WORST Starbucks I've EVER been to. SO RUDE! I gave them 6 bucks and I was all actually here's 10 I want change and the lady said "too late" she didn't even open the drawer yet. Asked for an iced white mocha with almond milk and caramel they gave me a melted ice drink but it was super brown very strong. Seemed like no one knew how to make drinks I asked for a remake and they were very rude. The cashier had the biggest attitude. I hated this place. If you can, goto another location. Another lady asked for a "taller straw" the worker gave her a short one and the lady asked for a tall one again she said I gave you a tall one next time ask for a venti one and the lady was so offended was all sorry I said the wrong thing. I stop by this Starbucks on my way to/from Tahoe every time I go (at least 4/5 times a year). Short/Sweet, this is one of my favorite starbucks'. The drive-through is always a breeze, the employees always seem chipper and up-beat, and the food/drinks are always on point. Keep it up guys! read more

Stopped here on our way home from Tahoe. FRIENDLIEST STARBUCKS EMPLOYEE I HAVE EVER MET!!!!!!!!!!!! Her name was Elisabeth and she was working the drive-thru. This girl deserves some praise. I've been to Starbucks plenty of times, but she was so up-beat, friendly, asked how my day was going & said "Happy Friday." God bless her. I don't know what it is with this particular Starbucks...but unfortunately this has always been one of the least friendly Starbucks. We usually stop here on our way back into town...along with everyone else and their brother...in theory it's the perfect spot for a pit stop and a tea...but in reality we always end up getting annoyed with how rude the employees always are! This Starbucks is very conveniently located rite off the freeway.Be advised it gets crowded with tourists but I guess that's to be expected. They recently remodeled and it looks great. I especially like that they have electrical plugs at every table. Lately the drive through has not been working out too well for me. The last few times I place my order at the speaker and when I get to the window they are not quite sure what I ordered. Worse drive thru experience! First the lady couldn't hear us. We had to ask about bantam bagels and she starts telling us about flavors of the other bagels she had. We got two orders of the French toast bantam bagels and the were all burned and hard like a rock. My tea came incorrectly. The best things was the venti ice water. Oh and what is the deal with not giving napkins? We had to ask with a food item. Feeling irritated! I would rate no stars but can't find the option!!!!! read more

This is my favorite waiting spot to chill early morning while I'm waiting to meet up with friends. By far this is one of my favorite lounge rest stop areas for a starbucks. The seats are nice and comfy and there is wi-fi for you to surf. The facilities are clean and there's a drive thru if you're truly on the go. read more

I visited this Starbucks recently over a holiday weekend. This Place has a huge inside seating area and a small parking lot. It is very easy off and on the freeway. The drink I got was spot on despite the post holiday craziness and the condition of the place. The employees were tired and slammed but friendly despite there was a steady long line. They needed more help and no one was managing. 3 stars because of the condition of the cafe and the only bathroom was trashed (line for the one bathroom was crazy long and people relieving themselves out back behind the propane tank) and the other one still broken from nearly a year ago or more. (If it is blocked off and not fixed for that long it appears like it is a staff bathroom.) During less busy periods this is probably a nice location. Solid for drinks at any time. read more

Okay, so you might be thinking, "It's just another Starbucks." This Starbucks however is located right off the freeway and perfectly accessible and visible when driving back from Tahoe. We went through the drive-through and found ourselves behind an SUV who took forever to order and took double the time at the pay window. We could not figure out the problem, but it was clear that whoever was helping them out was pleasant and patient. When we got to the window, the barista apologized, explained they have been having trouble with the new app and gave our coffee to us in gratis. What a surprise! The coffee hit the spot after only having hotel coffee, but somehow this experience made the coffee taste better. read more

This has been everything from my office, to my parlor, to my favorite Colfax breakfast spot, to my Hwy 80 pit stop, to my Colfax community pulse, to my happy place period for the last ten years. Ive seen people come and go behind that counter, watched some ridiculous humanity ordering coffee and tearing up the toilets. For the volume and kind of "Burger King" beating this place takes from every socioeconomic sector under the sun i have to say its the very nicest Starbucks ive ever been to! I started my habit in Vancouver in 1990 and left an annoying "Ooh La La" SF Fidi knee-jerk routine to cross over to true corporate coffee. My big sis is a double fisted Peets professional anchored from CAL and somehow my daughter caught that bug from her Auntie. Me? Im a Starbucks girl tried and true. I do brew or a Flat White - I'm simple. And Colfax? Thanks for the pics of the town Founder there with the latest remodel- and lovin up an incredible crew that nurtures CALFire and CHP not to mention most bleary-eyed mommies and even more random Bay Area tahoe-bound types and my miscellaneous self. This is probably the dirtiest Starbucks I have ever been in. The bathrooms were unbelievably horrible. There was trash everywhere. Yes they get slammed but you can also have someone out picking up your coffee shop and cleaning the bathrooms. It isn't hard. read more

If you're looking for a Starbucks keep on driving to the next one. This one is filled with flies and had no sugar in the raw. When I noticed there was no half & half the girl looked at us funny and offered to pour some directly from the gallon container into my cup. The counter where they place your drinks had empty straw wrappers laid on top and needed to be wiped down. I sat there wondering how many drinks would be handed across the counter before the straw wrappers were picked up..... For all I know they are still there. How does one give more than 2 stars for Starbucks? Nothing new or different, it's usually clean and the service is good enough. From about 3-4 it can be a zoo with the high school kids.. Just have to say, we got in here just ahead of a family reunion road trip (25 people), a cycling group (15 people) and various other patrons. All told, the line literally formed out the door in a matter of seconds. I am a regular customer here as seeing that I have a cabin in Lake Tahoe, we are forced to head to another coffee place or shop, because this Starbucks is always understaffed, has a slow service, continually under stocked on product, the bathrooms is consistently a mess, and they cannot get an order right. Do not stop here if you want efficient service for s quick coffee on the go. Trust us, wait the extra 10miles to get off at the forrest hill exit for much faster service. While the staff seemed friendly, the management of how best to use 6 staff members left a lot to be desired on our Sunday return from Tahoe at only 2pm in the day (e.g. 1 cashier for a 14+ person line, 1 person making the mixed coffee drinks, 2 workers on drive-through, and 2 more staff who spent the vast majority of their time wandering around despite the fact that the milk & sugar and also the sandwich stations/displays were nearly out of supplies. More to the point of our experience is that we simply ordered ice coffee, not an espresso or other specialty coffee and there seemed to be no understanding of the suggestion that they have someone who can make the simple drinks separately from the barrista.
