As a former partner, I hate having to write complaint reviews but, here we are. There was a clear change to the drive-thru protocol at some point during the summer of 2020. Because of this change, the drive-thru line here became unbelievably slow. When ordering at the call box we were asked to wait multiple times while the barista on the headset "put things in the oven". They don't wait to hear the whole order. They lose the ability to pull all things from the fridge at one time, and they lose the ability to put things in the oven at the same time. I am not sure if this is new sequencing but it doesn't make any sense and after waiting in a drive-thru line for longer than what seems reasonable...it's super frustrating. To avoid this frustration, we mobile order ahead. This way we also reduce the likelihood of mistakes made. Today, not only was my husband given a venti pike with a defective lid (photo) my beverage, a WARM grande green tea latte was not made correctly. It was well over 165F and provided in a venti cup. I don't know why but it seems they cannot consistently make beverages at the warm/kids temp"/130F. Typically I will request the barista remake the beverage because it's not made to order (and I know it's just a button to press to reduce temp)...but this happens WAY too often. I don't think this is a complicated order to have this high of an error rate. Since it is too hot for me, I will have to wait much longer to be able to enjoy my beverage and determine if the contents were made correctly. read more

I'm a little confused why so many of the reviews are so bad, and I can't speak to some of their experiences, of course, but I have had great experiences here. First, yes, it is absolutely packed. It is right on the edge of the developed suburbs of CLE where Starbucks drop off quickly (as do all other shops, and then you quickly enter farmland and Amish country), so it's in the food desert of Starbucks. Plus right in the shopping center of all the major shops. Yes, it's going to get consistently slammed during lunch/weekends, etc. I have gone through the drive through and found the service to be nice (was singing to me, actually ^_^), have grabbed coffee during the work week and found the coffee not to be burnt like people always claim Starbucks is (and it usually is), and one time when out of the cake pop I ordered (yes I am an adult I swear :D) they gave me two of the kind I chose as my second choice. Yes, I am partial to any place that gives you free cake. It's the type of place I whisper to my friends and family -- this is the place for you. read more

This is a great Starbucks store. The employees are always super friendly and I've never had a problem with any of my drinks from this location. The baristas really know what they're doing! This Starbucks pretty decent. The wait is sometimes quite long, and it's pretty busy.* (Currently there are 3 people waiting in line to order, and 18 people waiting for drinks. Yes, 18.) There are a lot of younger people who come in and hang out in large groups, so because of that + the crowd of people waiting for drinks, it's not the best place if you want a quiet location to study at. I originally gave this location 3 stars, but updated it to 4 because they brought back the comfy chairs. Sitting anywhere in the front of the store sucks in the winter because every single time someone comes in or out (about every 1-2 mins) you are blasted with freezing air. It's almost unbearable from Oct-Mar, and when I have had to sit in the front to study, I'll keep a winter coat and gloves on, lol. The other major downfall is that the drive thru line is always ridiculous and blocks the entrance to the parking lot. And once you get into the parking lot the situation is not much better. Parking is limited and cars are exiting the drive thru as you're trying to come in and park. I call it the parking lot of death. The employees are mostly pretty friendly now, and I do have to say that the employees have definitely gotten better in the past 6-12 months. I think the main problem with all Cleveland Starbucks is just that there just aren't enough, so the few that you do have are overcrowded. Of all the Starbucks I've been to in West Cleveland, this is the best so far. *Guys, seriously, if you're in a hurry, you're better off ordering via mobile or going through the drive thru. When my husband and I come to study/read, we're here for several hours at a time, so I get to observe a lot. And I can't count how many times they forget to make someone's drink and the person stands there for 10-15 mins, which I think is ridiculous. Their biggest mistake is that they constantly put the drinks up for the wrong line. Constantly! So if a cup doesn't have a name on it, they send it to the drive thru line, while the person stands there watching other people come and go. Just today, I've witnessed this happen 4 times. Every time I come, I watch this happen over and over. I have no clue why they don't correct this problem since it occurs so frequently. read more

This Starbucks saved my life many times when I lived here and still gives me some much needed caffeine during visits home. First, let's start a slow clap for the person that decided to build this location with a drive thru window. Why isn't this standard for coffee shops in Ohio? I will wait 20 minutes in that drive thru line when it's cold and snowing if it means staying in my hot car. The drinks are always prepared to Starbuck standards and I love the breakfast sandwiches. Those sandwiches got me through busy work days where lunch wasn't until almost dinner time. They have plenty of seating for those that want to hang out as well. Back in my day, the closest Starbucks locations were in Westlake, North Olmsted or on the turnpike. I was very happy when they opened up this Starbucks (added bonus: with a drive thru!). Whenever I'm in town, I usually stop at this location at least a couple of times. Drive thru is usually long and inside lines are no better. The parking lot is kind of a cluster***, especially if you make it all the way to the end without finding a spot. Service is kind of iffy here and some baristas aren't sure how to make certain drinks. A Doppio Espresso Macchiato seems like a fairly standard Starbucks drink, but I've received cups full of milk, no foam, or questions as to how the drink is made. It's literally 2 shots of espresso with foam on top (AKA the direct translation of "macchiato"-- espresso with a dash of frothy steamed milk). Overall, I know I'm not a frequent customer here, but I definitely see a lack of consistency with my visits. read more

Starbucks will always get a 5 star review in my book. Not much else I have to say about that. Whether I order a caramel macchiato or a basic white girl pumpkin spice latte Starbucks has my favorite coffee. Even during my pregnancy I drank their decaffeinated espresso beverages. I love the fact that they offer all of their drinks decaffeinated or half-caff. I also have a love affair with their foods. My favorite is currently their turkey protein box which has small turkey sandwiches on pita and also comes with the carrot sticks and apple slices. We ordered 4 different drinks and had to repeat the order numerous times because the lady didn't seem to be paying attention. Then when we got to the window she wasn't friendly at all and seemed like we were an inconvenience to her. First of all, Jen was at the window, and she specifically was amazing. Conversational, smiley, super friendly. She was awesome. Aside from that, this location is WAY faster than the Westlake location, staff is way friendlier, and even when they have a line, they make the drinks fast, hot, and perfect, without making you feel rushed. Excellent customer service! I came in yesterday after making a mobile order in which they definitely forgot the espresso/caffeine by mistake. I noticed the color was especially light and definitely know when there isn't that espresso taste, but I was in a hurry and did not have time to go back to the store by the time I realized this was the case. I came in this morning and explained what happened the day before. I ordered my normal drink again, preparing to pay, when one of the ladies said they would go ahead and give me this mornings drink at no charge to make up for yesterday's drink! Tired of going to Starbucks and having such inconsistent lattes. Now it seems I'm more likely to get a bad latte than a good one. It certainly isn't just this Starbucks- but Starbucks all over the country. I get the regular grande latte and too often it tastes watery- as if the used skim milk. Also much sour than it used to be. I don't know if they aren't frothing the milk properly (or at all) any more or what. But too often I either drink it and wince with every sip or I throw it out. Rarely I ask for another and that usually is just as bad. Guess it is time to stop coming. Also- why do nearly all baristas put their fingers all over the drinking spout when putting the coffee on the counter? Gross! read more

Almost Every single time I go to this Starbucks, there is some kind of problem. Last time I ordered a peppermint mocha frappachino. They didn't put any peppermint in it. I can't tell you how many times I have ordered frappachinos and they give me a hot drink. They are out of cake pops all the time! Come on Starbucks, if you know that you sell out that often, then order more! Not to mention on 3 different occasions I ordered the slice of gingerbread but never got to try it, always out. He specialty drinks are a no go here. They're always out of those syrups used for those drinks or I'm often told sorry we don't make that drink. Why not?? Hi, My husband and I just moved to the area about a month ago and since then have visited Starbucks at 35825 Detroit Ave Avon, OH a few times. This has been my experience: 1st visit order: White Mocha Frappachino. I receive a White Mocha Creme Frappachino instead. After waiting 10 min in line I now have to park and go in with my toddler and have them remake it. 2nd visit order: White Mocha Latte. I receive a White Hot Chocolate (no espresso at all) After waiting 10 min in line I now have to park and go in with my toddler and have them remake it. 3rd visit order: Two Caramel Macchiatos. I receive 1 with no espresso and the 2nd with double the espresso. After waiting 15 min in line I now have to park and go in with my toddler and have them remake them. And finally, my last visit to this store today.... 4th visit order: Decaf White Mocha. I receive a Decaf Mocha. After waiting 10 min in line I now have to park and go in with my toddler and have them remake it. When I got my correct drink it tasted like a 20 pump white mocha instead of a 4-5 pump or however many they are supposed to put in there. I went back to my car 2 drinks in hand with my toddler. 1 tasting horrible and the other incorrect one. I dumped half the white mocha out and poured in have the mocha. Made myself a tuxedo and drove home to write this review. I understand the store is always busy and mistakes happen. The baristas are very sweet and helpful but PLEASE retrain your employees! I have never gone to a Starbucks this many times and consecutively received a wrong drink and it tasting bad! UNACCEPTABLE. I will never go to this Starbucks again.
