January 9, 2026 - WASTE OF MONEY Today I decided to treat myself with a Starbucks coffee. Not knowing much about what they offer, I assumed they were experts based off of how much they charge for coffees. I ordered the caramel ribbon crunch but requested to have it made as an iced coffee form. They proceeded to ask me which creamer would I like and I said the best one you would think would work or if you have french vanilla that would be better not sure how it taste. The cashier said I got you please pull forward I get to the front pay I get a large plain iced coffee add: dark caramel, caramel crunch, Whip and caramel drizzle. It was black, I taste it because I was worried and was right! Didn't take great for $6.57, I informed them that there was no creamer and tried to give cup back to have them add the creamer. They ended giving me a seperate cup for creamer to add. Looking at my coffee it was filled to the brim. They expected me to fill it up and hope it tastes good. I felt as if im paying top dollar for a coffee, I shouldn't be doing their job. After I realized it would be a pain to drink the horrible coffee just to add the creamer and hope it tastes good i requested a refund. This was my first & last time coming to starbucks! Honestly download the McDonald's app and get a ice coffee that you dont have to second guess and I only paid $0.99!!! Haha such a rip off. Or go to DUTCH BROS. Sandwich only had one and a half piece of turkey on it wasn't over the whole bread. Like the taste just pricey for it. Chips where 315 for the small bag. Drink cost more on delivery plus. Charge from grubhub. Looked forward to trying the lavender flavor but wasn't added. Last time I ordered the frappacino it was just cold not frap but it was from Starbucks at Community hospital. Because today is a holiday we were relegated to Starbucks, and came to this one twice. Mind you, they all are virtually the same, and that of course is the objective: sameness. This morning I ordered by mobile app. The Americano with two extra shots, room, and a splash of half and half arrived tepid and so filled to the brim that when I removed the lid it splashed down the sides. I asked for a replacement and the barista was very solicitors, apologetic. She asked if I might like the half and half on the side. When I went to collect the coffee there was a second, smaller cup holding the half and half, probably measuring a full cup. Most of it, of course, went in the trash, but at Starbucks it is fully expected that customers will slosh liquids into the trash. So not only does Starbucks generate an inordinate amount of landfill with each order, it also generates lots of liquid waste, filling every cup to the very brim. Why? When we returned I ordered at the counter and two items were simply forgotten, so I went back up to request them, particularly as I had already paid. The brownie I received was bland, spongy. It had none of the dense chocolate quality that a brownie should have and, of course, no walnuts, as one must be vigilant lest customers file lawsuits. Of course we Americans are always sniffing around for a good shakedown; it keeps a whiff of hope in the air, like the lottery does. The barista wondered if I wanted it warmed up -- why would someone want a brownie warmed up? Further, as is always the case, there is loud music. It varies, mercifully, but is nonetheless incessant. You cannot get away from it; the placement of the speakers guarantees that. Even going out into the patio brings no relief as there too are speakers to "deliver" gratuitous noise. Another reason we were reluctant to go out there was the presence of an eccentric somewhat agitated seeming man who was skulking around. Finally, the lighting is harsh and, like the music raining down, impossible to escape. For diversion there are a few flies in search of sustenance, including in the glass pastry case. Is this simply the logical end result of our business environment here in the United States? Grim, really. read more

The people here are lovely. But for some reason every time I order matcha here it tastes bad. It's only this location. I've ordered some in Denver from multiple Starbucks and the matcha is perfectly fine. I have also ordered matcha from the other Starbucks in town and the matcha is good. What do I even say? I've been part of the GJ Starbucks Community since 2014. I'm having a hard night and got to this location close to closing, 8:56 with two cars at the window. I was told by this angry man that they were closed, to pull forward, so I said okay. So I sat in line, without an order, for 5 minutes. When I got to the window he was still angry with me when I asked why I couldn't order but still had to wait. He yelled at me, said he was going to call the cops on me if I didn't leave. I'm devastated, pained, and saddened to my core, and scared to go back to this location. Starbucks is suppose to be a 3rd home, a safe space, and I looked for that tonight and receive violent remarks and threats, because I was wondering why I was being treated with such disgust. There is a lady who works there. Her name is Joan She is older, and I mean absolutely incredible person. She goes out of her way for every customer and treats. Everybody the same.!!!!! I struggled to write this review for a few weeks now but I wanted to reach out and say this Starbucks really met my needs on my visit. I'll start out by saying I was adopted by my dad, Don, and never knew anything about my biological dad. He died in 1994, when I was 12, and I never knew him. In this epoch of social media, my friends list grew to include my paternal grandma Judith on Facebook and we've stayed connected the last decade. I was born in Grand Junction and my parents just retired, and moved back. My parents bought their house in GJ in June and have been unpacking and reacquainting with the city in which they fell in love ("Our first date was at that China Buffet," my mom pointed out on the ride home from the airport). When my mom knew I had a flight booked, she asked if I wanted to see Judith. My feelings were complicated, and I agreed. My mom works in the school district so my dad offered to go with me (no car) if Judith wanted to pick us up or meet us somewhere walkable. My dad suggested Starbucks after lunch, and this location was our meet point. A woman who I'd never met but shared DNA with, and the man who raised me from the age of 3 but didn't share DNA with. Starbucks created a very easy location, tailored to this task. Generic enough to know your way around, a menu small enough to offer something to everyone (decaf, fruity teas, focusing caffeine, a treat to share), a layout conducive to conversations, a timeless quality that latecomers can still pull a chair,accessible restrooms, free refills for gold members. And a gentle soundtrack in the background, with non-competing art and subtle merchandising, to keep your eyes visually occupied when there's a hard conversation happening. We spent about 3 hours in this Starbucks forging a family bond with someone who didn't know me, didn't believe I was family, questioned motives decades ago, and who I only knew through Facebook. I learned important things about my biological dad. After school got out, my mom drove over and met us. My mom emphasized she never kept me from him, but wanted me to have insurance on Don's military plan, which is the reason she pushed for the adoption. My grandma conceded both, "There were a lot of things I didn't know about [him]," and "I can see a resemblance, I knew you were family the first time I saw a picture of you." She cried at the table over his death. So thank you to Starbucks in Grand Junction, thank you Starbucks at 13th and North. It was exactly what we needed for our family. This location is super convenient and Lisa in the drive-through window is always super nice and efficient. Over the last month I've gotten several drinks where the ice is so packed in my drink that I can't get my straw in the drink. I'm in the drive-through because I am on my way to work so by the time I put my straw in and take a sip it's usually I'm out of the line and at 7:30 in the morning I'm not gonna get back in the long line during peak times. Today when I asked about it in the drive-through about just having a regular amount of ice because of what I have been getting, instead of apologizing, the DTO put that I wanted light ice. I don't understand how adding the correct amount of ice is a continuous issue here. This is what I consider to be the "perfect Starbucks". The store is very clean and well-kept, the employees are extremely kind and fun to talk to, and I've never had an order come out incorrectly. This is a Starbucks with an all-star team; it seems to me that everyone on the line has been doing their job for a long time because they're so good at it! In addition to all of that, this place has probably the fastest drive-thru I've ever seen for a Starbucks. I'm disappointed in this location. I frequent the 25 Road Starbucks where the staff is kind and attentive. I stop sometimes at this new North Ave store as I drive by in the afternoon. I have never had courteous staff when I have been there, I believe they don't have time to be nice. I think the store is too busy and the staff is complacent. I have used the drive through each time I have stopped and I have never once been in line for less than 20 minutes. It's frustrating for me because I know what a good experience is like. I hope it's just growing pains and they pull it together soon. read more
