I am a Starbucks barista (granted, at a licensed location) who doesn't often leave reviews, but my experience at this particular location left much to be desired, and I only wish to offer some constructive criticism. I have no intention of being rude, and I apologize in advance if any of the following comes off that way. I intend to be fully objective, as experiences like these do not bother me emotionally, save for mild disappointment. I pulled into the drive-thru with a mobile order (a Venti iced coffee w/ cream and brown sugar, an Egg, Pesto, & Mozzarella, and a chocolate croissant) placed roughly five minutes prior around 9:00 PM. I expected to wait for a minute or two, since the estimated wait time was anywhere between four and seven minutes. However, I ended up waiting in the car line for roughly ten minutes before making it to the window, and the reason why was obvious when I did. I wish I could say that they were only running behind because they were busy with in-store orders, but from what I could see, the customer areas were mostly empty. When I finally pulled up to the window, a few baristas were simply standing there in front of the espresso machines and socializing with one another. Yes, it is important to get along with your coworkers, especially in such a high-pressure workplace, but when you have a queue of so many orders to fulfill, socializing should not be the priority in that moment. One barista finally opened the window and politely informed me that they were out of brown sugar, so I asked for vanilla instead. They were happy to oblige. I then waited another ten minutes before receiving my order. Both food items were cold, and the iced coffee was warm and tasted watered down. This experience evidence of little to no beverage sequencing and no Customer Support Cycle, as well as, more broadly, a lack of understanding of and/or care for the "Starbucks experience." I'm no manager, not even a shift lead, but I can tell these baristas, however pleasant they were, are not following their training to the best of their abilities. I hope someone there sees this and thinks of it as a learning experience, though I know I don't often look at reviews for my own location. Employees are really sweet. Drinks made accurately are very hit or miss. I haven't been inside only drive thru but it's clean over there. My last visit I asked for a caramel macchiato with extra caramel drizzle. I did not get extra caramel drizzle but instead 4 large pumps of caramel were loaded into my small tall coffee. I am a former barista. There should not be any pumps of caramel in this drink. Only pumps of vanilla, steamed milk, then layered espresso with the caramel. My drink is so sweet I can barely drink it. This is a caramel latte. Please train your baristas the difference. read more

This location has very friendly staff. I remember I even got a coffee on the house because the associate messed up my order. :) The only thing I HATE about this location is how it is almost always freezing cold here. Seating is fairly okay for a location of this size (somewhat small). There is a drive-thru as well if you just want to grab some coffee on the go. The drive-thru area is kind of located towards the back of the store, but it isn't hard to miss because this Starbucks is wedged at the end of a mini strip of stores so you will definitely see it. Parking is surprising not really a pain since this location is located on a hill (ish) among a few other stores along the strip. There is only one access path to get to this Starbucks because it is seated on a hill. If I'm confusing you, then it just means that you cannot access this location from the back side of this mini strip. read more

I ordered a caramel brulle latte and I got a hot chocolate that was a very lazy thing to do

It took 17 minutes to get 8 cars through the drive thru line. Once I was sandwiched in line with no turn around, I was told that the coffee bean grinder was broken and they didn't have any Pike roast. The subbed Americana, which tasted like dirt water, and charged a $1.00 more for the cup than the Dawsonville location does. When I asked about the price, the girl at the drive thru window (who had also dropped the car in front of me's pastry on the ground, which extended the long line further) told me to just go brew a pot of Folgers. THIS IS THE WORST STARBUCKS WITHIN 100 miles! read more

Horrible! I should have just asked what they did have or what they wanted me to have they were out of EVERYTHING and it was only noon! And, some one attempted to clean the door/window with a dirty rag because it looked like it was milk soaked! Not a good look for you Starbucks! I'll go to a different location for sure! read more

10/05/21 mid afternoon. Stopped for a trenta black tea and lemonade. The drive through line was empty. It is rare since Starbucks transitioned to the sipper lids on the cold beverages that the staff offers you a straw so I always have to ask. Not today! The team member offered me a straw. Thank you. Those cups aren't convenient to drink out of while driving. A straw is a must for me. read more

There's never an excuse for bad service. If I ask you if the cup of coffee that's been sitting at the counter for 20 minutes is mine because I never heard my name called (the place isn't that big), your response should never be, "I don't know what does it say on the cup?" with the WORST possible attitude. ...especially if I overspend on your mediocre coffee and pastries. read more

I really enjoy my mid day trips to this Starbucks! The staff is always friendly and talk to me while I wait for my delicious coffee beverage. I have really branched out at Starbucks in general and have tried so many new drinks and here are some of my favorites for you to try: Pumpkin Spice, Iced coffee with one pump classic one pump vanilla (tastes just like a latte but without the hefty price tag), Salted Caramel Mocha Frapp, White Mocha Frapp, Hazelnut Macchiato, and their Cool Lime refreshers. I stopped in today to use the free wifi. I've always liked the atmosphere that Starbucks provides. There's something calming about the sound of milk steaming and other people murmuring and laughing. However, the customer service was extremely lacking. The drive thru was busy and they were busting out coffee at a reasonable speed. However, as a cashier myself, rushes are no excuse to compromise on friendliness. My order was taken with no smiles, or warmth. Just an "ok" and "do you want a receipt?" They seemed friendly enough with a man I assume was a regular, but as soon as he left, the attitude turned cold again, Still, my coffee was good and I have no complaints about the food. I'm particularly fond of the flat whites lately. I passed up on pastries this visit, but my usual favorites are the cheese Danish and the lemon pound cake! read more

A pretty great Starbucks, in my opinion. I recently moved to an apt complex that's very close by, and so I've gone a couple of times now. I went there yesterday and, granted, the p,ace was practically empty, but my drink was prepared very quickly. And I think that's always something to be appreciated. And it was made well, too: a soy ice chai latte, with lite ice. A lot of Starbucks seem to have a hard time understanding 'lite ice', adding a ton and making me feel like I've spent $4 for half the drink. But not here, the amount was perfect. The staff was also very friendly. I chatted with two employees as one of them prepared my drink, and it seemed like they enjoy having regulars and adding another to the list. I felt very welcome. I grew up drinking this stuff...high school days doing homework here and stuff. But it's been awhile since I have been back... so recently we were in the area and decided to stop by.This is the only legit starbucks in Gainesville area. Service wasn't that great because the barista was very crisp and unfriendly while taking our order....guess it's been a long day. Other than that, our drinks were nice, cold ,good and was out fast. No complaints there. Also, it seems that within the past year or so, they have added more chairs and tables and in exchange took out the sofas. They also put up fences on the outside chairs and tables. Overall, I love coming here whenever im back in town. read more

Yesterday my cashier (Greg) was extremely aloof and seemed stoned. I came with a large group of friends to showoff the 6 exciting new Frappuccino flavors. I asked Greg to tell my friends the names of the new flavors, and he answered, "There's hundreds. Whatever you want." To help refresh his memory, I mentioned the one new flavor I could remember: Red Velvet Cake. "Can you remind me what the other new flavors are, please? We want to get them." To this, he replied, "Yea, like I said, there's hundreds. If you want a list of them, you can google it. Does anyone have a phone?" Yes he did. When he gave us our change (which was a few coins) he made a point to say, "Don't spend it all in one place." This snide remark was a jab at the fact that we didn't leave him a tip. read more

I have been going to this Starbucks for years and never had a bad experience until recently. In the past 2 months their speaker has been going in and out and I have been very understanding and even told the employees about it. Wednesday New Years Day around 11:30 am, I pulled up to the speaker box and could not hear the person taking my order. I didn't say anything about it and proceeded to order my drinks in the same tone I usually order anything. The girl started saying she could not hear me and I got louder. I told her I had "3 orders" just to make sure she knew I was ordering more than 1 thing since she could not hear me. When I finished ordering I told her I had my own cups. The girl then said "Great, now I have to start this order over". I apologized and she did not acknowledge it, she then proceeded to tell me the price of each individual drinks. I told her it was all on one order I was just saying there were 3 items. She got upset again and told me to pull up. When I pulled up, the tall girl at the register and the other shirt girl, that was making my drinks, looked over agitated and did not greet me like the other Starbucks usually do. They proceeded to be short with me and the short girl told me in a condescending voice "Next time, just order your drinks don't say you have '3 SEPARATE' drinks". I politely said "Well I didn't say separate, I just told her I had 3 orders bc I don't think she could hear me". The shirt girl said "STILL don't say that next time" and closed the window. Never again am I going to this Starbucks, I'll just drive the extra miles and go to either the Starbucks in Target or go to oakwood. STEER CLEAR of these rude employees and place, hopefully management can send those 2 employees back to some customer service training. A small Starbucks which is not the quickest, but caffeine is served with a smile. The drive-thru is the best way to go since parking is shared with KiKu restaurant. Order the ICED Marble Mocha Macchiato if you want something different thas not on the menu !! read more

I had given up on starbucks until i moved to Gainesville Ga. Was Pleasantly surprised to find they don't burn and over roast their coffee!! The staff is all great and friendly as well. 5 minutes after I ordered an iced coffee I heard an employee make the sarcastic remark, "Yay, we're out of iced coffee." I sat at the bar area and asked how long it would be to get my beverage and was informed that they would brew more and it would take a few minutes. Shortly after, iced espresso popped up towards me and got several spots on my shirt. The manager saw this happen and simply said, "Oh, that's just espresso and water." I told her that they shouldn't put chairs so close if they're not able to keep from splashing their customers, to which she retorted "We're not the designers." Yeah, I'm well aware. I can only recall a few times in many visits at this location that my drink was actually made the way I ordered it. It rarely ever tastes right. Crowded location. Unprofessional staff. One time I ordered an iced americano and then a female employee who didn't even take my order asked if I wanted steamed milk. Honestly I had no idea what she meant by that. I didn't know if that was a process for cold drinks or what. Confused, I just said "Sure." When I received a hot americano, I told the same girl, "This was supposed to be iced." She took it back from me and sarcastically said, "I thought STEAMED MILK would give it away." I wanted so badly to say something mean back to her because the man taking my order should've made it clear to her that I specifically asked for an ICED coffee. So I thought ICED AMERICANO would "give it away". When she made my drink correctly, she flung/slid it across the counter at me, and if I hadn't caught it, it would have slid over the edge and spilled all over the floor. I should have let it spill so she'd learn her lesson and have to make it again. She has also been rude to my dad too. Getting snobby with him when he used coupons and such...THEY'RE MEANT FOR CUSTOMER USE. Also, I have seen the staff here dress very inappropriately for a coffee shop...Hooters T-shirt, short shorts, random printed tops, fall-off-the-shoulder blouses, and even pajama pants. Nope, I'm not kidding. This location has very poor customer service, they obviously are all trained by a moron who has no good taste in coffee, and the atmosphere is so bland and boring. The employees are passive with the customers. No quality interaction. This is the closest location to my home, and it's a shame that I feel more anxious than excited when I walk through the door. This has to be the worst Starbucks my husband and I have visited. Ordered 2 skinny peppermint lattes extra hot. Neither cup was filled and the coffee was not even hot. Warm enough to drink it quickly. We determined never to return. However today we really needed a pick me up from exhausted shopping in Oakwood and we reluctantly decided to give this Starbucks a second chance. Ordered 2 caramel lattes extra hot. THERE WAS NO COFFEE! The barista must have heated water and put caramel in it. But they were extra hot. We shall never again waste our money or tastebuds on this ill run establishment. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Save your money and drive either to Dawsonville Highway Starbucks or Flowery Branch in Target. We get better Starbucks coffee from Ingles baristas. read more
