I was recently in Lawrence to visit my son who attends KU. I've been craving bakery quality dishes…read moreand live in a very small town that just doesn't have any good options. This place BLEW ME AWAY. I tried the lemon custard croissants, cherry danishes, and salted chocolate chip cookies. Everything was so buttery, flaky, salty, sweet!! The perfect mix. Their delicate laminated pastries are as good as anything I've ever tried and even as good as the little shop in Paris that has been the object of my affections since I visited many, many years ago. There's really no seating, it's a tiny space with some chair rails so don't go expecting a sit down experience. But do go expecting to taste the best pastries you've ever had! (Oh small side note, bathroom was pristine and so nice!) Apple Maps doesn't take you to the right location but google maps does.

Loved it didn't contain nuts since I was serving to guests and wasn't aware of any allergies. Was a little disappointed with the hot cross buns. They tasted amazing and were a hit, but the traditional cross on top wasn't present. Also was baked in a round container instead of the advertised and traditional rectangle. Staff was so nice from the ordering, payment and pick up. Pick up was at the sisters store Taylor's donuts which tempted me with the apple fritters and amazing smells.

Full disclosure I came here with a lot of uncertainty. There's a TON of coffee shops in Lawrence…read moreand they all aren't created equal. I took a meeting here and the person I was meeting with gave me a few local options. This was the place I hadn't been yet so I thought I'd go a bit out of my comfort zone and try a new spot. Something I was nervous about from the photos on Yelp was if there would be enough inside seating when I arrived for a meeting. When I pulled up, I was still a bit anxious about this as the front lot was full and I had to pull to the back to park. Once I got out of my car and walked through the cafe to the front to order my anxieties about seating had diminished. It's much larger inside than the outside appears and the photos here on Yelp don't really do the indoors justice. Yes, the outdoor seating is really cute and well shaded so I get why folks focus on it, but if you're like me and wanting to get some work done you'll find a comfortable spot here. Now onto the coffee. As I made my way into the shop I noticed one of my art school professors (we both sort of looked at each other like "do I know you?") and I moved on, but that's a good sign. The art teachers usually know where to snag a decent cup of coffee. When I ordered I tried one of their special drinks and chatted with the baristas about it before I made my choice. Extra points here because not only was the drink really, really good, but the girls working were beyond friendly and answered all of my questions. I'm not lying when I say this was one of the best cups of coffee I've had in Lawrence in some time. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

My husband and ai both got a honey, lavender, and cinnamon latte. We both enjoyed it. I noticed after we ordered that they had some seasonal coffees but wasn't obviously displayed initially. My kid also got a chocolate muffin, she said it was dry so that was a little disappointing. They also have merch and plenty of seating area. They also have plenty of parking. If we are back in the area we would try it again but might not get another pastry.

The staff are friendly, efficient, and well versed in their products. Some of the furniture could use a refresh (some of the upholstered chairs are looking worn) but overall the decor is pleasant and the entire facility is clean, clean, clean! I often order a hot tea with a savory pastry, but if you're looking for something special, the Mont Blanc pastry and the pistachio matcha latte are very popular. On one recent visit, my friend ordered the apricot pastry, and I got an ube donut and a mushroom tart. So good! The cream under the apricot was so light and fluffy. The combination of long open hours, friendly staff, and very fresh pastries makes this shop an essential spot in west Lawrence.

I gave the twist a three average because that's how they tasted. They weren't glazed twist, they were baked and sprinkled with sugar and maybe some cinnamon. They weren't "the donut" I was used to. They weren't too sweet, which was good, but they really didn't taste like a doughnut it was more like sweet bread.

We just finished up at Allen Fieldhouse watching the Aggies lose to KU (poor Eric R.) and his work called with an emergency so he wanted to sit somewhere, get tea, and use his laptop. I suggested we go to Mana's location. There is free wifi and several places to sit. We decided to share a pot of tea. The tea expert let me try the tea of the day, Oriental Garden oolong, which was really good to me. However, Eric R. likes green tea so we had to agree. He suggested jasmine pearls, and I agreed. We sat down, had lots of cups of delicious jasmine green tea, and got work done. There was a tv playing Japanese anime quite loudly in the background, but we tuned it out. I would come back to try other teas.

The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful.
