Popped in on my normally-friendly neighborhood Starbucks. I got an Egg Nog Chai drink there the other day, but it was showing unavailable in the app. So I decided to ask about it in the drive-thru. I was told SB did not have an Egg Nog Chai, but rather an Egg Nog Latte. I was confused (as the app itself officially lists the drink as an Iced Chai Eggnog Latte), but asked if the Pumpkin Chai was still available instead. The response I got, "anything else?" I didn't confirm I wanted it and did not give a size. And the "anything else" was repeated a few more times as the conversation wore on. I get it. 8am is early, but if being pleasant and willing to answer customer questions is not your ministry, there are other roles in Starbucks I'd imagine. Or other jobs. Please re-train whomever was taking orders at 8am on 12/15. I don't like it when someone is short and dismissive when I'm trying to patronize a business, and I certainly don't like being gaslighted. I had an interview with the assistant manager and I was really excited to discuss more about the role and requirements to join the team. However the manger didn't seem to be as interested. During the entire interview the body language said "I don't wanna be here" and " let's get this over with". Constantly looking away for long periods of time during our discussion, even shifting to stand up at one point until he remembered I was there. It seemed unwarranted, maybe he was just having a bad day and took it out on me but regardless for growing with Starbucks for 4 years that behavior is not acceptable. During this interview I showed up with professionalism and an open mind. Imagine my shock when I was asked a question and during my answer the manger went on his phone and completely ignored me. If you weren't looking to add someone to the team then just decline my application. The whole ordeal was humiliating and hurtful. If you are looking for a Starbucks team to join keep looking. This store will not respect you. I will say the barista behind the counter had a very positive energy and they made me feel a bit better about the situation. All in all, a hit or miss and this time they missed. I'm only writing this review because this is the worst job interview I've ever experienced i hopes any other baristas looking avoids this embarrassment. read more

We ordered our normal drinks at Starbucks, and the girl at the drive-through told us she wasn't allowed to put our cortados in a tall cup with extra milk. We order our drinks like this every single time. I have a client who works at Starbucks and told me to order it this way. She was not accommodating at all, and we would have left the drive-through line had there not been two cars behind us. Whoever was working at this Starbucks at 9 AM taking orders. I love Starbucks. Like your average American, I, too, relish the taste of coffee goodness in the mornings - especially those busy weekdays. However, I LOVE this Starbucks. Let's start with the location: the parking? Ample. Easy to find? Absolutely. Clean? You bet. Then there's the staff, whose friendliness rivals Chick-fil-A's (and that's really saying something). They are determined to make sure that you receive only the very best drinks, regardless of the number of substitutions or extras you ask for. Observe my picture, for example. Once every year, I place a frivolous mobile order for my birthday. Despite the number of substitutions, my drink was ready by the time I arrived and tasted absolutely incredible. I know this probably took a bit more time to make, and I really appreciate how well done it still was. This is my favorite Starbucks location and I highly recommend visiting! read more

Came here for the happy hour promotion for the caramel macchiatos, and the guy at the register was very amicable! They were busy, but they still had my drink out pretty quick. I got the iced version. It did spill out of the lid, because it was so full. The lady asked if I wanted it remade, but I just asked for another lid! It was a little too milky, but still delicious. This Starbucks location was busy. It was cold out so drive thru was beautiful. The only problem was the slowness of ordering. It took way too long, but no way to back out of line. My order was also incorrect, I ordered an Iced Mocha skinny and received a h ou t mocha, I didnt complain. But I certainly did question being charged for both my drinks as it WAS Happy Hour 2pm to 7pm, and it was 3:30. The clerk didnt even notice, not good. As many of the other reviews of this location have stated, this Starbuck's downfall is it's popularity. The drive-through line is sneaked around the building at almost any time of day. Well they get through customers and a decent amount of time you can still anticipate a pretty good wait. If you opt to run inside thinking it may be quicker, he'll likely be disappointed. With the amount of pick up orders they are almost always slammed. The parking situation is also not ideal as you might get stuck in your spot due to the confusing drive through line. On the plus side the staff is always friendly and The inside is newly redone. Can't fault them for being so popular, but I will, a little. read more

One of the worst Starbucks in KC. No one knows what their doing. Major delays on getting drinks out for people. I got my simple americano after waiting 20 minutes. I was watching people that ordered behind me pick up their drinks. Finally, when I asked about it, 5 minutes it was in my hand. But I got it, it was freezing cold. Attitude by baristas. I have mixed emotions about this Starbucks!! I love it and at times I'm not a fan. Overtime the number of students grew and people in friends groups came to study, bringing way more noise and less ability to focus on studying. I don't come here as often because of this, but if I'm looking for a reliable place to study when nothing else is open that has with free coffee refills, long hours, and free WiFi this is my go to place. The workers are extraordinary. They are extremely welcoming and friendly. They know the regular students that come by and they make the atmosphere very welcoming. Ice doubleshot is the go to drink when you wanna get so caffeinated your mouth feels like it's vibrating. read more

Do you like to start your day with a headache from navigating a massive, snaking drive-thru line? Then this is the place for you. This Starbucks, really to no fault of their own other than being too popular, is almost always a hot mess. The drive thru line snakes in so many directions it causes me a mild panic every time I come here. At most drive-thru's, I'll often opt to park and go in as it's much easier. Here that's nearly impossible during any kind of peak hour because you can't even get into the parking lot. Busier I get the more I see the appeal of Starbucks and their drive-thru's, but I'll go well out of my way to go somewhere else after trying this one so many times. read more

This location is right down the street from my work, so obviously even though it is not my favorite, I tend to stop by alot and grab a drink in the mornings. If you like chaos, you'll love this location. Unfortunately for them, they are VERY popular in the area and are constantly busy. The drive-thru wasn't created to be busy, as it is far too short for the amount of cars constantly wrapped around the building in it. Then you have limited parking spaces, and you have people that think it is okay to park their cars next to the curb to run in and grab their mobile orders. Majority of the seating inside is typically taken up by people working on their laptops, especially during the lunch hour. They tend to run out of items alot faster than other locations, being that they are so busy. For example last week they ran out of blonde espresso. The plus side is that the employees are all super sweet, and always welcome you inside when you come in the doors. read more

Many times I have walked into this Starbucks and wondered if I would get the normal 'grind' of yuppy, impatient people paying for over-priced coffee. Instead, I am always politely surprised to see students of all walk cramming, artistic people debating and the usual empty seat of my choice. I always seem to get a random barista but not one of them has managed to mess up my simple order of a mochoa (and believe you me, it CAN be screwed up). The feel is less corporate than most and you'll usually find cool random flyers and art posted about. Usually clean with the occasional stale crumbs here and there but always open and fast wi-fi. :) read more

The drinks here are par for the course. Better than other Starbucks places, there are ample places to sit, drink, take meetings, and plug in to get work done. BUT the thing that is so exciting for me (as a visitor to Kansas City) is that there are two tables here set up with eight Google Chromebooks that customers can use for free to access... GOOGLE FIBER!!!! My first experience using Google Fiber was here in this starbucks as a person just driving through on a cross-country drive. I'm so excited. The experience wasn't life changing, but it was exciting all the same, to be able to say I know what Google Fiber is like. I am from San Jose and it's a shame that the Silicon Valley still doesn't have it. But I digress. This is a great Starbucks. With a drive-thru and private parking lot. read more

Gotta give it to this Starbucks for actually staying open decently late (midnight) in one of the only areas in KC where you'll actually find people up past the shining hour of 10:00 P.M. Also, it is decently close to two urban college campuses and has a pretty calming not cramped lay-out inside to study, work, and type. The drive thru is what I usually frequent though. And it can get a bit cluttered with cars wrapping around the front pedestrian entrance to avoid protruding into the busy(ish) Main Street. However, if the line is bothersome to you and you can snag a parking place, getting off your butt may actually make your wait time a little faster and the baristas inside are entertaining! Just yesterday my Tango Passion Tea was prepared like a fancy cocktail, shaken and stirred to perfection, livened up with a little "behind the back" toss of the shaker...I think my barista was practicing for bartending school haha! It gave my morning the little zing I was needing and I was out the door and on my way in less than 6 minutes. read more

Very very busy Starbucks but for once thy have hired enough people. There are prob 8 baristas at a time working at this place and they do a nice job. It was cool to be able to try Google Fiber and they also have laptops there that you can borrow to surf the web while you're drinking coffee. These folks need some customer service lessons from the awesome staff at the 95th & Mission Starbucks. They're not exactly rude at this location, but they're never smiling or seem happy to see people. Happened to be in this part of town and needed some hot tea for a sore throat STAT. Honestly, it was too hot to drink. Next time i'll ask for a side of ice or something so I don't burn my tongue. Would've been nice if the Barista had offered. They also didn't ask if I wanted cream or milk in my tea- odd. The menu seems to be the same one at all Starbucks, but the workers here just aren't very enthusiastic.
