I was introduced to Black Pudding, an acquired taste for even the English- pigs blood and intestines mashed into a hockey puck. I have nothing to compare it to but a taste of it was good for me. It was crispy, soft like pudding and a bit sweet. I opted for the tuna panini which was terrific. I read it came with chips which I figured were fries but got actual potato chips which was fine I guess. Michael said his All Day Breakfast was spot on except for the sausage which he described as cheap or watery. The other lads said there's were fine and devoured it spite being hung over. Before breakfast I asked to walk past the gates to witness the sprawling fields. I was welcomed with a bit of apprehension and took a few photos as you may see. Apparently no one asks to go back into the farm. I breathed in the cool air and appreciated the beauty of the English horizon. I was met by the owner, Bill Williams, in a tractor who stopped me to have a bit of a chat. He is a funny man when he said the view was "alright" and there wasn't much to see. I learned the farm was 400 acres and how he had a kick travelling the California coast line several years ago. When I return to Chester I will be sure to come back and eat here and say hello.

Regardless of my prior misconceptions - Brad S and myself needed a caffeine boost to push us on to more shops, so we went inside. Wow - a complete change, no longer is this place looking bog standard and basic, the inside looks so cosy and welcoming and the signage and style of the whole place is great - it would be a great fit in Manchester city centre which is saying a lot these days! There were a few sofas, some comfy arm chairs and then your more regular tables and chairs - all of which looks clean tidy and comfortable. So from entering and expecting a bog standard coffee I left really liking the place and enjoying a very nice flat white. I didn't stop to ask where they got their coffee from but it tasted great and a bit better than your average stock coffee. One final thing to note is the cakes - my oh my - the cakes, they looked incredible! I couldn't bring myself to having one as the Cadbury's Outlet was on the list to visit, but next time I will!

I ordered a red berry cocktail loose leaf tea - which came served in a lovely tea pot and the waitress explained that my tea would be brewed by the time the egg timer ran out. Nice. Neil C. went for an Areopress coffee, which took a while, but was spot on. We had a banana cake in here too - lovely. The sandwiches and other cakes looked great. It should be noted that this is a franchise store, so some prices are higher than your typical Starbucks and this store does close at 19:30 Monday - Saturday, this is slightly earlier than the nearby Cheshire Oaks Outlet location which is open until 8 pm (9 pm on Sunday's). This Starbucks store could be better though... they were out of stock of my usual order, the Cold Brew, instead I opted for a Venti Iced Chai Tea Latte with vanilla syrup and a shot of espresso. I did notice my drink was really sweet, I understand vanilla syrup and chai do have a sweetness to them, but this seemed unnecessarily sweeter than times I have ordered this drink at other Starbucks locations, my friend also said the same about her caramel latte, my guess is the baristas were going a little too heavy-handed on the syrup. My guest's tall drink turned out to be grande, which was charged as such too. There was a small number of comfortable seating, but most of the seating was the typical wooden chairs - perhaps this store could do with a refurb to look nicer and more modern, compared to the newer Starbucks stores, it feels like this store hasn't been given much TLC in years. There is a small outdoor seating area, but only enough for 2/3 tables, not the best outdoor seating area due to being directly in front of a retail park, or car park but still nice enough on a sunny day. 2* - A useful location as it doesn't tend to get as busy as the Cheshire Oaks Outlet location, but a poor Starbucks branch overall which I probably wouldn't visit again.

I then treated myself to a peppermint tea and a white chocolate and pistachio cookie - such an unusual and classy combo! Loved it! The *only* thing I could complain about was that the infuser for the peppermint tea leaves was a little loose so a lot of the leaves escaped into my glass but I was able to fish them out easily and the tea was lovely so I really didn't mind :-) I only wish I was based in the business district of Liverpool so I could frequent this lovely place more often.
