Now onto the coffee. As I made my way into the shop I noticed one of my art school professors (we both sort of looked at each other like "do I know you?") and I moved on, but that's a good sign. The art teachers usually know where to snag a decent cup of coffee. When I ordered I tried one of their special drinks and chatted with the baristas about it before I made my choice. Extra points here because not only was the drink really, really good, but the girls working were beyond friendly and answered all of my questions. Both locations in Lawrence are lenient when it comes to replacing items if the order was incorrect. The owners and most of the team are always nice. HOWEVER, there is a female that is in her 20's with dyed hair and thick black eyeliner. She doesn't seem like she wants to be there. She always has an attitude whether it's taking orders or taking payments. I've complained about her back in 2019. She still works there. I went today, usually they repeat the order but she didn't. I asked her to repeat my order at the window--- she rolled her eyes, made a rude face and repeated my order with an attitude. She's always been like this. I'm not a difficult customer, so she doesn't have any right to be rude to me in anyway. But I suggest that the managers talk to her because I'm sure she's rude to many other customers too. She needs to work on her customer service skills. I was so mad that I didn't even care to scan my Dunkin' reward QR code. I just wanted my items and not to be facing her any longer. I've been in the fast food business for over a year and I'm never rude to customers. I always clarify their order and make sure they're receiving their items as best as possible. I'm patient, nice and welcoming. The reason I'm leaving this review is because I'm tired of her being rude to me every time I go.
