I should have known when I saw two cars back out and flee the drive-thru, something was way off. First of all, I ordered the easiest thing on the menu- coffee. The coffee was immediately poured but sat on the back counter while we patiently waited for the barista to put a plastic lid on and hand it over. Behind the counter was pure chaos; I'm not sure why. When I did finally get my coffee ten minutes later, the coffee was luke warm and by this time I was too agitated to say anything. Bottom line, come here and expect to wait thirty minutes for a Luke warm coffee... And God forbid you ask for milk! My two cents: the manager here stinks. Average Starbucks and average customer service. It's right off the freeway so it makes it convenient to stop and get back on. The drinks were tasty so happy about that. It wasn't so busy on a Friday evening which was great but still had a long wait in drive thru. read more

Highly allergic to milk hoping they actually put the almond milk in my drink but I'm currently driving and can feel my lips and tongue swelling. Definitely not your normal Starbucks experience. I've had a few very nice interactions with baristas but most are quiet and you can expect a wide range of different qualities when it comes to your drinks. I've had mine made with the wrong syrup a handful of times now. I'd understand that happening if it was a custom drink but it's just a basic caramel macchiato. read more

Not a huge fan of coffee but from the times I've visited this location the comments I hear from family are enough to write a review. They like the friendly service. There fast so they get you in and out which is great especially when you need to make it to work on time. The location is great. Literally across the street from the freeway. Hello Chowchilla! I might end up here someday if the bf keeps pissin' me off and I hit him over the head with a...um...I digress. This Starbucks is right off the 99 - you can't miss it. It's a very standard Starbucks setup, complete with a drive thru. The bathrooms are clean, the baristas are pleasant, and they haven't screwed up my order yet! Yes, this Starbucks is located in an avenue of franchise mediocrity (Chevron, McD, Carl's Jr, etc.) but, it's a freakin' oasis during a 300 mile drive down the 99. Some of these areas look like they haven't changed much since the Great Depression. read more

The only coffee shop in town! Bunch of kids hangout here and enjoy their drinks. It could get packed in some days because of kids just chilling. The service is good and workers were nice if you go inside the store. I won't suggest the drive thru they mess up your order sometimes and they don't lived up on the name drive thru. This is a go-to place for me in the morning, but I was in the neighborhood at night in need of a pick-me-up. The girl ringing me up called back my order wrong more than once. That was a red flag. I ordered a soy green tea latte with 6 scoops of matcha, no classic syrup, and 2 pumps of peppermint. She forgot the soy, but I didn't know this until I got to where I was going, as the drink was too hot to try, and it was dark on my car. I also asked for a water with no ice in my personal cup. There was ice. Ice takes effort! What was she doing?! I recognized her from the morning crew (the reddish hair and glasses were unmistakable), so maybe she was out of her element, but customers can get sick! Even my destination was dark, so I had taken many sips before getting to a well-lit place. I suspected the drink was off, but I couldn't check. I had to throw the rest away, so it wouldn't get me even more sick than it was going to. read more

Honestly, I come to this Starbucks every morning as it's a stop on our morning commute. I usually LOVE the baristas at Starbucks because they USUALLY greet you with a warm and friendly "hello" or a "how are you this morning". Now i understand its early in the morning not everyone is a morning person, BUT this morning when we arrived, the barista took our order, and mind you when we arrived there was NO cars in line, and no one was behind us waiting. We waited for what seemed like 10 minutes at the window for them to even acknowledge us for our payment, and while we're waiting we can see in the window there are 4 lady baristas and they kept taking little glares at us but no friendly smile, no "it'll be right up", nothing lol and i wanted to add some egg bites to my order but i knew it wasn't going to be possible with the fact that they STILL hadn't come to the window!! Then one of the girls made her way to the window, not a "good morning", "hello" or a "sorry for the UNNECESSARY wait",or even a slight smile but just asked for payment, then when she handed us our drinks, i CLEARLY and LOUDLY announced to her that my drink was made wrong, i could tell by the look of it, and she continues with " oh do you want a straw" !! I WAS LIVID. I will be honest i was very upset when i pulled off because of instead of offering to fix her mistake or change it she offered me a STRAW!! almost to say "oh well". I don't think i will be returning here, they need to hire friendlier staff. read more

Love this Starbucks. The staff is always friendly, they have never messed up an order. It's literally the fastest Starbucks I've been too, in drive thru and dine in. If you're in a rush I recommend this Starbucks location. read more

This Starbucks is amazing! Whenever traveling to visit family we always stop at this Starbucks on our way! This evening on our way home was no exception except for one difference I was met by three of the most amazing and might I add patient and caring staff members I've ever met! Rosendo Verduzco, Brianna Gibbs and Maquala Miller were so welcoming, funny and really just made my night after having a rough day at my grams celebration of life service. I messed up my own order and I kindly told them and felt bad and they whipped up the right order immediately and even laughed when I told them I was losing my mind. Lol They all were so complimenting and even when I told them about my situation and why I was just out of sorts they were so sweet and just lifted my spirits! I cannot tell you enough why this is so important! In a time when human kindness is so rare these three amazing human beings lent their ears and kind words to make me feel better! Honestly I wish more young people were like them and all employees within any company should model their staff after these three wonderful people! Thank you to the three of you for making my day a little brighter! My grams was a sweet and kind woman and also a teacher and would have been pleased by this type of kindness and selflessness! read more

Tip of the day. When you order a vinte white hot chocolate and a vinte who hot chocolate mocha you get two coffees instead of one of each. Just thought I would let you in on the secrete. If you guys get wanted anothat free coffee. I'll even tell them this is a tricky oder to keep an eye on for and they still mess up. Hey, my wife gets the hot chocolate though and i get two coffees for the price of one. Hands down the worst Starbucks in CA maybe even the U.S.A. Waited in a huge line to get over charged and have my drink made incorrectly. When I said something the barista came to the window to argue with me. The manager then remade my drink filling it so full it overflowed all over me and my husband. Thank you so much for the horrendous customer service. We will never be back! Do yourself a favor and find a different Starbucks to go to. read more

I'm a corporate sucker, I love this place. They have the best coffee and my personal favorite the green tea latte. I'm so effing addicted.

We were there yesterday morning and the staff were extremely rude to a man asking for decaf. He was a lot more patient and kind than I would have been. I couldn't believe it, he asked if they brewed decaf (of course they do! It's Starbucks!!) I've never seen Starbucks staff act so ignorant towards a customer. Chowchilla highlight. Right off 99 and near other fast food and service stations. This is a favorite stop in the Northern to Southern California trek. Easy in and out with parking out front. This is a small Starbuck's but it has a drive thru. If you go in the restrooms are pretty clean. The sink is still stained brown making me wonder what they rinse, clean, or soak in there?? And why??? Starbuck's are a lot alike but service drives your experience and here it was good. A customer was mulling over what to order, the prices, her kids etc and I was waiting patiently. A barista with dark hair that looked tired yet still came to the rescue and started my drink. It came out as ordered and all was good. Came in here on the drive from Sacramento to LA on a super hot day and really only wanted a black iced tea. The barista, Vince, sounded genuinely sad and told me that he didn't have any black iced tea. I told him that I didn't want anything and proceeded to let my mom order her caramel macchiato. He felt really bad so he asked me if I wanted an iced coffee on the house. I was really moved by this offer and felt I needed to write a good review for this Starbucks because of VINCE. Was passing through when my 2 year old said he needed to use the restroom. Restrooms were clean. I decided to order something for the ride home. After standing at the counter for a few seconds a girl came to the register. I started to order when I was interrupted by the girl yelling to someone in the backroom. This is pretty much the only coffee place in Chowchilla. It is off the 99, has A/C, clean restrooms, and the drinks, as any other Starbucks in the country, are ok. I am not a big fan of Starbucks coffee drinks but being the only one in this town, I give it four stars. read more
