This was my go-to spot when I wanted coffee. It is never extremely sweet or bitter. It tasted amazing. My favorite was the Caramel one for a while. But I love trying the new flavors that come out. I did stop going for a while because I went 1 time and got everyone drinks. Me, my son, my daughter and friend. Everyone but my son finished his, and he stuck his in the fridge. I asked him the next day if he was going to finish it, and he said no, so I was dumping the rest in the sink, and I found some clump of crap in the bottom. I don't even know what it was. It almost looked like a clump of plastic, but it was slimy. I will never order another protein one from scooters again because of that. read more

Tried Scooters for the first time today. My drink of choice was the Blue raspberry Red Bull infusion. It was really tasteful a tad sweet but it got the job done waking me up, considering I wake up early for work in the morning. It only comes in a medium fyi, or least that was what they told me at this location. I also tried the turkey sausage burrito which was meh, the eggs where not all the way cooked very runny. Definitely recommend giving scooters a try. read more

This place doesn't sell coffee. It sells syrup! ordered a reg coffee and got some bizarre sweetened mess. Never again!

I kept seeing these places pop up all over town so I thought I better try them. I have really enjoyed every coffee I've had. Coffee was smooth and the fun fall drinks were surprisingly not sticky sweet. The food options are really nice and I enjoyed the spicy sausage burrito. I love Scooter's!! Have been going enough in the past 6 months to stack up not one but two free drinks! Peanut butter crunch drink is my absolute favorite and get it nearly every time, never gets old. I will say the food was not as good, I tried the waffle breakfast sandwich and it was kind of smashed and a little soggy. But I love this place regardless. Staff is super friendly as well. I have been going to the scooters on 9th everyday for a year. Each visit of mine is always pleasant. Today again the manager was working the window and was so nice! So friendly! The way she spoke w her staff was on point. I was there the morning of KU HOMECOMING... the line was around the block... it was cold and this young woman was incredibly composed and in control. She never waivered even when I got upset because I had walking over after waking up to a flat tire... she immediately gave me reassurance my day episode be better and what could she start for me...I hope the owners know what an asset this young professional dedicated manager is each and everyday! Service is pretty good. Good tasting waffle breakfast sandwiches, matcha lattes, cake pops, and smoothies. You can mix matcha with fruit flavor in your smoothies! However, if you add protein to the smoothies, it gives it an unpleasant smell, I've always found. Whatever protein powder they use, it just doesn't smell very appetizing. went to get coffee late at night to help with my studying and I ordered two sea salt, caramellicious, and my total came out to $14. One was small one was medium. Also it's supposed to come with whip cream and caramel sauce but they did not give us any of that so I'm very upset. workers were very nice but just upset about the prices and missing ingredients. read more

Quite possibly one of the worst cups of coffee I've ever had. I'll put it to you this way: I never EVER do not finish my 20-ounce iced americanos and I think I quite possibly managed only about half of the one I ordered at Scooter's on a 90-something degree day when I felt like I was going to crash at 3pm. I don't know what a place can do to make such a typical drink taste so freaking bad? I mean, save for running water through old grinds (that's sure what it tasted like). They get 2-stars instead of one for their "green roof" and nice barista. It might have just been an off day, but the K had warned me about how bad their coffee is. My go-to stop for coffee when I'm on long weekend walks with my dog, usually with another coffee swilling friend in tow who also enjoys being on foot for a couple of hours. Like, this morning. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. 23 degrees, overcast, slight wine (oops, make that wind. Surely a carry-over error from the previous evening? An error worth leaving! :), high humidity. Bone chillingly cold. Fingers and toes still smarting from two long hours out. Man, that cup of hot joe, black, went down fine. Life saver. Surely I'd reviewed them in the past, hadn't I? Nada. I've had their lattes but for those I'm normally in the car headed somewhere when I stop in. Decent enough. Good, not great. It's certainly easy to find a crappy espresso drinks in this city--it's actually the norm. They do well enough here if you have to have it out of a paper cup which is the only option since it's a drive-through destination. I think getting the house coffees are the way to go here and that's usually my choice. Nice and hot, strong, good flavor. Now, I'm not much of a fan of the Scooter's brand myself but this place has always delivered well enough. Finding it odd there are only three other reviews but it has what I call the Yelp curse. A few bad early reviews and other Yelpers avoid you for eternity. Don't think it has to be this way. I've stopped intermittently here for years. Just know, you're getting drive-through coffee prepared by minimum wage kids from a chain. It's not high coffee art, and you shouldn't expect it. It's decent coffee and the folks working here have always been courteous and polite. Worth my return business. read more

I drove through scooters for the first time this morning and I was blown away! I was worried I'd be late to work due to the line of cars but a barista came to my car with a tablet and took my order promptly! I told her I was unfamiliar with the menu and she gave me the option to wait and order at the window. I told her what kind of coffee I liked, and she suggested the iced turtle latte because it's the most popular. I got that and a muffin and really enjoyed both! I got through the line super fast and the gal at the window was very pleasant as well! Everyone in the tiny building seemed so happy to be there even though it was very busy and I just love seeing that. I will go out of my way to visit this location in the future. I can't wait to try more of their breakfast items. There's lots of construction around but it's still very accessible and easy to get in and out! read more

The lattes are okay here. Most are powdery and too sweet but that's almost typical nowadays with most specialty drinks...people try to overdo everything. So why 2 stars? I asked for soy in my latte. I was charged for extra soy. When I took my first sip of my latte, rushing to work at 6:30am, I DID NOT TASTE SOY. They gave me straight up whole milk, and even put whip on it. And no, I'm not just a chick who's complaining about being fat - I am hopelessly lactose intolerant!! Soymilk keeps me from being in some serious stomach pain!! If this were a walk-in location I wouldn't be as pissed but come on, this is a drive through, do you really expect all your customers to taste their drink while they're still at the window?? Bleh. I appreciate the convenient drive through location, but their drinks and service have been subpar all the time. I agree with Clarice about the soy mess up. Agh!! Luckily, I tasted my drink to check whether it was soy, and realized it wasn't before I drove off. If you find their drinks to be too sweet to customize the drink a bit more. I had asked for my latte to have less syrup in it (1 pump of vanilla with soy), and I'd say it tastes sooo much better with less syrup. Service is very hit or miss, but I'd say more times than not the people working here are just not all that satisfied with being cooped up in a tiny space and serving drive through coffee. Service is prompt, but the coffee just doesn't seem to be amazing. Yes, it's a convenient location... but I might just only come here in the future with the free drink coupons sent in the mail or email. Otherwise I don't think it's worth it. I am a huge fan of Scooter's because I am from Omaha and it is an Omaha based shop, but the location here in Lawrence just doesn't do things the same. One example of this is EVERY time I order a breakfast sandwich they are too much in a rush and don't cook it all the way through and the middle is cold or they put two in the oven at the same time. I recently moved to Lawrence right off of 9th Street and I had been curious about this place because of the proximity to my home and the convenience of the drive thru. A friend and drove through last Saturday, 1/24, and we both got large iced hazelnut lattes with two additional espresso shots per drink. The drinks were great and we were very satisfied. The second time that this friend and I drove thru was on Tuesday, 1/27, and it was a totally different story. We again both ordered the large iced hazelnut lattes with two additional espresso shots per drink. Unfortunately the drinks were watery and did not have a good flavor this second time. The bottom of the cup was covered in espresso grinds and the flavor was lacking. The bigger issue with this second trip is that we both decided to try a bacon, egg and cheese burrito that morning. To say it was not good is an understatement. The burrito tasted "off" and had a grainy texture. Neither of us enjoyed it at all and my friend threw hers away after just two bites. We jokingly referred to it as "torture in a tortilla". We both had the taste of the burrito in our mouths for hours after eating it. Perhaps it was our mistake to order a breakfast burrito from a drive thru coffee shop but considering that we were quite pleased with our first visit, we expected much more. I doubt that we will visit this store again which is unfortunate considering the locale and the proximity to my home but it is too expensive to take the risk of getting either a good coffee or a mediocre one. The convenience does not out way the inconsistent quality and it's disappointing to be charged over $6 a drink and not be able to rely on the quality of the products. read more

I'm in love and I don't care who knows it! I used to frequent Scooter's when my roommate was a barista in college. Moved away for grad school where there were no Scooter's so when I moved to Lawrence I was so excited to see a branch. The staff is so friendly and always seems genuine when they ask me how my day is going. Once they messed up my drink and the next time I came back through the drive through they apologized and made sure to make my next drink extra special and free. I drove through on a whim and got a Pina Colada smoothie and a regular cup of coffee. The smoothie clearly had nothing fresh in it - no banana or coconut and was so, so sickeningly sweet it was undrinkable. The coffee was truck stop coffee. We stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town for our road trip west. The mocha was great, a little heavy on the chocolate syrup but otherwise nicely mixed and a great flavor. The food menu is limited but what we had from it was quite tasty. We'd stop here again if we were passing through town, and actually we did look for other Scooters along the way in case we needed a quick bite to eat and some coffee. read more
