I'm pretty sure everyone knows what Starbucks is and where to get it. But I love it! My kids like the strawberry açaí refresher.

Sometimes it takes a few visits to find what you prefer & tailor your drinks to your taste. I like that they accommodate you that way- ex: More sweet, less oat milk etc.. -ICED LATTES- *Mocha coconut (summer seasonal): MID. 1st time good, 2nd not great. *Campfire (seasonal): GREAT *Vanilla: GOOD *Spanish: GOOD -FOOD- *Brisket burrito: GREAT *Breakfast tacos: GREAT *Avocado toast: GOOD -ATMOSPHERE- *outdoor space: nice but not meant for long periods. *indoor space: a bit sterile/ modern industrial but very clean. *service: polite. Recommended bites are their breakfast burrito with the Habanero Salsa on the side, Breakfast Sandwich and Truffle Parmesan Tots with a Vanilla Latte or a Lemonade to cool you down.

I understand being friendly and making people feel welcome, and a quick chat is totally fine. But sometimes the conversations go on for several minutes -- even getting deep into topics like favorite songs -- while people are waiting. Ordering coffee these days is already detailed enough. Most customers just want good coffee and efficient service. A coffee shop isn't a psychologist's office. I don't know if this message should be directed at the workers who are always trying to be nice or the customers who don't seem to care about the people waiting around them.

Now, their customer service is just poor and inconsistent. To avoid rambling, I'll just speak to one instance when I happened to show up before the line was out the door. There were only five people in line and this couple right ahead of me literally took 10 mins before I could place my order. They were clearly repeat customers and the employee just took half the time placing their order. Then even once they moved to the register the conversation continued with an additional employee joining in. Mind you while this is going on the line doubles. By the time I finally place my order and get my coffee, the line is out the door. No point in wasting time standing in a line for an overpriced coffee that may be good. Honestly, I've had better customer service at Starbucks and I'm out the door in 2-3 mins.

I go there for their traditional tea bobas and I think it's one of the best. They legit brew their tea and, at least for me, their boba has been consistently perfect. Judge boba based on boba flavor (soaked in sweetness), firm/soft texture, freshness. Many places, even on Sawtelle get this wrong. Dan tea gets it right. I am bummed they let go of Phoenix Roasted Oolong tea. I think the owner is being an unnecessary perfectionist there by having to source the "right" one. My younger kid loves getting some of the appetizers. So where could they improve? 1. Presence/visibility 2. Managemeny / consistently They have added their logo/signage and created a vibe, finally! They left so much money on the table from waiting. Now they need to reign in their young employees who are unprofessional, not intentionally, just being young. Left unmanaged or untrained, there's no customer service, no ownership of the brand, and music often blasts way to loud. You can tell they are designed the experience for themselves rather that customers. Contrast that with Dan Modern, we're usually greeted and employees represent the brand better there. If Dan Tea wants to be sustainable, level up these 2 things and I hope more people will enjoy this quality boba place.

Wow, how pretty is this matcha with toasted coconut. The first sip was straight matcha powder and the bitterness hit fast but overall it was creamy and had a lot of texture and flavor. The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. Overall I paid $9, $8.25 for 12oz and $0.75 for almond milk. The self service counter was easy and got my drink in less than 5 mins. I'll be back for the mango matcha.
