special lattes galore, several cold foams available and a few flavors of açai
    Ted R.

Qargo Coffee is delicious, in part because they use Lavazza coffee. I went to the kiosk and ordered a Pistachio Iced Latte. It was pretty light on pistachio flavor, so that could actually be improved. But it wasn't too sweet either, and that's more important for me given all the sugar bomb lattes you find at corporate cafes. At $7.39 + tax for a medium (16 oz.) it was not cheap. $8.15 total. When I went, they were offering special lattes galore. Everything from tiramisu to honey lavender, biscoff, and banana caramel. They had several cold foams available and a few flavors of açai. I will say the kiosk for ordering was easy to use. I still prefer talking to a cashier so I can ask questions or see if they have a suggestion. The drink came out quickly enough and they shouted out my drink when it was ready. I guess I'd rank the service as good enough/not bad. The decor is modern and somewhat artificial, not exactly a comfy cafe to my taste. But it's roomy and neutral enough for the many students here. The wifi didn't work right away on my phone. But I had a to-go order, so didn't try too hard. I haven't tried the food yet. If you can't find street parking, the Telegraph-Channing lot is relatively inexpensive at $3/hour. Enter from Channing Way or Durant Ave.

There was an odd burnt taste to the &4.55 Cafe au Lait I bought here (Photo 7). I've usually had good experiences with Lavazza, the Italian brand of beans they use here, so I was disappointed that even the steamed milk couldn't counterbalance the flavor. Otherwise this was a typical off-campus study spot for undergrads who obviously haven't developed discriminating palates. There was no seat to be had for this aged alumnus. Go Bears? COFFEE - 2 stars...strange burnt taste AMBIANCE - 2 stars...more a study hall for undergrads SERVICE - 1.5 stars...barista training needed TOTAL - 2 stars...probably not for me RELATED - Exploring Berkeley? I needed a place to hang out and get work done for a few hours while near UC Berkeley. Qargo seemed spacious and bright from the Yelp reviews so I headed there. They have a large touch screen to order or you can order at the counter. I ordered the mango smoothie and found a spot at a counter top. There was power to plug in if needed. The smoothie was thick and flavorful.

My son and I are from Oakdale California. We stopped to get a coffee. Marie was so sweet and kind and had a beautiful smile on her face. Our drink were great we enjoyed till the last drop. Thank you

Stopped in for a chai tea latte and a quick little dinner while doing errands nearby. The dining area is cafe chic with neutral colored walls, posters, and modern lighting that also creates a welcoming, cozy cafe feel. The menu is large enough to come back again to try something new, offering both sweet and savory options. The staff member who helped me was friendly and helpful in my decision on which food choice to choose. The spinach, kale, cheese filled croissant was very filling and tasty. It was large enough to tide me over for a longer drive ahead. The chai tea latte was a good balance of sweet and spicy. This cafe is a good spot to stop by when in the neighborhood and wanting a treat and hot beverage.

    Latte, mocha, and a tiramisu

Brief Summary: - Kiosk payment style has an interesting UX - Lots of seating places inside - Felt like the additional options I requested in the kiosk were ignored - Coffee is not sour We visited here on a chilly spring after eating lunch near the university. I was pretty surprised on the interior because it was larger once inside. The wall stretches out with bar tables and chairs, and there were multiple tables of 3-4 people can sit in the other spaces of the cafe. It was a busier time of day because there were students sitting in and studying while having a cup of coffee. We ordered via the kiosk and the style was unique. All of the drinks start off as $0.00. Then as you customize the order the cup's size determines the base price. I ordered two drinks, a latte and a mocha and a tiramisu. The latte I kept things simple, but for the mocha we decided to include additional creams with a special lavender flavor. The staff notified me that the drinks are coming after handing me the tiramisu. The cake itself was soft, but not heavily drenched with coffee that I had hoped. The lady finger cookie was still dry on some parts. The drinks arrived at the same time, so I went to pick it up. Upon a quick glance I could not tell which one was which, so I asked that staff which one was the mocha. Suddenly, there was a flash of looks between the three as they reviewed the receipt. It seems that they have made 2 lattes. The drink was not remade, rather they squeezed in the chocolate syrup and mixed it in. I forgot to ask about the special cream, assuming already that the drink did not contain this either. After taking the drink and tried it, the relative told me they did not taste the lavender. Not complaining too much, but I have added this into the drink, so it is an additional cost. I was on a fence on still putting this on 4 stars because the latte was great. It wasn't sour and at perfect temperature. I came here for coffee and the cafe delivered what I wanted. There were plenty of seats so we were able to sit down, relax our feet, and enjoy a sip. However, if it is the case that I can only enjoy a latte and the other drink and cake options are not up to standards, then it felt appropriate for me to keep it at 3 stars.

Having gone to this place twice already, this store has me already questioning the existence of why it was even there to begin with in the first place. It's really hard to find parking, and even if you're lucky, this trip may not even be worth taking public transit or driving to at all. The interior of the shop looks modern, chic, and well organized. However, one can only imagine the environment and its tables -- when I arrived and took a seat, some of the seats were dirty, and some of the tables were not even sanitized. The atmosphere of the shop seemed dead, because despite people studying, the music was too loud, and I could barely hear myself speaking, even while ordering my drinks. I ordered a Passion Me cold brew, and to be honest with you, I tossed that as soon as I walked out the door. They have the weirdest drink options, and honestly passionfruit with cold brew does not sound fitting. The drink had too much passionfruit purée, and there was too less cold brew to even begin with. In addition, their drinks are insanely expensive, which one can expect because it's right next to the UC Berkeley campus. After this experience, I don't think I will be coming back to this establishment again. Their service is really poor, and the person that runs the cashier and register and coffee machine just sits there waiting for our guests to come by.

We ordered a chai latte and a peppermint tea early morning. The vibes upon walking in around 8:40 am on a Monday were eerie. There was a broken window inside. Service wasn't anything special guy had his wired earphones in and didn't really acknowledge us but wasn't overtly rude just seemed like he was sleepy. The chai was really watered down and so was my tea usually there's 2 tea bags but it was just one so my tea was really watered down as well. Wasn't horrible, it's cute inside with some electrical cords for studying but mostly high top chairs which is uncomfortable for studying personally but just came for a quick tea

Location and decoration make me give it 2 stars instead of one. I ordered a berry smoothie that looked nothing like the picture (it was purple instead of blue, they didn't put whipped creme on top, and not jam/syrup on bottom). When they called my name I mentioned it to them and they told me that they were out of whipped creme. I told them then why did you ask my daughter if she wanted whipped creme on her drink (she had declined). He just they ran out after I ordered. I told him, even without the whipped creme it looks nothing like it. He said that's how they make it. He ended up remaking it for me, which he added way to much syrup so it wasn't good at all as the overly sugary syrup and too much amount of it made it unpleasant. My daughter says her dei k wasn't that good either

It was a pleasure coming here, the tiramisu latte was great and the costumer service was great and they were so kind. I would recommend anyone to come here!

Appreciate the customer service people working there are very friendly and niceCame in for a matcha, they recommended me a banana matcha was 10/10 and had a Spinach cheese croissant as well and man was that so good. Definitely coming back for another visit.

I can tell this cafe is about to be the new it place on Telegraph! The interior is aesthetic, and they have a huge menu with Italian specials. They're not technically open yet, but they're holding a promotional event, so I highly recommend checking it out. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk, and the espresso was incredibly smooth. Service is Starbucks-style.

I finally decided to go inside and think I went a little crazy with ordering.. As you get inside, there are 2 kiosks that you can order on and the ordering process is pretty simple. I got all my food to-go and the wait was about 10 mins or less, so pretty quick! The service was awesome as well! The guy saw me struggling trying to carry all the food, drinks, and my IPad (I got stuff from the gas station prior) and he offered to help and put my drinks in this holder. I ordered the Tiger brown sugar milk tea w/ boba pearls, Hot Cheetos Half N Half corn dog (comes with choice of dipping, I got mustard), 8 piece fried dumplings (comes with soy sauce), fruity pebbles mochi donut, and the strawberry and banana nutella croffle. The milk tea was super good, could never go wrong with a brown sugar milk tea! The hot Cheetos corn dog was crispy and super good as well, however I wish I had eaten it when it was still hot to get that cheese pull... the fried dumplings were crispy and delicious. The fruity pebbles mochi donut was really soft and chewy (in a good way) and had the flavor of a glazed donut. Also the cereal tasted fresh! The strawberry/ banana Nutella croffle was so delicious and tasted like a strawberry/ banana waffle. I think this one had to be my fave. Overall, I paid a little under $40 with tip for all the food and I would definitely go again!

Their sandwiches are probably what first got me hooked. The bread is so good, with a chewy inside and a nice crust, and the fillings are always fresh and flavorful. The combinations are also really well thought out. From there, I started working my way through the rest of the menu. I've had their Kouign Amann, Quiche Lorraine, croissants, baguette, Sourdough Batard, Sunflower Rye Spelt, pretzel buns (you can probably tell I'm a bread person), pies, seasonal radicchio salad, and passionfruit madeleines. Their seasonal radicchio salad has actually become one of my favorites to take to work for lunch. I also love that they rotate the Kouign Amann flavors, so there's usually something new to try whenever I stop by. I've enjoyed almost everything I've had here. One pie was a little too sweet for me personally, but that's really the only thing that comes to mind. I also really like the presentation and the atmosphere. The pastry case always looks beautiful and tempting, and the space feels relaxed and welcoming. It's easy to pop in and grab something, but it's also a nice place to meet friends for coffee and something sweet. The prices feel very reasonable for the quality, which is another reason I keep coming back. More than anything, I just really enjoy having Starter Bakery in the area. It's become one of my neighborhood go-to spots, and I always seem to find another reason to stop by.

The ambiance is wonderful - I absolutely love the deep blue color scheme, the cute matching mugs, and gorgeous plants. They have a lot of different pastry choices, but unfortunately, there was only one vegan option: a tiny hazelnut sweet bread. I ordered the bread along with an Americano. When I tried to take the pastry out of the package to share it with my girlfriend, it completely crumbled into a big mess. I went up to the counter to let them know, and the employee told me it was actually meant to be eaten straight from the package. She mentioned it was on the drier side being vegan, she took the crumbled mess and gave me a new one but it ended up having the exact same issue. It wasnt dry, but it just wouldn't hold any moisture and was far too crumbly to eat. For $5, this tiny pastry was a major letdown. To make the interaction weirder, she took the original crumbled bread back from me and I'm only assuming threw it away, which felt entirely unnecessary. Having been vegan for nine years, I've had some truly amazing, moist vegan baked goods, so this was incredibly disappointing. While the vibe and aesthetic are great, the vegan options were major letdown. CC accepted Restroom available
