The space is gorgeous, airy yet cozy, it feels so artistic and just cool. The matcha is good. Sadly I got the wrong order and just went with it but the coconut matcha was definitley a new experiece. The drink itself was refreshing and bright. It was not bad actually though i would not get this again. The salted caramel latte was also on that interesting flavor profile. I've learned I'm not an adventurous coffee drinker so I'd stick to their traditional menu. It's such a beautiful space I'd love to come back to read a book and relax for a little bit. read more

The store does smell "sour" - you know the smell of coffee beans. It's a small store with maybe 15-20 seats. One barista. I've had one of the best cups of coffee in my life at Reprise Roasters Evanston. Axel (what a cool name, cool guy too) helped me out when I visited. I was eyeing the Yemen for pourover but decided to go for brewer's choice. He chose the SL-28 from Colombia (Edinson Argote) for me - the coffee that won Justin Bull 1st place in the Brewers Cup championship in 2025. And it's everything I want in a coffee. Complexity, sweetness, a little tartness, fruitiness paired with a good amount of funk (think wine-y, boozy, sparkly on the palette). Even the aroma... I just sat there sniffing my cup like a weirdo for a couple of minutes. Worth. I bought a 6oz tin and it's been my daily driver coffee since I got back home. YMMV obviously while dialing it in with whatever setup you have.. I kept brewing sour cups. I finally got close to what I tasted in that first cup with a Kalita wave / Baratza Encore grinder on setting 16. I kinda wish they had the recipe on their website, but I understand the leaning towards secrecy. Coffee, like many things in life, is highly subjective. That said, this was definitely one of the most memorable cups in 2026, and quite possibly one of, if not THE best coffees I've had in my life. read more

I'd say this is an underrated coffee shop in Evanston! Very few people around me have been to there. I tried their "best latte" and brought it to a beach nearby. It literally deserves the "best" shout! The dining environment inside looks great as well, but I didn't have a chance to sit down with my laptop or book today. There was a bizarre incident with a suspicious woman who'd come in and started talking to my children and I was impressed with the staff and even other patrons who were so alert and quick to take action. The cafe itself is small, but cozy and had a handful of counter and table seating - there were individuals who were studying, doing work, and/or just having a little get-together to do catch up. We ordered: +a Latte - with almond milk, extra hot +a Orgeat Latte - one of their Spring Menu items; this was prepared with house almond syrup, orange blossom water, espresso, and milk; I requested this to be extra hot Both drinks were good, and it came with a nice latte art. It seemed they had some baked goods, but they were all out when we went; I'm thinking these were popular during the morning rush. I loved the selection of thermos, accessories, and even pet treats that they had available for sale. The murals on the wall were beautiful! Stopped by to grab a couple beverages while we walk around the area. The shop was cute and had ~15 seats inside and a small outdoor patio. My husband got the cappuccino which he said was good but not the best he's had. I got the lavender lemonade and was a bit disappointed because the lemonade was just Simply Lemonade from the grocery store. The color of the drink was nice but I honestly could barely taste the lavender. I think it would be a huge upgrade if they made their own lemonade. We love coffee. There's something special that happens when you have your first cup from Reprise. The moment the coffee touches your lips you realize the temperature is perfect. Perfect to bring out the flavor, perfect to drink without burning your mouth. This incredible care they put into each cup is worth every penny. Oh and they are not expensive. Stopped in for a coffee on the weekend and it was fairly busy. I opted for the coconut cream latte, although the decision was difficult with the variety of flavors. It had just the right amount of coconut flavor without being overpowering. I'll definitely be back in to try the Evanston favorite, caramel latte. read more

I've been back a few times since my initial review, and the prices have certainly gone up (b/c inflation) and sadly they don't have the bottomless coffee deal anymore (I can't imagine that was lucrative for them, so not surprising! lol). I didn't love the dark roast I had this last time, but it was fine. They do have some really creative and fun seasonal drinks, and the baristas are all very friendly and have great suggestions. While this isn't a place I would necessarily seek out on my own if I wanted to get work done (it doesn't quite have that vibe), it's not my favorite coffee (especially for the price), and parking can be a little annoying. But, it does work well to meet people for coffee and the service is good. And I do like that it's not in downtown Evanston, so when meeting fellow NU colleagues, we're less likely to run into our students :) read more

We've been going to plenty of coffee shops, in this area, and this has to be one of the best! Now you pay for what you get, this is one of the pricier places for a pour over but it definitely is one of the best pour overs I've had in a long time. Very disappointing. Purchased the dark roast beans with a same day date. Next morning I opened the bag and the beans were dried out and pale. They ground up like little rocks and the coffee had no flavor at all. For 22.00 for less than a pound of coffee, this was a huge disappointment. Stopped in for the third time since it opened because it's not in my neighborhood. First time about a year or more ago, I didn't care for the coffee. Second time, a few weeks ago, had a problem with the drink. This time, the medium half caf almond milk dry cappuccino I asked for was a small ("We only have one size"), and way too bitter, so I requested more almond milk. The barista was right in front of me making a drink but another employee stepped up to help me and said that was a question for the barista who "is busy behind the counter," even though he was right in front of me. So, I asked him again and he said he could top it off with cold almond milk (he put in about a tablespoon) or he'd have to charge me. So much for service with a smile! Now, the tiny coffee was delicious, but cold. Didn't stay because the seating isn't very welcoming although the murals are nice. read more

TURN THE MUSIC DOWN! The coffee is very good, as are the baked goods (though pricey). If you're just grabbing coffee to go, I recommend it. However, if you want to sit and read, do some work, etc, it's a difficult work environment if you can't tune out the music. You'd better like the music that they play because it's VERY LOUD and the genre seems to be chosen at the whim of whichever barista is working.
