Getting in and out of this Starbucks is a nightmare in itself. I was going to go to the drive-thru but I ended up just going inside the store. The line for the drive-thru was ridiculous! Several of us were lined up well before the 5 AM opening, excited for the new glass barista cup drop. We were chatting, caffeinated on anticipation, and ready to shop respectfully and fairly. Right before doors opened, an employee came to the door, stepped in front of the entire line, and was allowed to be the first to purchase the very item we'd all been waiting for but they said they didn't receive it. Needless to say, that did not go over well. On release day, fairness and transparency matter -- and this was the opposite. To make things worse, the baristas' attitude felt downright dismissive. No smiles, no "thank you for waiting," no acknowledgment of the situation -- just cold energy all around. Every time I visit this Starbucks location, my drinks are made correctly and served with a smile. I love the fact that there is a drive-thru. However, if you want to sit inside and enjoy your purchase, you can do that as well. I have never experienced an instance where there was insufficient seating or the cafe area wasn't clean. The only issue may be finding an available seat if you want to work solo. My only gripe...but it impacts my visit every single time...the drive-thru is always backed up and it can be difficult getting in the line without impeding traffic. There has to be a way to control this. I fear angry tempers may flare one day due to a mix-up in who arrived to the line first. Happy sipping. read more

Peace and blessings, I'm writing this email after a store manager inquired about whether I was going to purchase a drink while doing my work. Once he understood I was fasting for Ramadan, he let it go. The store manager's inquiry wasn't the issue. It's the timing. During our previous exchange, back in December, I interrupted the store manager's conversation with a colleague who kept referring to African Americans as Akatas. If you don't know, Akata means lost cat, and it's a term used derogatorially against those whose ancestors were taken from Afrika and endured the slave trade. The young man that the manager was with kept saying it, thinking no one understood the meaning. It's a hurtful term, meant to demean African Americans and other them at a time when so many are embracing Pan-Afrikanism. During that incident, the manager, instead of stopping his friend from using such language, brought up the policy about purchasing drinks. Perhaps as a means of stopping my inquiry into why his friend, who had no drinks, was speaking so harshly. This was despite my being there for more than two hours, having already purchased drinks and pastries. The manager in question has seen me in this store, located on Taj Lane, for at least two years. He secured my charger for me when I left it. We established a slight bond over my Liberian heritage and penchant for wearing West African garb. He knows I purchase food and drinks when I come into Starbucks. That being said, I'm wondering to myself why wait until today to inquire about my patronage of the store. Horrible experience. I recognize that Starbucks is busy in the morning but a 45 minute wait for two drinks is insane. I arrived at 11:00am and ordered at 11:15am ....as I stand here at 11:58....I am still waiting on my drink. After asking twice they began making my drinks. The first time I asked, the guy in the front making drinks laughed and asked my name. When I told him he said "Oh, your ticket just printed...". My ticket just printed 30 minutes later?! The guy after we asked again asked the cashier to help him. As she makes our drinks, we over heard the guy making the drinks tell the cashier that the ticket fell between the cracks of the machines ... seemingly that is how we ended up waiting so long. To be busy is one thing but to be on your headset laughing with coworkers , dropping tickets , etc is deplorable . Mistakes happen yes but be HONEST. Why not be honest and say you dropped my ticket instead of acting like it just printed. My receipt said 11:15 and it just printed? I am disgusted and an hour of my day is wasted. This is my most frequented Starbucks and mostly the experiences have been pleasant. I do think they need to figure out a way to better handle crowds on weekends since those are naturally the most busy days. My most recent visit was on a Sunday morning and there was a long drive thru line (as expected). After waiting in line for a while, I get to the speaker to order and I'm told to hold on. I ended up waiting for an additional five minutes. They were out of most of their food items so I ended up with just a drink. It was dissatisfying to wait so long and not be able to order most of what I came for. The person working the front was pleasant so that was a plus. A mess! I wanted to order the iced black tea with Mango syrup and just the mango syrup! Not the mango and dragon fruit combination. When I had expressed that to the barista they got upset and was telling me "What are you talking about? We don't have that!!". When I have been able to get that option at a few other Starbucks without the dragon fruit! Then one of the other baristas over the intercom yelled "Oh he mad!!" Talk about unprofessional! The drive thru line was not backed up so tell me why it took 19 minutes for us to get our two drinks? Everyone working the morning shift on May 6,2026 had a terrible attitude. I placed an order on Sunday 03 May around 12:50 my app said my order would be ready between 3-8 minutes no problem. I walked in it was a nice crowd waiting so I packed my patience because I could already tell by the energy this was not going to go well. At 1:05 I received my packaged food item and waited for my drink that was never made and so I asked for my money back for the drink because when I asked them how much longer for my drink they said they didn't know they had 9 drinks in front of me. This location is aways busy because it's the only one in this area you have to go to the one at Ritchie Station for the other nearest location depending where you are. Their drive thru is also struggling with the wait time which is ridiculous! I saw an employee come out one time to place an orange cone behind my car because they were backed up. This location has a drive through available. I usually use it and it moves quickly and tge staff are friendly. Today I went inside. The atmosphere and vibe was great. The staff and manager that assisted me was very friendly. They had many people which made food preparation and the service quick. As I waited. For my order, I even noticed that they had various sized tables to accommodate different groups of people. There were people both teleworking, studying, sitting having casual talk and even I noticed a chess club meetup. They also had an outside seating area and patio which was really a cool space. The only gripe and reduction is that the store could have use some cleaning. There was visible trash on the floor and tables/chairs were everywhere in the outdoor seating area. I suggest the staff do a spot check every hour or so just to keep the store clean and in order. Store location is in a shopping center and a standalone Starbucks. It is surrounded by trees changing from the season and a bit secluded iwhich makes for a great retreat if going for a reprieve. I ordered a Double Smoked Bacon and Cheddar Sandwich (to-go) and Iced Americano (my favorite). I also ordered a medicine ball tea. During this season, it is a must. The citrus and mint flavors is a great, relaxing, green tea concoction that kicks the beginning of any cold. Highly recommend! This is my first visit here and I can say the experience was really good. Definitely would come back when in this area. read more

This locations drive thru can be very slow, the parking lot for the starbucks is EXTREMLY small and you can get stuck so I suggest parking in the larger parking lot and walking over. I would also go inside because the drive thru can be a fight and get backed up and slow. read more

I come to this location because it's the closest to me but there is ALWAYS an issue with my order here. Whether they forgot something, my drink was too watery, my food was overheated and burnt. The last straw for me was today when I waited in the drive thru stuck in between 7 cars for 30minutes! Couldn't move up or back. As an 8 month pregnant woman, I had to ask the 3 cars behind me to back up so that I could get out of line, then the line begins to move forward. I asked the later at the window what the hold up was and her response was " Sorry... we are just really busy...Would you like to order anything?" I'm extremely disappointed and disgusted. Today I decided to give this Starbucks location another chance. I still stand by my original rating of 3 stars. The staff I've experienced have always been kind, professional however it always seems to feel like they are understaffed and unhappy. Getting to this location can be a nightmare depending on the time of day which also impacts my rating. Today I had my go to: iced chai latte with vanilla and hazelnut syrup and I subbed the milk for oat milk. Delicious, 10/10 Double chocolate cake pop: this will always be my favorite. Today, the pop stick was messy with icing from another bakery item, however that's a very minor gripe that won't take away from the overall flavor profile. If I do happen to be near, I would stop by, but this location needs to be planned out due to the growing community and congested shopping center. read more

Been here multiple times when visiting family that lives nearby. The first thing that struck me was that the interior design of this store was different from any of the other Starbucks that I have been in. It's very open, warm and welcoming. I could easily see myself hanging out here reading a book or doing some work. Now the second thing I noticed after multiple visits is long lines at the drive thru, and inconsistent customer service inside. One time my wife and I went by and there was a note on the door saying they were closed because they did not have enough staff. Based on my expereince, I would not recommend that you go out of your way to go to this Starbucks. If this is your local Starbucks you know what to expect and are setting your expectations appropriately. read more

This Starbucks is the worst, when we got there it was packed, which is understandable both drive thru and inside. Placed our order for 2 drinks, Iced Brown Sugar and Iced Hazelnut at 11:15 am. As we waited we noticed that the orders were coming out at a steady pace but I overheard a couple say they have been waiting for 30mins. After 20 mins of us waiting we noticed people that ordered after us were getting their drinks and food with within a decent time. By 11:50 we asked the barista, I believe his name was Marv if our drinks were in the queue and he says the ticket just printed out, which is confusing if people that ordered before and after us were getting drinks and food. When another customer overheard us say we've been waiting 45 mins she was shocked and said when the managers are not working in the store it is always chaos and proceeded to grab her drink and she ordered after us, the same exact drinks. Luckily one of the customers spoke to Kyree about us waiting and he proceeded to let barista know that he overlooked our order and to make it. We literally waited for 55 mins to get our 2 drinks. The young lady at the counter helped out as much as she could while attending to customers at the counter and restocking for the barista that was moving too fast and doing a whole bunch of nothing. I usually go to get my medicine ball drink from the Starbucks inside the target in Upper Marlboro Md.Today I had my son to get one at the Woodmore location 7:45 pm. This drink did not taste like a medicine ball. It just taste like regular herbal tea. I did not taste the peppermint nor the lemonade or honey in it. I even tried to contact the store and no one picked up the phone . Starbucks you gotta do better at this location and I read the reviews at this location after the fact that I got my drink and I can see why it's not good. I went through the drive thru to order a Frappuccino. I do not drink coffee so I asked the employee what were my options. She explained to me that I could select a variety of other non-coffee drinks to create a cold beverage. I ended us ordering a strawberry frap with whipped cream. I just had a positive experience with this Starbucks location. I ordered my drink on the mobile app and when I came in, it was ready for me. They have a system where drinks are placed in front of the letter of your name. This is making it easier for people to find their drinks and exit quickly if necessary. The first time I asked someone if they knew if it was down I was told they just reset the router so it should work. This time I was told they don't control the wifi. So disappointing. I've been a faithful customer of this location over the years, preferably due to the drive-thru service. The quality of their service is going extremely down. Today I decided I can no longer do it.. I do believe since this is a very busy location that they try to save on their products and they are not making the drinks accurately anymore. It has gotten worse each visit lately. I am lactose intolerant so I can taste when whole milk has been added to my drinks vs. substitutions such as oat milk, etc., When customers are requesting special substitutions, it's primarily due to health reasons/personal choices so the request should be honored.
