A-ok Starbucks location. The renovations are pretty nice and the staff is always kind. The store and bathrooms are usually very clean and the staff tend to get our orders right. The BIG BIG BIG issue with this location is the miserable parking lot. It seems like it is always full even with just a couple of patrons in the restaurant. Its made worse by the lack of street parking in the area due to the endless construction of the Bradford development. The worst part is when you pull into the lot and realize it is full, it is very difficult to turn around and exit! read more

I generally like this Starbucks, but there are quite a few employees that are really quite hostile. They make me feel so uncomfortable that I'm not going back as long as they're there. I got the feeling that I was not welcome and there is nothing odd about me that I know of, except that maybe I'm a little older than their average customer. It was a very uncomfortable feeling with about three or four of these employees. They need to radically change their attitude from being some kind of a clique to being a hospitable coffee shop. read more

This is as one of the very best Starbucks out there. I do not like their interiors in general, so my top mark for Starbucks is 4 stars, but this one actually looks pretty nice, as the dusty colors are mellowed out by light furniture and wall decorations. Every time I've come here they've forgotten my drink, granted they've made up for it 2 times by giving me a free drink voucher once and the other time giving me a drink no one picked up but still i dont know how it's happened 3 out of the last 3 times. Heads up, if you order food they place it at the complete opposite end of the counter where the drinks go (seems counterintuitive). ha ha, since my original review I have had a kid and still, on occasion frequent the place. It's still a disaster, but after they renovated it's much better. I got a Starbucks gift card for Christmas, and this is by far the closest one to where I live, so I've been using it here. As mentioned before, the parking lot does indeed suck. What has not been mentioned is that there is a public lot right next to the store. Yes, you have to pay to park there but if you can afford to pay Starbucks prices for coffee, you can pay a dollar to park. I generally just go in and get my coffee and leave. The staff has been very good, even the people who are obviously new and being trained. I was given a certificate for a free drink because of the wait the last time I was in. Not necessary, but I appreciated that the barista noticed and had the authority to act. The reason it gets two stars has nothing to do with the quality of the product but everything to do with having to tolerate the other customers while I wait to get my drink. Pretentious is the first word that comes to mind. I guess some people have the time to sit down and spend three hours a day in a Starbucks doing whatever it is they're doing. I don't, as I have to work. And speaking as someone who just finished graduate school, I didn't have the time to do it then either. How can you get anything of value done in such a busy, noisy, crowded space? So I'll give them four stars for the product and one for the atmosphere. read more

My local Starbucks. I come here every day and have for years. I have a history here. So it was surprising when the new guy taking my order informed me that my app account was eight cents short. I told him I didn't have any change and jokingly offered him my debit card. I was amused when he ran it through. 'Seriously?' I said? 'Hey I have 100 customers a day who come up 8 cents short - if I didn't do this for everyone it would cost $80.' Putting aside the fact that eight cents for 100 customers would be EIGHT dollars, not $80, the debit card processing costs for that eight cents just COST Starbucks 25 cents. If this guy does that for 100 customers a day he's *costing* Starbucks $17. But the cost of alienating a long time customer with nickel and dime b.s. like this is just dumb. Starbucks gives me free coffee every 20 orders or so to keep me loyal! Ask me to cover it tomorrow, or just call it even. Slip a dime in the drawer. Invest $.08 in me as a customer - I'm worth it. It's not about the eight cents - I'll pay extra tomorrow when I have a dime in my pocket. I pay my bills. It's about needlessly being a jerk to a loyal customer and costing your employer money because you can't do math. read more

So after MANY regular visits I need to update my review. The staff here makes up for the crappy parking lot. I don't know who hired this group of kids but the weekday afternoon staff here is ACES. Love them! And they never make me feel like a weirdo for ordering a 3 to 4 shot espresso drink at 2 in the afternoon. The parking lot still sucks and people still need to learn to park. read more

So, I had a baby, and now I LOVE this Starbucks. I think I actually did conceive after drinking one of their decaf Americanos (because they were brewing a fresh pot of decaf and I didn't want to wait for it). They have a nasty woman (dark hair, short) who obviously hates her job working there. Other Starbucks do not. Manager (the guy) does not keep the place clean - bathrooms and main room are usually trash. Muzak is usually not too loud (compared to other Starbucks), so that is good. Best would be no music at all - people who want to study or talk do not want to hear the Starbucks tape loop (especially the moronic Christmas crap). read more

The coffee is exactly as "good" as every other Starbucks location. That much, they have standardized. I like the Clover coffee and the free Wi-Fi. What I don't like is asking about the "Petites" and being told that the red velvet whoopie pie doesn't have chocolate in it. I said to the woman, "it's RED VELVET cake. it always has cocoa in it. that's what's IN red velvet cake..." and she still claimed it didn't have any even when I made it clear that the reason I was asking is that I am (tragically) allergic to chocolate. So I looked it up online and found that, of course, it does indeed have cocoa in it. I am going to go up and tell her so and I'll report back about how she handles that.... Ok. She's gone, but the other woman I talked to about it was nice about it and said that of course red velvet has cocoa in it. LOL Now I'm going to try this egg salad sandwich. My expectations are low. I got here on Thanksgiving morning, quite intimidated by the line. (Starbucks is one of the few establishments open on Thanksgiving morning!) However, despite the crowd, the crew was quick and thorough without seeming to be rushed (like a lot of other Starbucks on a normal work day in New York). There's plenty of seating, too. There used to be a bookshelf run by the Belmont Public library where you could take a book, read it, and then leave one of your own books if you desired. One of the worst wait times each and every time. 10 minutes for an unsweetened cold brew? 8 minutes for an unsweetened ice coffee? Granted these are times with a line to the door (and those are times for AFTER I ordered), but how about 5 minutes with next-to-no line? It's clean. The employees are nice. However the time it takes to put out the simplest of drinks is absolutely ridiculous and why I now reconsider coming in here each and every time I pass by. The only reason I do is because once a month I'll have this mad delusion that I can come in here and quickly get a drink when I see only 2 or 3 cars in the parking lot...and like a patient with a catastrophic head injury I wander in, my memory wiped of my previous experiences...oh but they come crashing back in with a vengeance as I wait that interminable period to get my iced coffee with nothing in it but iced coffee. By far the best Starbucks I've ever been to! They are friendly and very fast even during the morning rush. After maybe 3 times going there, they knew my name and what I typically order, but always ask if I want my usual before just assuming and making it. One time I had a woman take my coffee bu mistake and then bring it back once she realized what she did. I am a huge germaphobe so I was hesitant to take it when she brought it back. There are not many options for coffee runs or quick bites to eat near where I work in Belmont, but this Starbucks is one of the closer places to go. I think that the place itself is nice, there are places to sit comfortably and they have nice tables to work from. The location is pretty good (located in Cushing Square, near a bus stop for the 73 line to and from Harvard Square) and they and they also have a parking lot. I have gone several times with coworkers to pick up coffees and the like, and EACH time, there have been mistakes. There have even been times where the mistakes were "corrected" with another mistake!! Now, I know that when I go in, I may be ordering many coffee drinks, but they are pretty straightforward orders and they do write them right on the cup. The employees are always eager to correct the mistakes, and are very apologetic, but it can be frustrating to return to work with the wrong items. read more

The employees are always so very nice! My drink is always made to perfection and they have a good selection of food and snacks. The line, though usually long, goes along fast. This location would have gotten a perfect score if it weren't for the incredibly small and narrow parking lot. Unfortunately, I have gotten blocked in many, many times by rude customers. Cushing square is my favorite Starbucks! The baristas know their stuff and are really accommodating in terms of unusual or specific orders. The warmed bakery items are extremely difficult to resist, I'm very much addicted to the pumpkin bread. The music tends to be distracting if you have serious studying to do, and certain times of the day there is absolutely no seating. This Starbucks makes up for it with very efficient service, the lines are never too bad, even during morning rush hours. Be prepared to fight for an outlet to charge your laptop or phone! As most reviews mention, parking is tough ... I usually park in the larger public lot right next to the private Starbucks one, the meter charge is cheap. I recommend getting a Starbucks card and registering it online to earn a star for every purchase. The rewards program (although it has only worsened my caffeine addiction) is worth it! Free drink or pastry for every 12 stars, and most baristas are fine with you ordering something super expensive :) read more

Once upon a time in another life I worked at Starbucks. Not this one, but a *$ nonetheless -- so I already dislike the place. I only stopped here because I was at the laundromat around the corner and I needed something to eat + a little caffeine. This was by far the dirtiest *$ I have ever been in. The place was a mess, not only the cafe part, but behind the counter too. There were 5 people working behind the counter -- 2 not doing anything as far as I could tell, one working the register and one on the bar. The last one kept wandering off. The girl working the counter had "lost her voice" -- I got the impression that she was being a drama queen, but regardless -- instead of marking the cups and putting them on the bar, she just whispered to the other guy and hoped he could hear her. This was useless. I waited 10 minutes for an unsweetened iced tea because he never heard her call it out. Some red-headed girl just kept going into the back and coming out with free drink coupons for the people waiting for their drinks -- instead of making them. I won't go back is all I'm trying to say. read more

Well, I will be happy to never come here again. For a Starbucks it is average. For how the staff react to a problem, it is horrible. The dividor near the entrance had a nasty bit of sharp splintered wood that was on it that people could get hurt on. I am lucky I suppose that it only ruined my jacket as I waked by. The employees must be trained to never apologize about anything or only show care to customers who scream. Despite the torn threads coming out of my sleeve, both the manager and the barista just blinked at me as if they could not comprehend what I was saying. I changed my mind quite quickly about buying anything. If you can go elsewhere do, but perhaps you want to see for yourself if they have ever fixed that splintered wood. read more

I would highly recommend this area in Belmont (Cushing Square) and this Starbucks in particular! Worth the drive and short distance from Boston! Don't hesitate to stop at this Starbucks. The staff is very friendly, perhaps a little chit chatty for some, but I'd rather happy people making my coffee. The tiny parking lot is a mess but luckily there is a municipal lot immediately next door which is pretty much my go to at this point. Seemed like a pretty typical Starbucks. I was waiting on my fiancé over here and dropped in for a few hours. Coffee was made quick and theres a good amount of seating. The small lot right outside is free, but the larger one next to it costs money to park (boo). It opens up for free after 6PM, but be warned if driving here before 6pm! Does everything your global chain store coffee house should do. They are pretty good about not over heaping the sugar and the service is faster and more courtious than other starbucks in the area. It's a very high volume store so the coffee is always fresh. read more
