We came in at noon on a Monday and it was pretty packed. We called ahead but ultimately had to wait about 15-20 minutes to be seated. We passed the time by looking around the gallery (multiple floors), but service/wait time could definitely be improved upon. The two of us were seated outside in the shade which was fantastic. There are only a few tables outside and inside, not sure what big groups look like? Our server was great, as she verbally recited their fall menu - which I ended up getting their fall strawberry feta salad and soup combo! The salads are HUGE - safe to say I had a whole meal the next day! The sandwich and pasta side was enjoyed as well. The food here is spectacular. So I've lived in Avon for quite some time now and have always heard about this place... But never had the time to go and visit! But this Mother's Day weekend, I decided it would be the perfect time.... And I wasn't wrong! I made a reservation and was excited to finally try! (If you don't have a reservation and there is a wait... you can look at all the merchandise that is sold there!! It's beautiful!!) THESE WERE THE BEST WRAPS & SANDWICHES EVER! I truly don't understand the good reviews of this place. The shop itself is cute and cozy inside, but the service and food were both very disappointing and definitely not worth what we paid. My friend and I didn't make a reservation, and the hostess was quite rude. Like other reviewers have mentioned, she seemed annoyed that we were there. We were also told we couldn't be seated until our entire party arrived, which I still don't understand the logic for. I ordered the vegetable wrap, and it was extremely underwhelming. It was mostly just wrap filled with what tasted like a basic salad, heavy on vinegar, and included nuts inside the wrap. It also came with a huge side of cut melon. I gave up trying to eat it after a bit. Also worth noting: this place is not kid-friendly. If you're planning to visit and have kids, you'll want to plan accordingly. The Tree House is very cute inside, but small so be sure to make a reservation. Don't arrive early because we did and the staff seemed rather annoyed about it, literally less than 10 minutes early. The woman behind the desk was not very pleasant. The food was not bad, nothing that was amazing that would be a must have, but a nice lunch overall. There was no kids menu and anything we tried to switch or substitute we were told no, so that was a bit frustrating. Our server was nice enough though. We had to ask for a tea menu which was strange for a place that calls itself a tea house. Tree House is cute! Located in Avon in a refurbished older house, Tree House is a quaint stop if you're looking for a snug lunch experience. Reservations are informally required as the seating area is small. I ordered the turkey sandwich and lobster bisque combination. It came served with a side of gorgeous fresh fruit and 2 tea cookies. Sadly the 2 cookies were pretty hard so I couldn't enjoy them with my tea, but I imagine they are good fresh. The lobster bisque was nice on a chilly day! Next time, I wouldn't order the turkey sandwich again. It needed more flavor - a spread, dressing or sauce to jazz it up. Keep in mind that Tree House is not a tea room with tea service, they are more of a cafe that serves tea. I ordered a pot of the hibiscus tea and it was enjoyable on a cold day. We also ordered a slice of lemon meringue pie for dessert and it really hit the spot. I think if we return again, we'll stick with dessert! Went here today for lunch after making a reservation. First, the place was really warm and it was a cold day ~55 degrees. We had made a reservation and informed them we had a toddler over the phone. Thus, when we got there and were seated we were shocked to find out they don't have high chairs or a kids menu. We would have never come had we known that. The place is quaint, not really a tea house, but more of a cute cafe. My hubby ordered the chicken salad sandwich with pasta salad. It was a very nice sized portion. The chicken salad was delicious and had a good, fresh flavor. The pasta salad was cream based and was filled with peppers. Way, way too many peppers. I ordered the chicken dill wrap and the sauce was tasty. A lot of my chicken was dark meat and had blood which I was not happy about. The bulk was good however, so I just cut around it. Mine came with fruit (a slice of watermelon, two small slices of oranges, 2 bites of pineapple, and 2 bunches of grapes) and a small scone. Lunch is priced appropriately and was good. Not so sure you get what you pay for( $25+ individual lunch), hostess is NOT friendly, far from that, she acts as if she was superior!, it was as my presence while waiting for a table at the gift shop bothered her, she actually asked the waitress to move me and my friend outside! , I do t like their policy about not getting a table until the full party arrives, and I specially did not like to be seated near the garbage cans!. My chicken sandwich was by no means better than what I can get at Wendy's for a third of the price, and the lobster bisque was not authentic, not much lobster in it, just lots of cream, I had better. Service is not good also, you are seated by the trash cans and also forgotten, please save money and go elsewhere! Never coming back! read more

I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. This is one of those places where everything on the menu is great and the food is consistently great. The actual dining areas are very cute and quaint. One of my favorites is the lobster bisque. Oh, my. It is so good and there is plenty of lobster in that little cup. Another amazing dish is the salad with the chicken stuffed with brie on top. The portion is so generous and you think you won't eat it all, but just try to stop. You won't be able to because it is so yummy. The combination of sandwich and soup is always a good option too. The little lemon muffin that comes with it is so moist and has the perfect amount of lemon. My bridal shower was held here a few years ago and they didn't disappoint on food or service for that event. I would definitely recommend stopping in here for lunch. A two-fer of Rolls, Lobster Roll and Cinnamon roll. Today ended up an extra cheat day as I saw on instgram yesterday that @treehouseavonohio was serving Lobster Rolls. I popped in for a menu and a card and left with a HUGE french baguette filled with cold water lobster salad, fresh fruit. This was a two-handed monster of a sandwich. Maine-style, rich and creamy. I also left with the Tree House Lobster Bisque, made with cream, lobster meat, rosemary and spice. And it is "everything nice". My son devoured the cinnamon roll which was the size of a 45 RPM record. I spoke with the owner, Genevieve Carson, they have been in this location for 27 years and besides amazing food and catering, The Tree House features an eclectic blend of antiques, collectables, quality crafted woodworking and folk art. Food is delicious, however, their service is always horrible. Attempted to order catering in December and after initial call I heard nothing- no discussion of food options, what I wanted, etc. The day of my event they texted and asked when I wanted to pick up my order. I declined because I already found a new caterer. Then today, we ordered food to go for pickup and Susan, the woman over the phone, was rude and unpleasant. They have specials everyday and they are always delicious. It's recommended you make a reservation for lunch because there are few tables and everything is made fresh. They do take walk-ins but You may have to wait. They also do have a Togo option. They do catering for events and you can even rent the place for special occasions. The building is also an antique and gift shop. When you are stuffed and need to walk around you can see all the cool stuff they have. My mom and I did not have reservations but did not have to wait very long. My mom ordered the chicken tae tae special (not sure if that's spelled correctly). I ordered the stuffed chicken salad special (it was so good my mom stole some of the chicken off my plate). OMG.. i was visiting a referring doctors office and wanted to buy the staff lunch so they placed an order with the Tree House. I decided to eat there first myself and im so glad i did. I have had lunch here countless times of the last 20 years and am always more than satisfied. It is not a tea house in the true sense but rather a quaint farmhouse style setting with fresh salads, wraps, quiche, soups and a couple daily specials. Dessert is always a decadent masterpiece. Took my mom here today for lunch for her birthday. Enjoyed a cup of the sausage and pumpkin soup (yes...try this...it's amazing) and all of us had the seasonal fresh peach salad with a nice wedge of cornbread. We could not have been more satisfied! Went today for the first time. The food is absolutely delicious. However the details needed to be called a tea house were sorely lacking. The milk for my tea was two little moo cups. Like what you would get in a diner for coffee. The salt and pepper is a mound of packets thrown on the plate holding the sugar packets. Also the menu says scones and muffins. They had only one scone flavor available and it was chocolate which is not generally a scone flavor. They were able to find a banana muffin from the day before for me and again, it was an excellent muffin. I rated it a 3 only because I was expecting an actual ta house, not a restaurant that served tea. read more

My family and I have been regular diners at the Treehouse for almost 10 years. The food is delightful, atmosphere quaint, yet each time I leave swearing I'll never come back. The ownership and management is rude, crass, and condescending. The parking is tragic on a normal day, but one snowy day I parked in a spot that wasn't a "spot". I couldn't see and the lot wasn't plowed. The owner started screaming through the windows of the restaurant demanding the owner to move the car. Really-- he just wanted a place to park. When I requested for him to calm down and hold his temper, his screaming only got worse. In addition, the restaurant is small (although it adds to the charm) but difficult to navigate its small halls. My handicap grandmother is always the last to come in because she cannot just stand and wait to be seated. She needs to sit as much as possible. When we make reservations and all of us, but my grandmother, are standing there, they will not seat us because the last party member isn't in front of them. Even when we explain she's in the car and will come in as soon as we are seated. We always know our orders in advance and have many favorites that rotate in specials throughout the year. It really is sad the management and ownership is so selfish and ill-mannered. read more
