As a home roaster who pulls my own espresso shots, I love coffee and many shops are disappointing. This joint was highly rated, so we figured why not give it a chance. They have many creative lattes and drinks, but as a purist I ordered a double espresso to see what the actual coffee tastes like. Oh my word! Pronounced notes of stone fruit, blueberry, roasted nut. This is one of the best espressos I have ever enjoyed - not just in Indiana, but anywhere. This means several things - whoever is responsible for the roast really cares. It also means extraction of the shot is optimized - none of the tell tale signs of over extraction or under extraction in the cup. This was seriously delicious. The rest of our party isn't that much into espresso, and they greatly enjoyed their cappuccinos and lattes. But I was ecstatically over the moon, and gave the barista multiple "high fives" for this incredible espresso. She was delighted, as she noted the owner is the one responsible for the roast and will be very pleased that someone noticed the quality. Now, you should also know this shop appears to be in a modern industrial complex (different place for a coffee shop than one might expect), and decor is very modern. It also appears to host a sub-community of knitting circles, which is cool as well.
