Whoa, where is this place? That's what I was thinking as I was driving down a residential road and…read moremy GPS told me I was at Steelyard Coffee Co., but all I saw were houses. It turns out that, indeed, this coffee shop is nestled in a neighborhood. But if you look closely for a rusted-looking building that looks completely abandoned, then you will find Steelyard Coffee. It's hidden in plain sight. Once I got inside, I was delighted to see a warm and welcoming space, with a full coffee menu and other beverages, like tea and smoothies. I just wanted a little cup of green tea, so that's what I got, in a to-go cup. It was ready lickety-split. Steelyard has a few things to eat, like some cookies and muffins, as well as pans of baked oatmeal, parfaits, breakfast burritos, quiche and other breakfasty things. There are plenty of places to sit, and the decor is very farmhouse and rustic. It seems like a nice place to sit and work remotely or visit with a friend, but also a place where you can hit it and quit it like I did.

I have officially had enough of Cabin Coffee. I have gone there multiple times, and the employees…read morehave consistently been unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. Today was the final straw. I brought a protein shake with me because I wanted to add it to the coffee I was purchasing. I was told I was not allowed to have outside food or drinks. I understand that a business can have policies, but the way this was handled was yet another example of the unnecessarily rude attitude I have experienced there. I wasn't trying to sit there and consume something I bought somewhere else instead of purchasing anything. I was literally there to buy their coffee and customize it with something I already had. At some point, a business needs to realize that customer service matters. Policies can be enforced without treating customers like they're a nuisance for walking through the door. I've given this place multiple chances, and the consistently unpleasant interactions have completely outweighed whatever I like about their coffee. There are plenty of other coffee shops where I can spend my money and actually feel welcome. I won't be back.

It's always nice to see new restaurants in the area. This restaurant was formerly Columbo's Italian…read morerestaurant, which had a long history and great food. The reason for this note is because of their great reputation, people would make the trip to this location, on a busy S Main Street that is often under construction and isn't a great location. Went with coworkers for lunch and unfortunately the restaurant was empty at 12:30 pm. We each ordered the arepas at the counter and an empanada. They had chicken, chorizo, beef and pork arepas, all of our food was delicious. Their pastries and baked goods looked delicious but we didn't order any. One review mentioned the smell, there was an odor when you walked in.
