This branch of Starbucks is quite a large branch it is located in the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet in Ellesmere Port, out of the two Starbucks locations in the area, this appears to be the larger store yet is also the busiest due to the busier and more central location of Cheshire Oaks.
On a personal milestone for me, this is the 87th Starbucks store I have visited and so far reviewed on Yelp, with a few other branches to come, such as the other branches I visited during my time in Berlin, with around 100 reviews to write from my recent travels, I have some work to do!
It is located towards a few of the eating places in the designer outlet center, and there is also another coffee shop nearby.
The staff here seemed quite friendly, they didn't mind putting my orders into separate transactions, and there was a lot of products too, as I purchased 3 drinks and 2 food items, which she didn't mind putting into separate transactions, which I liked as of course it means I pick up more points for my loyalty card, with a free drink awaiting for every 15 stars I pick up.
My coffee quality was okay, I ordered my regular Iced Caramel Macchiato with Origin Espresso, in this case it was the Blonde Espresso which is my favourite out of the Origin blends. My coffee was a little strong with very little presence of the vanilla and caramel towards the end, to the point it became disgusting and I had to throw away basically the difference in size between grande and venti at the end, which is still a large amount and I should expect a good quality drink all the way through, sadly I did not get that here.
The decor around the store is also quite nice, however they have tried to fill so many shelves with mugs and teabag boxes, I can't help but feel they could have made this so much better and displaying the merch, including the You are here collection which are basically Starbucks "city mugs" with city names on such as Manchester, Birmingham, London, Newcastle etc, which they didn't seem to have any of here, when they could easily have used mugs from large nearby cities Manchester and Liverpool. I can't help but noticed they made the place feel a bit cheap and tacky by just displaying the paper takeaway cups and boxes of teabags and the coffee takehome sachets which basically weren't as appealing and exciting (in terms of display and decor) as it could have been.
A mid to high two-star rating for this Starbucks, the location, store size and service is good, albeit there were some issues such as with this store not having mobile ordering yet as I'm aware still being a non-franchise store which accepts Starbucks cards and is priced the same as other stores. read more
