I was excited to earn a Starbucks Gold Card last year and have used it more than I ever could have anticipated. The refill on iced coffee was especially nice, while it lasted. Recently, I was told by a barista at this location (rather harshly I might add) that Starbucks policy is to only refill iced coffee up to one hour after the original purchase and only while you stay in the store. This one hour policy is not mentioned anywhere on the Starbucks website, but Gina (the heavy handed barista) told me like she had been given an edict from the corporate office. My response was to tell Gina that I would no longer be visiting that location and it is a shame that customer loyalty would be destroyed over 50 cents. I have visited over 20 different locations but this is the closest Starbucks to my house. I have never had a bad experience at any other location, but I plan on visiting only mom and pop coffee shops from now on. Today, I cancelled the auto reload of my Starbucks Gold Card and I don't plan on visiting any Starbucks ever again once my remaining balance is spent. I will also stop giving Starbucks gift cards to my friends and co-workers as tokens of appreciation. I don't feel Starbucks appreciates me as a customer, and I don't wish the unpleasant experience I had with Gina on anyone else I know. It is a shame that customer loyalty can be destroyed by a 50 cent corporate edict, or a power mad barista, whichever the case may be. read more

This particular Starbucks is usually pretty fast in the drive-thru. But speed cannot replace accuracy, and in comparing just three local Starbucks, it says something that my inner circle all feel the same about this one: "they always get the order wrong". Alas, I never feel comfortable complaining in the drive-through line because I think everyone is there for fast service......So here I am... While it is most certainly your typical Starbucks there was a lot of seating and they were extremely quick to fill my order. The wife and I came and actually hung out outside for a bit. It was quite relaxing and we found it very enjoyable. What made it awesome was when I spilled 3/4 of my drink all over the place and I went in to get a rag from Sarra and she said not to worry, she'd be out in a moment and got me a whole new drink. It's always great when a company works to fix the mistakes you've made. If Sarra's managers are reading this, GIVE HER A RAISE. :) While there is tons of seating both inside and out, there's a distinct lack of soft cushy places to curl up. There's also no short supply of cigarette smoke from random people looking to get their caffeine and nicotine fix at once. They tend to hide away from the main entrance to avoid detection and harassment from employees and customers alike. Yet the wind is always there to remind you of their presence. read more

Been here twice and have had good experiences, fast and friendly service! My first trip was around closing, we didnt know they had already closed, she still took are order and did it with a smile! They would not give us our reward drink. There was a glitch where the reward disappeared on the last day to use it. I was told that they don't really deal with the reward thing and that we need to call the company. Whatever....we went to the Starbucks in Target and they gladly helped us and said there have been problems with the gold card rewards. We add 50 bucks to our phone regularly for our card. Really, one free drink and you turn me away. This Starbucks does not understand customer service etiquette. It's sad that the employees don't understand or care to keep regular customers. The Starbucks managers in Target in the same center are awesome. Don't waste your time or money at this location. read more

We hit the drive through. Got a girl with a truly grating voice. She didn't really know menu, but another girl took over and we got our order just fine. I think maybe staff should have to audition or interview should be partially over the microphone. Some people just don't have a voice for radio. read more

I come to this location daily sometimes 2 or 3 times. Morning, afternoon, and evenings. I would come before school, on lunch, and sometimes after class to study. I like the environment and I feel comfortable here. Today I come to study, granite I already have a coffee that I had gotten a few hours earlier and came back, I went to get a refill after an hour of already being there and "the new girl" didn't get her name because I can careless now, would not give me a refill if her life depended on it. She also did not even know that if someone purchases a hot coffee, they can get a refill of cold brew if they wanted too. She argued with me saying that "they could not do that and it has to be the same type of coffee" maybe she should read more into their policies. Only getting three stars for the fact that they were fast. I ordered a grande vanilla chai latte, she responded vanilla latte, i repeated and stressed chai and she continued to say vanilla latte. So me being understanding i thought maybe she got it, but no. I return home to find out the order was in fact wrong even though i said chai 2 or more times. I also work for a Starbucks and I know for a fact it isn't hard to make these drinks. They messed up three times on one drink and on the rest, and the worker kept on getting annoyed. I've mobile ordered almost weekly and have picked up my drinks inside without a mask no problem well not today! I go inside and the worker immediately rudely tells me i need a mask, my sister had dropped me off in the front to grab our drinks since there were no parking spots, there was one lady in front of me I kept my distance and let the worker know my sister was driving around the parking lot so me running out to grab a mask when my drinks were literally on the counter waiting just made zero sense to me, the lady in front leave i walk up and tell her pick up for Traci and she REFUSED to give me my drinks!! She told me to wait in the drive thru line or get a mask, i'm already standing not even two feet from my drinks already paid for just hand me my drinks and maybe have a better attitude and say next time make sure you have a mask on. The best baristas around. They do their best, despite some rather... interesting customers (not excluding me, I'm sure.) The consistency is impressive - both in the store and in the drive through. I've never waited more than a few minutes while in the drive through (can't say the same about another Starbucks somewhat nearby). Can't say enough about this group of hardworking baristas. The baristas are friendly and cheerful, and this is a nice place to relax or visit with friends. The location is convenient to many places in Apple Valley. My only complaint is that occasionally their sandwiches aren't heated completely. I like coming here. read more

Very good unsweetened green tea Coffee is horrible (cheap and bitter All beans that are used are burned) Most drinks have too much sugar and its way to expensive Over priced cheap coffee and everyone thinks they are getting something worth while !! I drove thru and ordered a hot chocolate with brulee chips. The young lady was very nice. I drove off with my drink before tasting it. I got a coffee mocha brulee. An honest mistake. I'm not fond of coffee. So I drove back. If your headed east bound on 18 it a bit of a drive before you can turn around. This time I parked and walked in. A different lady helped me. She dyed blond and was snotty. Would not give me the brulee chips. "Ok fine, please change it to hot chocolate." I get to the car and there is no whip cream. I go back in. She says she put whip cream on it it must have melted. Seriously? From the counter to my car? I take off the lid and it is very full. I say, "Ok, I would like more please." She grabs the whip cream bottle spritzes half a squirt of whip cream into to cup. The force of the whip cream forces hot chocolate down the side of the cup, over my hand and onto the counter. For this I could have gone home made my own for a fraction of the cost and retained my peace. Not to mention saved time. Very disappointing experience. read more

So I went in to order and the person that helped me was nice. I decided to order something else so I walked back up to the counter and was ignored by 4 employees and 1 manager. I even had one employee walk up to the same register that I was standing at and not a single word. The original employee saw me and finished my order. Got the drinks and they were all dirty. I am extremely disappointed. I ordered a Venti Caramel frap no whipped cream and a add shot their prices higher than other Starbucks appear in the desert I've never paid 6.05 for a drink like this at any other Starbucks in the high desert. When I got to the window my drink had whipped cream on it when I ask them to remake it all they did was scooped the cream off with the lid. whip cream was still on my Frappuccino their hands were all over my lid and then they put the lid back on. This Starbucks is clean and well organized. The employees are well trained. The managers go out of their way to make sure we are always taken care of. One of the managers helped to make my nieces birthday perfect this year. She loves starbucks hot chocolate so much and the manager provided us with mini cups to put pudding in as an appetizer. Every time I come here I have to return the drink for them to fix it. One time I asked for an iced coffee with toffee nut and cream and they forgot the toffee nut, again with the same order but they forgot the cream. Drive thru was pretty fast and the girl was nice but inside staff seemed a little quiet and upset that I sent back the drink. Today, I ordered the usual but the coffee was extremely strong. What's not to love about Starbucks? There is no need for me to explain the reasons why Starbucks itself owns so many of our hearts, so let's break this down by reviewing this particular location. Apple Valley Starbucks at Dale Evans Rd is one of my favorite locations to enjoy a cup of coffee when I actually have time to sit and enjoy it! The location is clean and the baristas are friendly and do a great job. The traffic here is a bit less than other locations meaning I can usually find a close parking spot and cozy seat. I admit, I'm starting to think twice about posting this because I don't want thing to change here, but that's what yelp is about..right?
