Got a latte. It was okay. More on the milky taste than coffee. Good customer service and fair prices.

I was introduced to Black Pudding, an acquired taste for even the English- pigs blood and intestines mashed into a hockey puck. I have nothing to compare it to but a taste of it was good for me. It was crispy, soft like pudding and a bit sweet. I opted for the tuna panini which was terrific. I read it came with chips which I figured were fries but got actual potato chips which was fine I guess. Michael said his All Day Breakfast was spot on except for the sausage which he described as cheap or watery. The other lads said there's were fine and devoured it spite being hung over. Before breakfast I asked to walk past the gates to witness the sprawling fields. I was welcomed with a bit of apprehension and took a few photos as you may see. Apparently no one asks to go back into the farm. I breathed in the cool air and appreciated the beauty of the English horizon. I was met by the owner, Bill Williams, in a tractor who stopped me to have a bit of a chat. He is a funny man when he said the view was "alright" and there wasn't much to see. I learned the farm was 400 acres and how he had a kick travelling the California coast line several years ago. When I return to Chester I will be sure to come back and eat here and say hello.

It should be noted that this is a franchise store, so some prices are higher than your typical Starbucks and this store does close at 19:30 Monday - Saturday, this is slightly earlier than the nearby Cheshire Oaks Outlet location which is open until 8 pm (9 pm on Sunday's). This Starbucks store could be better though... they were out of stock of my usual order, the Cold Brew, instead I opted for a Venti Iced Chai Tea Latte with vanilla syrup and a shot of espresso. I did notice my drink was really sweet, I understand vanilla syrup and chai do have a sweetness to them, but this seemed unnecessarily sweeter than times I have ordered this drink at other Starbucks locations, my friend also said the same about her caramel latte, my guess is the baristas were going a little too heavy-handed on the syrup. My guest's tall drink turned out to be grande, which was charged as such too. There was a small number of comfortable seating, but most of the seating was the typical wooden chairs - perhaps this store could do with a refurb to look nicer and more modern, compared to the newer Starbucks stores, it feels like this store hasn't been given much TLC in years. There is a small outdoor seating area, but only enough for 2/3 tables, not the best outdoor seating area due to being directly in front of a retail park, or car park but still nice enough on a sunny day. 2* - A useful location as it doesn't tend to get as busy as the Cheshire Oaks Outlet location, but a poor Starbucks branch overall which I probably wouldn't visit again.

As of yet…read moreuntouched by the coffee chains (save for a Costa Express in the big Sainsburys) it's great to see that there is space for the independent coffee shop in these country villages. So when the company decided to open another coffee bar in the next village down, of course we all had to go and check it out! This place is a bit bigger than its counterpart - gorgeous location situated on a road right by the front, in the summer I can totally see people ordering coffee and sitting outside to drink in the view across to nearby Wales. In slightly chillier spring though, we sat inside - although the sun did come out as we left, so I imagine that the back area could turn into a bit of a sun trap. There were already some families out there with their dogs (since it's an animal friendly area), very comfortable and quaint! The coffee is a mild roast, but with a really nice deep nutty flavour, I almost prefer it to Starbucks! (This is actually quite a big deal to me, I know how many people hate the company but I CANNOT get enough of Starbucks coffee!). The decor is stripped back - exposed wooden walls and pipework visible in the ceilings gives the shop a cool, slightly industrial feel to it. Obviously done to appeal to a younger clientele, the premise also stays open later as a bar to attract some nightlife later in the evening. Definitely have to pop down to check that out when I'm back!

Now inside it's very pretty ... the art on the walls is amazing, the layout of the store is really good with plenty of space, the food counter is very bright and spacious so you can see everything you're getting. However, the drinks have been hit and miss for a while ... but I tend to have this issue with Starbucks lately ... but today (jan 8th 2022) the drink was very well made and ordered ahead so it was quick to arrive. It's your basic Starbucks to be honest .. menus is the same all over, staff are generally good ... the open counter does attract flies in summer months though so that was an off put occasionally ...but for a quick coffee when shopping ... it works.

On a personal milestone for me, this is the 87th Starbucks store I have visited and so far reviewed on Yelp, with a few other branches to come, such as the other branches I visited during my time in Berlin, with around 100 reviews to write from my recent travels, I have some work to do! It is located towards a few of the eating places in the designer outlet center, and there is also another coffee shop nearby. The staff here seemed quite friendly, they didn't mind putting my orders into separate transactions, and there was a lot of products too, as I purchased 3 drinks and 2 food items, which she didn't mind putting into separate transactions, which I liked as of course it means I pick up more points for my loyalty card, with a free drink awaiting for every 15 stars I pick up. My coffee quality was okay, I ordered my regular Iced Caramel Macchiato with Origin Espresso, in this case it was the Blonde Espresso which is my favourite out of the Origin blends. My coffee was a little strong with very little presence of the vanilla and caramel towards the end, to the point it became disgusting and I had to throw away basically the difference in size between grande and venti at the end, which is still a large amount and I should expect a good quality drink all the way through, sadly I did not get that here. The decor around the store is also quite nice, however they have tried to fill so many shelves with mugs and teabag boxes, I can't help but feel they could have made this so much better and displaying the merch, including the You are here collection which are basically Starbucks "city mugs" with city names on such as Manchester, Birmingham, London, Newcastle etc, which they didn't seem to have any of here, when they could easily have used mugs from large nearby cities Manchester and Liverpool. I can't help but noticed they made the place feel a bit cheap and tacky by just displaying the paper takeaway cups and boxes of teabags and the coffee takehome sachets which basically weren't as appealing and exciting (in terms of display and decor) as it could have been. A mid to high two-star rating for this Starbucks, the location, store size and service is good, albeit there were some issues such as with this store not having mobile ordering yet as I'm aware still being a non-franchise store which accepts Starbucks cards and is priced the same as other stores.
