Just had a service call answered the same day by Brandon at Star-Tex and was more than impressed with the speed and professional attitude and performance he exhibited. Star-Tex performed the repair and topped off the tank after the repair was performed. Kudos to all involved. In closing, I would recommend going with Star-Tex for your propane needs. They are great!! If you're worried about gas levels, get a tank monitor (with phone app) installed to take the guesswork out of the equation. They'll be out at 30% level to top off the tank. One of the worst service company's in the area. Completely failed to show up for appointments twice. Ultimately we ran out of gas because of their failure to show up. I would not recommend them at all. How to improve? Honor your promises! read more

They charge by the cylinder not pound. Most charge by the pound. Tractor supply is where we was going, thought we would go to this place who charged us seniors 40.00 for 4 lbs. The sign shows 2.99 a pound, and one cylinder was almost full and the guy should have told us that it goes by the cylinder size not pound. He knew. But said nothing because as I bet you they told him not too. At least let people know in advance. He asked if we just purchased an RV, and said yes. So, I guess newbies get ripped off. Lesson learned. Won't happen again. Tractor supply 2.19 a pound. read more

To whom it may concern, Today my wife and I got our,  propane tank delivered and installed on our property. I wanted to forward my thoughts on our experience being I was a manager of 97 employees in my past and run my own custom furniture business for the last 10 years. Point being, I know what good customer service is as well as poor. My experience has proven most employees only hear the negative when reviewed. Theodore and David were our techs today for our installation. I've never been so impressed by two guys in that capacity. Very knowledgeable, never cocky or arrogant, hard working and just all around great employees. Not only am I impressed by them, I'm equally impressed with StarTex as a company. We called Nelson I think it is in Mexia and the price for leasing a tank changed 3 times in 4 weeks. Basically rude and not courteous to people wanting to pay them for propane. Even the delivery man Mark, whom we met first on a referral from Ike Neal, was so nice and helpful. M Basically my wife and I are very impressed with StarTex and will be telling anyone who asks what our experience has been like. These people are crooks DO NOT USE THEM. The tank at my house was bought by the previous owner so we called to fill the tank the man that came out said this tank isnt on my inventory but he filled it. Then I get a bill for yearly rental I called the lady at star Tex she was rude and called me a liar so I didnt pay the rental and they came and took the whole tank and propane from my property while we were gone so I will be contacting my lawyer they stole my gas I paid for and a tank that doesn't belong to them! read more

I have had Star Tex Propane come out several times. They always come within a day or two of my call. Today they came out to deliver some propane. Down our driveway we have rose bushes, purple jade and elephant ears. Without even trying to not damage these plants and flowers their delivery driver pulled the hose down the driveway and around to the tank. Because of this I have a damaged rose bush, several broken elephant ears and crushed purple jade. I know he is busy and has a tight schedule but it would be nice to at least try not to damage anything. Really disappointed that I now have to find another propane supplier. I did mention this to the driver and called the office. The driver was apologetic. read more

So, my mother has them come and do a repair and fill her tank because she is out. They fixed the original issue and filled her tank no problem. 2 months later for some reason an amount that lasts her 1 year is gone in 2 months. So we call them to come take a look at it because they are the last ones to service it. So lets break down what they charged me to fix their problem: 1. $50 charge to come out and look at it and see if there is a leak (kinda already know that) 2. propane that would be another few hundred dollars 3. oh and of course there is the $50 charge for delivery on Sat (because why wouldn't there be) If I were you, I would find another company to provide your propane needs or even better move to an area they do not service, so there is not even an accidental chance you have to come across them. *P.S. For the companies eyes only, all other readers can disregard: Please do the following: 1. Stop screwing your customers 2. Run your business like, well an actual business, if you don't know how just copy someone else. 3. If you can't do the previous items ...then just go out of business. 4. We used this company mostly because they were the closest location to our house. We thought we were getting good prices until we realized they charge by the BOTTLE (no matter how full or empty it is). They are deceptive in how they charge you! BEWARE!!! The sales slip has a category entitled "gallons" so you would think they put the correct number on it. NO!!! They put the price for the size of BOTTLE on the sales slip, NOT how many gallons you are receiving! When we confronted them on this, they were very angry and suggested we go somewhere else. Well, that's exactly what we did, AND WE ARE SAVING LOTS OF MONEY!!! Another place not too far away that Supplies Tractor equipment is a better business and charges by the GALLON so you are paying only for what you're needing, whether just a gallon or two, or a full bottle. Wish we had learned this lesson sooner, could have saved even more $$$$$! read more

Called these folks up about changing an ignitor switch for my pilot light on my hot water heater. Was told I would have to go elsewhere despite being stood up 3 times by 2 different companies. They said they DO NOT work on other companies equipment! Well, Im a home OWNER. All of the equipment here BELONGS TO ME!! I DO NOT have a service contract with ANY company!! I have one that I call to come fill my tank when I need it, but we have no contract!! I have been without hot water for 2 months and these folks refused to even come take a look!! I tried to explain MULTIPLE times that I do not have a contract with any company and even asked WHY he wouldn't help me! So not only have you lost a potential customer, but I will tell everyone I know NOT to seek out your service!! read more
