My friend lives in the area and made the duo appointment for our mani/pedis. The overall quality of the mani/pedi is top notch and more than a week later, it's holding up great. The experience itself was odd to me. Between the mani and pedi I had two nail techs. The same gal that did my toes started my nails then swapped with someone else after preparing my nails for the gel. I had to re-explain to the new tech the style and colors I wanted. She did a great job but being I wanted her to use artistic license on how to incorporate the glitter into my mani, she seemed confused. My friend's pedi was done by two people (same kind of swap that I experienced on my mani) and then she had to wait for my manicure to be completed as they scheduled the same tech doing mine to do hers. The store in general is setup well, color samples in the waiting area, clean space, and relaxing atmosphere. I'd be back and this time would just better anticipate or plan on it taking a little longer than normal. read more

First time customer. Walked in. Lady up front looked at me with annoyance and asked if I had an appointment. I said I don't. She debated for a moment then said we are full. For the whole day??? This place is always amazing! The people are always so nice and friendly. I usually order gel nails, but the black and red ones turned out beautiful! I made an appointment for a Monday evening after work. They are open until 7 PM so that worked out great for my schedule. I was waited on promptly. Everyone was very friendly. For the price you should realize there are going to be some issues. Floor could be cleaned. But stations themselves are very clean. The people that work here are very clean and the utensils they use are clean. Issues include the stale smell of cigarettes, the old equipment, and the lack of conversation. Today I came in with my sister and I was 5 minutes late because of traffic, I called to let them know(better then not letting them know) and when I came in they were so rude the whole time there we didn't even finish our nails. The guy there snatched the card out of my hands and kept giving my sister a nasty look. Two girls there started yelling at me and arguing because I asked them about the price of nail sets incase I don't have enough cash on me they said we were yelling at them and arguing while they were the ones arguing with us and saying we were asking yelling about the price. The guy kicked me out of the salon didn't even let the lady finish my nails at all. He put his hands on me and pushed me out the salon threatening me with calling the police and so I called instead since he was threatening. read more

I have had my nails done at Star Nails several times and I love their attention to detail and I always feel so relaxed when I leave.

This saloon was good, but ALL of the nail techs who were experienced, meticulous and really really good have left. They have a new staff of young girls and an older man. This is a husband and wife team who own this saloon. Unfortunately, they have fallen on the good service. The polish looks old, thick and not updated colors in the OPI line which is the majority of what they use. They no longer use the rzor to get the dead skin off and I feel like I have not had a complete pedicure with bottom and sides of my feet smoothed. The work is rushed, Customers are allowed to spend time soaking before they rush through the pedicure. I say find a new saloon in South County and see what you can get before continuing to give this team your money.. Thank You. read more

I will not be going back. First, I asked for an appointment the following day at10:15 am and they asked if I wanted to come in at 9:30. Why would I want to come in at 9:30 when I specifically asked for a 10:15 am? Then the next day when I went in for my apt the price of what I wanted done went from $30 to $45 within a 15 second conversation. I then had ti change what I wanted done to my nails to fit my budget. They did a pretty decent job on my nails but they didn't let me keep my nails in the UV long enough to dry. By the time I went out to the car all this lint started sticking to them. When I went back inside I asked to use the UV dryer once more since my nails hadn't completely dried. The lady told me that they were dry and they've never experienced this before. I had to insist that my nails weren't completely dry before I could use the UV again. Also the place didn't look like it was well kept with 3 different types of mis-matchef flooring. The customer service was atrocious so they just lost a customer for good! read more

I only go here when I've been given gift certificates. The employees seem distracted and will work on mani and pedi at the time not allowing much relaxation. Also, if a nail gets messed up somehow before you leave they become very rude and sometimes don't even repair it well. Doesn't seem to be worth the money you'd spend. read more
