I even told them that and it was a continued push from the dentists to the checkout person all pushing that I need to get the deep cleaning done. Wolf Ranch excels at installing crowns in the same day that you need one. They make them in house and love that you don't have to get a temporary crown and come back later to get the permanent one put in. Find a practice that will listen to you and realize that pushing a procedure to just make money is not necessarily in the best interest of the patient.

I have never been to a dental office where the technical staff greeting you doesn't know what procedure you're actually getting and starts communicating something else completely, and this has been multiple times. You constantly need to be your own advocate each visit to make sure they do not take advantage of you. One example is that I was misled in pricing for a procedure after talking to multiple staff and providing insurance information and signing off on it. On the day of the actual procedure another staff member then told me it's 1,000 cheaper than what was expecting. Apparently no one bothered to apply insurance benefits until the morning of. I give them the benefit of the doubt but I honestly feel cannot recommend this place. They are also constantly booked so follow up appointments will always be pushed back due to scheduling. They are blessed to be in the location that they are but they unfortunately do not respectfully serve the community and give customers the care and treatment they deserve. Also bed side manner is simply not there, generally patients asking a question or clarification is a huge inconvenience for the dentist.

I had been a patient for over 10 years, and spent more than that in thousands at this practice with many experiences. The staff that is present at any point is inconsistent. Doctor has sent home a temp who was hired and who couldn't not get a decent x ray after 20 attempts at radiating my face. She noted she was a temp when I said "hey, what's with the repeated radiation, why is this going on and on??" I spend over 1000 dollars on a zirconia bridge to watch the hygienist drop it on the floor and have it fracture in my face 5 months later. I had it redone with lesser grade material for the same "replacement cost". I have bruxism - stress over time is a thing. Hiring staff, albeit temporarily, who have identifiable dependency struggles is a liability. In the same vein, a dentist was hired for a short term, fractured an adjoining tooth as she pried the temporary off the next. The last teeth cleaning i had was so excruciating (the flossing cut deeply into my gums) I decided to eat the other half of the yearly double cleaning charge and not go back at all. Office staff came back to have me sign compulsory paperwork for the ongoing - very expensive - restoration while I was in the chair, numb, mouth open and vulnerable. 500 to 700 hundred. I am a person with chronic illness and a lot of pain and trauma, which is why I seek skilled practitioners. I am also very transparent with my needs and coping strategies. I communicate my conditions and how that impacts dental care. I had the experience of having my medical history/care be discussed with office staff which were not included in my treatment team - which was very exposing and not based on role based policies and privacy safeguards. I am very familiar with the medical use of nitrous oxide as I have utilized it for extensive facial and dental restoration. l requested this service (as I had received before) and the gas was not flowing. I was told to (wait 5 min or so) which is not how gas works. Like helium, nitrous takes immediate effect and impacts vocal tone, which makes it very easy to identify if it has been inhaled. The machinery was clearly malfunctioning, or the tanks were empty. My personal safety limits required that I ask the staff to reschedule. Stafff refused the idea that the equipment could be malfunctioning. The team noted the next patient was to have nitrous and they would call me to reschedule if the equipment "worked for her". Dr Wang noted on the way out with me that she hoped there was nothing wrong with the equipment as there is a very expensive specialized maintenance and repair - leading me to wonder about the system maintenance overall. I waited a week or so to call back and was told the equipment worked fine for the other patient. As the years have passed, this practice has lost its attentiveness and patient centered approach. Provision is rushed, spotty and uninformed. I do not recommend this practice any longer, most certainly not for trauma related care or affecting chronic health conditions. I found the staff far too inconsistent and far too unprofessional to continue care here.

Just my interaction with the hygienist assigned to me on my first visit was enough for me to know this was not the practice for me When I explained about my previous painful experiences and my apprehension about even having my teeth cleaned, her response was, "Well, this IS a dental practice. EVERYthing is going to be uncomfortable." I decided not to proceed with the appointment and left. I went back to the research I had done. RR Dentistry had lots of very good reviews and their web site emphasized "patient comfort" so that was where I chose to make an appointment. It was the right decision. I could not be happier with my choice. Every member of their staff from the New Patient Coordinator (Susie) to the dentist (Dr. Cory Roach) to his assistant (Lisa) was both friendly and competent . My dental records at Dr. Williams's office date back to 1988 when I was five years old! That's why…read moreI keep making the trek from central Austin to come here for cleanings and what ails me. So far Dr. Williams has successfully extracted four of my teeth. Yesterday, it was a tricky old Wisdom tooth who was trying to push my lower Left molars forward, and giving me all sorts of grief. Usually in a situation like the one I had yesterday, I would go under for such a tricky little surgery, and that, my friend, would have been pricey. Instead, I probably saved hundreds of dollars having the tooth extracted while I was awake. The best news is it wasn't so bad,because Scott Williams and his staff know what the heck they are doing. Aside from a little extra drilling and cracking noises that I could hear on my end, the extraction wasn't so different from the rest. I was prescribed Valium to take the night before and morning of the surgery to calm my nerves. When I arrived at the office I was quickly seated in the back room for shots. Dr. Williams, as usual, set me up with music and plentiful laughing gas while he gave me those terrible shots. That you have to have before surgery. If you have to have shots, gas makes it a lot easier. I wouldn't say the surgery was fun, but I certainly didn't feel like a huge wisdom tooth was being scooped out from under a molar and extracted from my head! I wouldn't say I feel like running a marathon right now, but things could be worse than having a sore mouth and a puffy cheek. He made sure to send me home with a prescription for some heavy pain killers so that I can enjoy myself while lying around the house watching movies this weekend as much as possible. If you're looking for a no-nonsense dentist with 32 years of experience, I recommend Scott Williams. He'll take care of you, and he won't push you in to unnecessary cosmetic dental work!

After it was over and he handed me the mirror I couldn't believe my eyes. My tooth looked PERFECT!! Later he even cosmetically corrected my other front teeth by smoothing the rough edges.
