We had a terrible experience during this most recent visit. We brought in our very young son and daughter for a check up. The front office staff was still helpful and friendly enough. The dentist, however, seemed rushed, did not explain the steps she was taking as she went, was rough with brushing our son's teeth in particular, and used a broken mirror for the exam! I wish that I had been a better advocate for my babies and spoken up right away, but I was honestly in shock (as dramatic as that sounds). As a concerned parent, I would not recommend this location. I can not speak to any other locations within this practice.

He didn't have cavities or require services beyond the basics. Dr. Bash wasn't flat out rude, but he seriously lacked bedside manner. Which is major as his patients are children. He appeared to be "heavy handed" when doing a physical task. I chose to ignore him because his staff did all of my son's cleanings, with Dr. Bash only coming in afterwards for review, apply Fluoride and conduct parent consultations. On the morning of Monday, August 1st I took my son into the office as I had concerns about his front bottom baby tooth which was literally dangling as the primary tooth came in behind it. Because my son was uncomfortable with pulling it himself, I requested that it be extracted. Dr. Bash's staff explained a local anesthetic would need to be applied (via needle) as well as a numbing gel along with oxygen. Dr. Bash further explained he would extract the second baby tooth as it too would eventually dangle. I was extremely nervous and confused as to why the second tooth which was in-tact needed to be removed in advance of it naturally coming out. I was further nervous as I was told I couldn't be in the procedure. I scheduled the procedure for later that afternoon and was told after insurance, the patient pay would be $142.00.I spoke with husband who was extremely concerned (major understatement!). He called Dr. Bash's office and insisted that I be allowed in the procedure room. Afterwards he researched the reviews and found they echoed our concerns. At that point we decided to cancel the appointment and find a different dentist. Today, Wednesday, August 3rd we went to the new dentist who ONLY used a numbing. He and his staff had great bedside manner which was comforting to both me and my son. Additionally, the office's policy is for parents to accompany children in the procedure room! As soon as the dentist was certain the numbing gel was activated, he distracted my son by talking and within 1 minute pulled the tooth by hand without tools (again it was literally dangling). He stated the other tooth (which Dr. Bash stated needed to be extracted) would naturally come out. My son left the appointment pain-free, smiling and proud as the staff told him how he "helped" by being brave - smile. Total patient pay following insurance was $54.00. We will miss Dr. Bash's kind, professional staff, however we don't trust Dr. Bash with our son's dental (and overarching) health. If your child needs basic (i.e., cleanings) care I'm comfortable recommending Dr. Bash as he will have little interaction with your child. If your child requires more extensive work, I absolutely do NOT recommend Dr. Bash for all the reasons I previously explained.

The rooms themselves have cute themes - there's a "beach room," a "safari room," etc. We also really love the dentist. He's very professional and incredibly calming with the little ones. It's a shame we can't use this place for our kids' regular dentist appointments because of their absolutely exorbitant pricing. A standard teeth cleaning with x-rays costs $386. A quick search on Yelp shows five other pediatric dentists within 5 miles of this one, so I called all of them and got a price quote on the same service - full cleaning with x-rays. One did not answer the phone, one quoted $293 per kid, one quoted $100 per kid for the 1st visit and $256 for each visit after that, and the other two both quoted $175 per kid. Destination Pediatric is wonderful; it is not twice as good as their competitors, so charging twice as much for their services is absolute insanity. I hope they change their pricing to be more competitive because we would love to return to them.

Hello, I am reaching out regarding my 4-year-old son's…read moredental cap appointment on Tuesday, August 4, because, despite multiple attempts to contact your office directly since the visit, I have been unable to get a response. My son is 4 years old. He was given the Benadryl/diazepam oral sedation mixture but spit it out because he did not like the taste. Rather than allowing additional time to work with him, we were repeatedly told that we were running out of time, including being told that we only had 15 minutes remaining. The interaction felt very rushed and pressured. When he would not take the medication, staff then suggested that my husband hold our 4-year-old son down while they squirted the medication into his mouth. My husband declined because we were not comfortable with that approach to administering medication to our child. We ultimately left without the sedation being successfully completed and without the dental procedure being performed. There was also a concerning medication communication issue during the visit. We were initially told that our son would be receiving Demerol, and only after I questioned this were we told that staff meant diazepam. I am a nurse, and I was particularly concerned to hear that an opioid medication was being referenced as the intended medication for my 4-year-old. Demerol is a medication I am very familiar with through my work in oncology, so hearing one medication and then being told that a different medication was actually intended was concerning, regardless of whether this was a verbal mistake. What is particularly frustrating is that we are now being charged $475 for this visit -- a $100 deposit that was retained, plus an additional $375 charge. My understanding is that the additional $375 charge was because my son spit out the oral sedation. The dental procedure itself was never performed. I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want a clear, itemized breakdown of the $475 we have been charged. I would like to know exactly what each charge represents and what services were actually provided for those charges, including whether they are for medication, staff time, a facility fee, or something else. I would also like copies of all paperwork signed during the visit, including consent forms, treatment forms, and financial/payment agreements, as we were not provided copies at the time. Please also clarify how the $475 already paid/charged will be handled given that my son's dental caps still need to be placed. At this point, based on our experience, we do not feel comfortable returning to the practice for his future dental care, so I would also like clarification regarding any amount that should be refunded or otherwise applied. I have now called the office twice and left two voicemails, and I have also submitted two inquiries requesting a response. I have received no call back or other response, and I have not been provided with an email address through which I can communicate with the office. I am therefore contacting you through Yelp as a last resort simply because I have been unable to get anyone from the office to respond. I would appreciate a written response addressing the $475 charge, the requested itemized breakdown, the paperwork from the August 4 visit, and how the amount already paid will be handled. Thank you, Stephanie
