No idea what is going on but endless supplies of 5 pound bags of coffee every few weeks is not what I want. I will cancel my subscription, membership and never order again. Perhaps they will get customer service straightened out but as of the last two months it is a nightmare. New- I sent 19 emails with the exact same information-a notice showing a new shipment of coffee mirroring the order I received two weeks ago and asking them to cancel- and this Yelp review. They contacted me via email assuring me the order was cancelled, when my next delivery was due, and thanking me for my years of service. My guess is a negative Yelp review impacts them. I like their coffee. I like the fact some of the money goes to eye cancer research. But beware, you are on your own to handle subscriptions and shipments. And because they answered my emails after multiple weeks of wrestling with this I doubled their star review- from one to a two.,,,,,,,,, For reasons known only to me I am changing my review from 2 star to 5 star. I asked if they would be able to add one of the flavors from a specialty coffee into a matcha instead and I already felt like I was bothering her. She said yeah and every other word that came out of her mouth after that was literally just one worded, no costumer service or friendliness in anyway. I don't think there was even a line behind me. I then tried to order a sandwich for my bf that I thought he would like since he wasn't with me, she told me they ran out of it and I asked what was closest to and she told me....I then said yeah that sounds fine and she began asking me regular questions on how I wanted the sandwich to be, I answered and in the middle of this I saw the pesto sand-which and was like oh he'd probably like that better so I said "I'm really sorry but could I switch it for a pesto instead". Her responses was just "ok". I could tell she was probably handling making the food too and was irritated that I was making it "more difficult for her" but why would I pay for something that I wouldn't really even want or enjoy? I knew what I wanted when I came to the counter and unfortunately they didn't have it. I didn't come to the counter still wondering what I wanted and wasting her time. And you know maybe it wouldn't even be an issue if I didn't see how enthusiastic she was towards the other guy, honestly most coffee shops around here rlly aren't chit chatty and I'm on board w that, we all have somewhere to be and something to do but w that they are the same w every costumer....not picking and choosing. When I got home the sandwich was missing the cream cheese that was listed on the description and it was cold which I'm guessing you have to ask for it to be warmed? A charge I didn't recognize came up on my credit card statement and so I called the number on the statement. Spoiler alert - it was SF Bay. Linda answered the phone, we had a good laugh over my forgetfulness. While I was on the line, she looked up my order and pointed out that I had a monthly recurring for one bag, which charges $6 shipping. She offered to change my order to two bags, every 8 weeks, to avoid the shipping charge. I was so grateful for her help. Taking that moment to look up my order and help me save $6 each order (which will add up over time) was such a kind thing to do. Thank you, Linda - and thank you SF Bay! For those of you still reading my novel - Due to anxiety, caffeine and I are NOT friends. However I love coffee. SF Bay Decaf is the best decaf I've ever had (and please trust me - I drank regular coffee for close to 20 years so know what it's supposed to taste like!) and it is 99.9% caffeine free. So if you want to make the switch, I highly recommend it!
