Now it's like a college cafeteria...basic and tired, with hardly any plant-based options. The salad bar has nothing but the basics. The cut fruit is shameful--all underripe (easier to sell, for some reason. Produce section as a whole is extremely underwhelming...Martin's has more options. The current lack of a seating area indoors is a big minus. This used to be a favorite meeting spot for me and school colleagues. Now you just take it home or scarf it down in the parking lot. Sad! It's hard to think of a reason to come here anymore, aside from maybe a few specialty organic items...and even here, Target carries more.

Nice medium-sized health food grocery store with a sandwich and juice bar with three tables. The wrap and sandwich were good and the portion sizes were just right. The smoothie was a classic - banana, strawberry, apple juice and ice. The store and restroom were nice and very clean. We did wish there had been a changing table in the restroom. There were many items on sale in the store and a nice selection of products. So often on the drive between Toledo and Chicago, we've had to settle for unhealthy snacks from convenience stores because it's still hard to find good vegan options along the way. ***UPDATE*** I've been back to the shop a few times and it…read moreseems the issue with kids being in the shop has been addressed. That said, I've gotten a few new nice pieces from Glass Roots and the quality of gear they sell is still top notch and competitively priced. The UV products they sell are particularly cool and takes me back to my younger days. I'm downgrading my rating for Glass Roots because every time I go the shop is filled with kids under 18. The first time it happened one of the employees had his infant behind the counter just hanging out, I bet CPS would have loved hearing about that. After that incident I contacted the manager/owner and he assured me it was an isolated incident and it wouldn't happened again. So I go back to the shop the day after Christmas to use a gift certificate and what's the first thing I see upon entering the shop? About a half dozen obviously underage kids starring at all the pipes! Seriously WTF?!?! I understand that kids are curious and with all the legalization it's not a huge deal but rules are rules are rules and crap like that doesn't help! It's unfortunate the owner doesn't feel the need to follow laws, it'd be a real shame if someone notifies the proper authorities...

Everyone there was super knowledgeable and one of the employees even took the time to walk the store with me to find a custom solution for what I was looking for and even had first hand experience with a lot of there supplements. For anyone with a sensitive stomach to protein or pre workout there is a lot of options to choose from and people there with experience that can tell you first hand how they did with the supplement. Being one of there first customers they offered some free samples of different proteins and pre workouts which was super appreciative and gave me the chance to try out some different options. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone just getting into fitness to the most beefed up athlete as they have every option you can think of and answer most of your in depth questions.

I went to the Garden Patch much more often, mainly because it was closer to my house and because I always got really confused driving to (and on) Grape Road in Mishawaka, but Harmony Market is also good. It's in kind of a sad strip mall, but it's very clean inside the store (unlike the Garden Patch), although the cleanliness can be a little bit clinical. I tend to like haphazard natural places; they just don't seem natural when they're extremely well organized. But then I'm weird, and you shouldn't be listening to me anyway. See, I'd rather buy my organic produce from a hippie than from a Swiss guy with a mustache. But that's just me. Harmony Market has a great selection of faux meats and other processed foods that aren't really good for you but don't always involve the slaughter of small animals for consumption.

I've tried to shop here several times on Saturday, only to find that they are closed for business…read moreon Saturdays and that they close early on Friday evenings. Someone told me it was due to the owner's religious beliefs. I won't hold it against him or her for having religion, but it doesn't make sense to be closed on the potentially busiest times of the week. Plus, the prices are a bit steep. I know that they don't have the same buying power as Mall*Wart and the other box stores, but their prices are way up in the stratosphere. That said, I'll still shop there for the occasional staple that no one else stocks, that is if they are open.
