Literally one of the worse Starbucks Ive ever been to. How is that even possible!? Majority of the time I order a Pink Drink and everytime I order..they never shake it up in the shaker! The poor each measurement into the cup I'm supposed to drink out of and hand it over. Today they even forgot the strawberries that are supposed to be placed at the bottom of the drink. When I made the barista aware..he went to the back and got the bag of dried strawberries..took my drink back opened the lid and poured the strawberries on top directly from the bag! How disrespectful! And he gave it back to me as if that's okay. Least to say, they're lazy in this Starbucks location..they do every task in a quick lazy way and they all lack customer service quality skills. This Starbucks isn't great. Homeless guys are here all the time and the staff aren't friendly. I only go here bec it is close to campus and open later than other Starbucks. But they need to work on getting the homeless out, work on their customer service skills and cleaning the place up. And like another customer said, the bathrooms are always either out of toilet paper or soaking wet. If there was an alternative out there, I'd go there. read more

This starbucks has the friendliest staff and plenty of space to work. It's open until midnight which makes it a great place to work with others or study. The only thing that I don't like is how loud the music is at this location. There is street parking outside of the store! read more

I have never seen a more ineptly managed group of people. There were 5 workers standing around with people leaving without their food or drinks because the wait time was over 20 mins. When I asked if anyone planned on making drinks today, I finally received my order. This was a 45 minute experience. Watching medical professionals and front line workers give up on their paid-for food and drinks is UNACCEPTABLE. they also turned off mobile ordering which I assume is to continue making it harder to get your drinks. Ordered a short pike with room. Received a tall with no room. I don't want that much coffee. But the real kicker is when the older grandmother after me in her 70s tried ordering and the barista had to repeat themselves several times. They instructed the grandmother, who was obviously hard of hearing, to "clean out your ears" using a stern tone. WTF. This employee doesn't need coaching, they need dismissal from their job. I think this Starbucks deserves a lot more credit than it gets. It's hard to find an escape in Evanston, for all of the Northwestern students in a concentrated area. Although one of the bigger Starbucks, it definitely holds at capacity at any given time. It's a bit loud, but it is honestly a Starbucks to kick back and converse. I decided to give this Starbucks another try because it's been a while. No, employees are still cold af. How do this awkward people get jobs there? I went up to the counter because my order was wrong and one employee with glasses looked me in the eyes and kept walking to the back area. Like another reviewer stated, might as well be working in a dance club the music is crazy loud. I had my headphones on with white noise as high as it could go and I still couldn't drown out the noise. Did not want to approach all the guys on duty cause they scary. On both consecutive days I was there the women's bathroom had no toilet paper. WHY does this have to be the only Starbucks open that late?! I'm writing this as I leave... the guy who has gauges in his ear and has blonde hair was so RUDE!!! I've been In Here multiple times each time I got horrible service. I work around the corner so this location is convenient for me. Today I noticed that they always been rude to me but today how I watch them interact with other guests much better tone and service. Is it because of my skin color? My tattoos? Which is it? I ordered a drink and asked for it a certain way... why do you have to be snarky about it and then snarky about about my drink to another employee. My drink was CRAP and today for my 4th visit, still shit service. 10$ down the drain. I'm in the industry and this just not cool. You shouldn't be rude based on someone's appearance. I feel completely uncomfortable to go back into that Starbucks! I will never recommend this location to anyone. I pay almost 10$ for my coffee, I didn't pay to have bad service. Yep, it's a Starbucks, but I knew I liked this place when a guy and his cute kid *rode* through the door. He was walking, but his kiddo was on a training wheels bicycle (grown up stroller). Kid got off bike and parked it inside, proudly approaching the counter. Ha! This location is huge. If it wasn't for the familiar menu, I might have closed my eyes and thought I was at another coffee stop. The vibe here is fantastic. I had a meeting here the other day, and since I typically hold meetings at another spot in town, I'll fully admit to having never been here before and was thrilled when I finally gave it a chance. I always figured it would be too usual, but boy was I wrong. The seating is more than abundant, and though it was pretty crowded, snagging one of the comfy chairs wasn't a problem. The only thing I would change about my entire experience was the disgusting...and I mean gross sweaty workout chic who was standing in front of me with sweat literally dripping off her body onto the floor. Eeeeew, I'm feeling sick just thinking about it. I'm thinking they need a sign that reads *Our iced tea is guaranteed to cool you down, but please leave your dripping sweat at the door*. This Starbucks was renovated a little while back, and the interior is much more spacious now, making it an even more popular spot for students. Even though this location is almost always full of studious students, there are many options for seating - by the bar near the window, bar near where the baristas are, communal table in the back, in addition to a handful of 2-3 person tables. The people who work at this location have been friendly every time I've come in, and because of how busy this location can get, the service is fairly quick. Starbucks tip - bring your own thermos/mug and save 10 cents off your drink. :) read more

So I came back because this is in my neighborhood and I love the day crew people. Here's what I found out. There was a student who was curled up in a chair sleeping and kept sleeping for 30 minutes without anybody coming up about sleeping. Same manager who kicked out the old man for sleeping, and he wasn't asleep for the hour and a half as I sat next to him. That incident included police action. Here's another observation, this is 99% filled with students. It used to be a better mix of students and residents when it was a smaller store. What is upsetting? There is a lovely Starbucks on campus right next to a large seating area which includes a view of the lake and fireplaces. If you fall asleep there, nobody says anything. The library is just across the walkway for those needing to study. Evanston residents cannot go to this Starbucks. Only students. Thankfully Panera is down the street so I do not need to leave my neighborhood for coffee. read more

I'm late to the party, but the new location is a vast improvement over the previous location - it actually holds more than 3 people now. I love the new industrial ambiance that is very much made for instagram. The staff were very courteous, and pretty quick with our orders. Granted, it's summer and the students aren't back on campus yet to swarm the place, but right now it's definitely one of the better Starbucks I have been to. read more

Update: The new storefront has added a much-needed improvement in the seating arena. They're also now one of the Starbucks licensed to serve wine after 4pm. If you're the kind of person who wants to drink wine at a Starbucks, well, then, I guess you are in luck. I have to echo steven d's comment about the upcharging--they've tried to pull similar stunts on me, but I fight it. I usually order a blonde roast, black. I tried ordering one around 2pm, and I had this conversation: Me: "Grande blonde roast, please." Sbux Guy: "Um, we don't have any blonde roast brewed. We don't brew any after noon." Me: "Huh, it seems like there should be a sign up that states that. After all, it is on your menu, right there." Sbux Guy: "We can do a pour-over for you. It would just be 40 cents extra." Me: "No, I'd actually like to pay the price that's on the menu. if you have to do a pour-over, that's fine, but I'm paying the price that's posted right there." Sbux Girl (walking up): "We have some blonde roast right here" (points Sbux Guy to carafe behind the counter). Sbux Guy: "Yeah, but that was brewed a while ago." Me: "That'll be just fine. Thanks." The wifi here is WAY too slow. I just was downloading a 1MB file and it took about 5 minutes. If you want people to come here to get work done you need to offer an internet connection that's not prehistoric. Truth of the matter is that people have enough brand loyalty to Starbucks that they'll keep coming despite the internet connection, so I don't see this improving anytime soon. read more

I've been here a bunch of times (although not as often as some, as I don't have a java addiction.....yet) and my drinks have always been mediocre to OK at best. Service is also sometimes hit or miss...I ordered a tall apple spice, no caramel/whip and he put on caramel before I could say something. Then, when I pointed this out, he hastily made a drink for me that, tasting it down the block, seemed as if he'd just poured the syrup into my cup. Honestly, if you cant even do basic starbucks drinks right, how am I expected to give this a decent rating when compared to the other, far more accommodating and creative, cafes all over Evanston? read more

I always come here because I live about a block away in Evanston. In fact, I'm writing this review here right now. I love that there's a mix of Evanston residents and NU students here, and a lot of the residents do too! Just a few moments ago, one man said something along the lines of, "sitting with students makes me feel young again!", and yesterday, a lady told me that she thinks it's cool to be surrounded by people who are working on things she didn't understand (don't worry - of course I assured her that if she had the exposure she'd pick it up easily!). Yes, it's crowded at times, especially on Sundays or during exams week, but it's pretty much adjacent to campus, so what do you expect? I've never seen students being overly loud, rowdy or not cleaning up after themselves. And I doubt the renovation would have happened if it weren't for the huuuge amount of sales that the students bring in. If you don't like students, there's another Starbucks on Chicago/Dempster. There are a lot of outlets (look under the table if you're sitting in the section near the cash registers!), the music is great, the temperature is comfortable, the renovation is stunning. The baristas, especially Natan and Chris, are very warm and friendly (though there are two others that give me a blank expression every time, but I can dig it). They don't always make my drink at the temperature I request, but that's alright. Should I make a food recommendation? Try the madelines! I come here almost every day and I'm a regular customer. Not once have they messed up my order until now. I ordered a grande iced Carmel latte and that's what I was charged for but instead when I got my order it was a tall grande latte with no whipped cream on top or the caramel swirl I come here alot and expect them to get my order right but must have been the employee taking my order who had weird makeup lines next to her eyes read more

Feels bad to pan Starbucks but as locations go this was a severe disappointment. The place looked new and was attractively decorated. Unfortunately, the service was inattentive, they got one of the drinks wrong and the place was filthy! The condiment tables had spills, empty containers and an overflowing waste basket. The counter was sticky and smeared and there were wrappers on the floor. I hope this is not an ordinary occurrence. Ok. Time to be fair. I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED AT THE TREATMENT AT THIS STARBUCKS. I ordered my usual drink of a pink drink with no ice and watched it being made. Right before it was handed to me, one of the male workers took it and scolded his coworker for filling the cup full with pink drink. He proceeded to DUMP THE CUP OUT. And filled it half with water and half with pink drink. He wasted a WHOLE CUP just to prove a point. IS IT A CRIME TO WANT NO ICE???? I was getting breakfast and the paper the morning I went to this location, but it seems to have a problem keeping the homeless away from harassing the customers. It was clear they had a problem when a homeless guy shaking his cup for change, but what he did next had me floored...he pulls out a cell phone and starts texting and the guy sitting at the far table on the end was totally not seeing what this dillweed was doing. Plus not to mention he had a Starbucks coffee cup next to him...so apparently this guy was pretending to be homeless, but could afford coffee from Starbucks and to pay for a cell phone to text off of. This location was pretty funny in my honest opinion. This location gets 5 stars for service and professionalism. read more

Well, let's talk about coffee:) This is one of that things I can't imagine my life without. I drink coffee every day, I drink a looooot of coffee and I love it:) Starbucks is definitely my favorite coffee place. I have app with them that makes ordering easier and faster every time. As well as keeping my rewards up:) Yes, that's a little expansive and I don't even want to count how much money I spend for Starbucks every month that's really a lot ‍ but I just can't stop because that's so delicious. Regularly, I have hundreds pictures on my phone with a cup of Starbucks & new manicure. But I just erased everything yesterday so could found any to post now. Oh, yes, my favorite one is Hot Grande Hazelnut Latte. Forever! Sometimes I change it for White Chocolate Mocha but it's kind of too sweet for me. Once I decided to try smoked toffee nut, I guess, and that tastes like salami Any way, I love Starbucks ;) not just for the coffee but for cute cups and atmosphere. read more

You're not going to get the remodel to place and they made it really nice and stay move but the weight as usual is always too long people are very nice they try to serve you but the overload of people and not enough servers makes it quite complicated I would say good establishment bad management however the food does come in fresh they do not leave its tail very hard to get a seat if you're planning out on a meeting or talking to someone or taking some time out to sit down and have a coffee however in the summertime outdoor seating which is quite wonderful because you can enjoy the atmosphere Evanston is a beautiful place taking a little fresh air have a nice cup of coffee it's absolutely lovely read more

Ashley was the best Christian barista and manager. She helped me pick out the best loaves of bread for people and it tasted great. People seem to always compliment her. I was able to meet her and she kept me laughing. I loved that she was a Christian and I know Yeshua HaMashiach my Husband will always be with her. I agree with the other reviewers about the loud music. Not good for working. Also, it's super distracting and unprofessional when the baristas who are on break sit at the coffee bar while the baristas on the clock making the drinks were talking to them and having a full on conversation. The reason the customers were giving you a hard time in the first place was that you made their drink too sweet because you were more worried about chatting with your coworkers. I was sitting nearby hearing all of this and noticed at least two customers who asked their drink to be remade. I also heard a curse word come out of one of the baristas on the clock. read more

I have been to Starbucks all across this country, and this is without a doubt the one that makes the consistently worst drinks, as well as being all around terrible. I'm not sure who does the training here, but you obviously have very poor taste in employees. Today the lady at the register was sleeping standing up, totally forgot about my sandwich, and once again my drink sucked.
