This Starbucks is nearby where I work in Berkeley. I come here after I get off work and spend a few minutes inside relaxing. The downfall of Starbucks is that you have to ask the Barista the code to use the restroom. I am not complaining about getting a code to use the restroom but I love how the store want to keep their tiolet from getting damage by random people. The Chocolate Chip Cookie is delicious. I love it warm when I order a cookie. The Honey Citrus Mint Tea is hot to perfection and taste the way it suppose to be. Parking can be hard to find since it is in the small shopping area where Sprout's is at. I been able to find parking. The apartment building that was built is lucky to have a Starbucks not far. I always have such a great experience at this Starbucks. The team here is consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind it never feels rushed or transactional. One small thing I really appreciate is that they take the time to ask how to spell your name. It might seem minor, but it shows how much they care about getting the details right and making people feel seen. Even when it's busy, that level of thoughtfulness doesn't get lost. The drinks are always made well, the atmosphere is positive, and the staff clearly takes pride in what they do. This location sets the bar for what great customer service should look like. A standard Starbucks experience. I was greeted when I entered and the cashier/barista rung me up quickly and accurately. I ordered a chocolate white mocha and it tasted great, just right amount of chocolateyness, sweetness and coffee. It was just what I needed during this cold day. As for the space, it's a medium sized coffee shop with a good amount of tables and seating. You do need a code to use the bathroom though, which I don't mind since coffee shop bathrooms tend to get abused lol. The space is clean and organized and staff are friendly and nice. I didn't use their wifi, but their were plenty of people on their computers so I assume it's good for working. I will be back to this Starbucks to chill and try more of their drinks. read more

Probably the only time I've been disappointed with my Starbucks order. I asked for extra ice on a Venti order, but the barista gave me so much ice that I was literally done with my drink before I even got on the freeway. I probably should've known. I watched her make the drink and a HUGE block of ice immediately fell into the cub before any of the matcha made it in. She paused for a moment as if she was contemplating if she should continue or start over but she proceeded to just leave the block of ice in the cup. The blender was still fairly full of my drink but I figured maybe she was making 2 of the same drink and the rest was for someone else. If I wasn't getting on to the freeway, I would have turned around. Highly disappointed in my cup of ice with a "splash" of matcha. Complete waste of money. read more

A couple things you should know about this Starbucks. One, don't mobile order via Doordash or UberEats from here. They get so insanely busy sometimes with college housing and the ball field next door that usually there's a major delay in you getting your order. It's best to just mobile order from Solano. That being said, this location has really great servers who greet you by name if you're a regular and their service is incredibly friendly and kind. It's really simple to order ahead via the app, so I recommend that if you're local and tend to walk here for your morning cuppa. All in all, I'll miss this Starbucks, but definitely not miss the terribly slow light on San Pablo. read more

This is the fourth time employees have been SO rude when I ask for a straw. They ignore when I'm clearly patiently waiting for them to look at me since I don't want to interrupt them. Then, after waiting a couple minutes of them clearly purposefully ignoring me... when I ask for a straw very politely they straight up give attitude or START making a drink after I ask (not finishing one they're working on). I get it Berkeley, but they are paper straws and I paid $8 for a single drink id like to enjoy it with a straw. Keep your attitude to yourself. [COVID Review] Since I can't go anywhere during the Apocalypse I pretty much just drive around looking for Starbucks. Today I stopped at this one before hopping over to Sprouts. I used the app (love the app!) to place my order and discovered the Iced Golden Ginger drink. I'm obsessed with ginger and turmeric so had to try it. It's delicious. They need to come up with something bigger than venti because it goes down easy. Pick up was safe, quick and easy. The staff was friendly and hard at work. This is a pretty good Starbucks to go to because of the parking lot outside. Drinks are good and service is quick. There is free parking and it's right across from Sprouts. They also just changed their seating to have more tables which is good for studying. I've gone to this Starbucks a couple times. It's in a convenient location in Berkeley/Albany very close to Solano Ave. It's in a parking lot with a Petfood express and a Sprouts, there's a parking lot with some street parking if the lot is full. The space is pretty large with a good amount of seating, and their staff has been pretty quick although I've only ordered black coffee. The place is very clean. And they have a good number of individual all gender restroom rooms with a communal sink space, if you're not in favor of the idea of all gender/gender neutral restrooms you probably will not like this, and if that's the case you probably shouldn't go there. read more

I love this new location! There's sufficient parking and the seating area is always clean. I'm also a fan of their all gender restroom stalls-- a sign of the progress we've come to know and love in Berkeley. The customer service has been great every time I visited. As a student, internet access and power outlets are key! I must say that this place had it all. The internet was stable and there were plenty of outlets underneath the table. More perks if you're a gold member too! It includes free unlimited coffee/tea refills (normally $0.50 each refill). This perk is amazing if you plan to stick around for a couple hours. And just this month (December 2017) the Starbucks for Life game is back, so purchases get you stamps to collect for prizes! Good luck to all who play! Yaaay new Starbucks in town! I was really anticipating the opening of this location, and it finally opened this week. So I decided to go and do some work. It appeared that the stuff are still getting trained so the service was slow. I got an iced coffee, and it took them like 10 minutes. I'm not mad tho, they just opened so as long as the drinks taste good I'm a happy gal. The place is quite spacious, with plenty of chairs/tables and there's a big communal table in the middle. Even though I am not a coffee drinker I often stop in to a Starbucks by myself or with a friend for a hot chocolate. I found that 95% of the Starbucks are run by frazzled staff and a slew of rude customers who are also caffeine deprived and treat the staff and other customers with great disdain. So....when my friend JT and I stopped by the new Starbucks in Albany my heart was beating fast in anticipation of the unknown. There is plenty of room to sit--tables and chairs, comfy seats all with access to outlet for refueling laptops. When we walked in this one woman who had all her belongings spread out over a four person table glared at us snd her stink eyes clearly stated that she owned that table...grrrrr. The place was half full with most customers calm and focused on their coffee and laptops. We ordered our drinks with a chocolate croissant and 2 cups of ice water. Our server, Josh, was friendly and welcoming. I totally appreciate this. Our order was completed quickly and our iced water came in cups with lids (yay!). JT and I had a nice and leisurely time talking and enjoying our drinks. I noticed how calmly Josh was handling all the customers as the business was picking up. Most people. were sort of Zombie like with expressionless faces. Even though some orders seemed a little picky and complicated Josh handled it all. Josh had some co-workers who also seemed friendly and were busy with other housekeeping---taking care of the trash, etc. I liked the cordial teamwork. When I go into Starbucks in Albany, CA, if "Kim-Kim" is on duty, she greets me by my name and always has a warm and welcoming smile, not just for me but for EVERYONE who walks through the doors. Please be advised that the large orders placed by phone put the 'walk in" at great risk for waiting a long time for a simple order. I came in on a recent Sunday morning and the manager shooed me over to the other register so she could take care of a "big" order. I only got my order in from another person after I spoke up, three minutes later. When I complained about this to the manager, her curt answer was "Oh, sorry." as she ran out to her car. I guess no one has time anymore. What happened to the comp. gift card to guests with unhappy experiences?? Maybe they need another afternoon meeting across the country for that, too. The people there work hard, but the "call ahead and large orders" is what they're looking for, not the Little Guy. The Solano store is much better!!!
