I was a walk in so I expected to wait, especially on a Saturday. I went over and got a few things at Wal Mart, came back and still waited about 20 mns. Total wait time was 40 mins, that isn't the issue. I got a regular pedicure, the tech was nice and did a good job. However, when I went up to pay, the guy said it was $38, the sign with their prices said $25, and I pointed it out to him. He told me they haven't updated it. I said, "don't you think you should"? He didn't answer me. Had I known a regular pedi was $38, I wound not have gotten it there! I recently moved here from near the city and only paid $30 where I went there! This is Lewisburg, it's not a metropolis! Prices should be lower here. Needless to say, I won't ever go back to Star Nails! read more

Last minute decision since mommy of almost 3 boys never has time to go out. SO happy that I just happened to be in the area for an appointment and needed to find somewhere to take me last minute. Like I said I don't get to do this often so I have a hard time making a decision on what exactly I want. They were so patient with me and kind while helping me when usually I feel a lot of pressure when going to other nail salons. When needing some relaxtion this was the perfect place to stumble upon. The pedicure options are AMAZING and as I sit here getting my "deluxe pedicure" for $45 I am so happy and satisfied with Star Nails and already recommending it as we speak! I had just gotten done with my full-set manicure and my deluxe pedicure and I am beyond satisfied. I didn't get the name of the woman who did my nails but she was so sweet did everything exactly how I liked it and worked with me if I didn't like something. I had an appointment to get an acrylic fill. Initially, I was planning on asking if they could do a pedicure afterwards, but after the service I received I decided to not give them any more of my money. I don't know the name of the nail tech I was given, but she was incredibly rude the entire appointment. I sat down and from the start could tell she did not want to be there. I requested a simple design, a black bow gem on my ring finger and possibly glitter on my middle finger. I had originally asked my tech to sample both the white and black bows for me, so that I could see which I liked best. Either she didn't hear me or blatantly ignored me because she put the black bow on immediately. When I asked her to sample the white the second time, she made a rude and snarky remark that I need to tell her this in the beginning of the appointment so that I don't make her job hard. Last time I checked, I am paying for a service in which I should leave being completely satisfied. I continued to apologize the entire appointment, was overly nice, and tipped very well. I even offered to pay her additional money for the bow mishap. She was rude and seemed inconvenienced the entire time. I was a loyal customer to Star Nails for months and unfortunately they will never have my business again. It's a shame - I hope she doesn't treat all of her clients like this :( read more

I went in for a basic pedicure and eyebrows waxed. I asked for a design on my big toe. My nail tech said that he didn't know how to do a design. The other lady said since I was not getting gel polish, then she couldn't do a design. I never heard of such a thing. I pushed the issue, so my nail tech wanted to put a sticker on my big toe lol. Then he said he would try to paint a flower, and it looked like some child painted on my toe. So I left without a design or getting my eyebrows done. read more

I had a 3 o clock appointment. I requested a specific nail technician, and yet They tried to have 3 different people start and finish my nails!! After 5 my nails were still not finished!! I was only getting a fill. They took several walk ins before me. I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE GIVING THIS PLACE ANY MONEY!! Very poor customer service!! I left with my nails unfinished. Had to wait a day and a half to get in made us a reservation didn't start working on us for45 minutes after the reservation time 1 of us got seated and started the other 2 of us waited meanwhile taking walkins and left us waiting after 1 and half hours I left terrible service then at check out they tried to over charge us till we called them on it.. This was my first time coming here. I was a walk-in and needed some waxing and a pedicure. After a warm greeting, I explained what services i wanted, and was immediately directed to pick a color. Then i was taken to the waxing room. Trish (i believe is here name) did my waxing. My eyebrows look amazing. She was gentle, and asked permission before even touching my face. That was new for me. I thought it was very nice. She did an excellent job. Then i was taken to a chair for a pedicure. The gentleman who did my pedicure was very nice. He explained and discussed with me an issue i was having. He did a great job. My legs feel so good!! I will be using this place when we come to town!! read more

I go here regularly and usually have a good experience. I would advise to call ahead on weekends and request a time because they are usually busy. Also, certain manicurists tend to give pushback when I ask for my nails to be trimmed or shaped a certain way. It's not something I have experienced in any other salon. I'm thinking that maybe it is their own personal lack of expertise but at other salons advice and knowledge would be shared to accomplish what I am asking for (which is nothing too crazy). As a traveling musician, I live on the road most weeks out of the year. This means I'm usually going to a different nail salon every time I need a service. My experience at Star Nails was exceptional. I made an appointment near closing time and they still took me for my pedi and acrylic fill. It was all women working, and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. The tech who did my pedicure was gentle and very detail oriented-so appreciated! My feet were very happy. I usually go to a different salon. But today i decided to try star nails since its close to my work in the hopes that it may become my new salon. The ladies in the salon speak with heavy accents but clear enough to understand, and did talk to each other in theyre own language (it didnt bother me but if that kind of thing bothers you this might not be a great place for you) but did theyre best to give me informative information, the prices were basic and pretty affordable without the sacrifice of quality. Theyre work was fast and efficient, but unlike some other salons ive tried did not affect the quality of my nails or my experience. It all felt very natural. One of the women has a lovely voice and hums while working. The woman i saw, Cammy, did very well, informed me of everything she was doing, and asked me about every step to ensure i was satisfied and did not want it modified. $40 dollars and 30 minutes later i left with a lovely manicure (overlaid acrylic with polish and four nails with art) with pretty nail art for the halloween season and satisfied with the service. Time to find a new nail shop this is the second time I left unsatisfied. I normally go in for a fill and trim. I've been doing this for some time now. The nail tech filed my acrylic all the way down to my real nail and then proceeded to put a thin layer at the top of my nail. Now in all the time that I've been coming here they've never done it that way. So now the tip of my nail is weakened. I asked the manager to look at the nail because this is not the way she has done it in the past. They both proceeded to tell me this is the way that it's supposed to be done. I also didn't ask for a trim this time because my nails were growing out but because she filed the acrylic all the way down to my real nails she said my nails were uneven and she had to follow them down. So now my nails are shorter than I originally wanted them to be. I explained to her that I was not happy with today's service. Oh and know how when you're done they usually put a hot rag on your hands to clean them off and then lotion I received none of that. But that's okay like I said time to find a new nail shop. read more

Today i went here to get a full set of acrylics. I was taken right away, and immediately given colors to choose from. I sat down with a technician, and she prepped my nails (file, cuticles, buffing, etc.) She then put the tips on my nails, shortened them, and began to shape them into almonds, which i asked for. She only was halfway done, with only one hand filed, said she was "on break". I then was transferred to another, much nicer, nail tech. She finished shaping, filing, and buffing the tips. She also made sure it was just the way i liked. The tech put on the acrylics, and then we discussed color. I showed her a picture of what i wanted, and *spoiler alert* it ended up just like the picture. I said i wanted bubblegum pink on my index, middle, and pinky fingers and my ring finger and thumb silver glitter. When she finished, she gave my mother a discount because im 13. It was originally $40 -$30 for full set acrylics -$10 gel polish But i recieved a $5 discount, bringing the total to $35. I loved the tech, and she relieved a $7 tip. Wish i knew her name. read more

I just went here with my friends and the service was awful. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the employee barked at us to pick a polish. Then, I told him that I wanted a french manicure. Well, I don't know what I got, but it definitely was not a manicure. He barely filed my nails, he put little to no lotion on my hands and he completely messed up the manicure. After suffering through the majority of the service, I asked him to take it off and just paint a plain color on my nails, hoping he could do that right. The nail polish came off in chunks, probably from the five coats of polish he put on. I ended up paying for a french manicure, but walking away with regular nail polish. But, at that point, it wasn't worth the hassle, so I let it go. My friends agree that they have had better services elsewhere. I would not recommend this business to any one. read more

Went to take my sister to get her nails polished for the holidays based on past experiences I recommended we go together to get our nails done here. Nothing special just polish on regular nails with a design. My sister was done very quickly I waited however for over an hour and other people came in after me and were waited on before me simply because they were getting acrylic and gel fillins. Well I work just as hard as the next person and just because I'm not spending 25+ dollars to get my nails done doesn't mean that I should be treated as a business transaction and pushed to the back of the line! thanks for wasting an hour of my life I'll never get that time back nor will I come back. read more

Tina was amazing! I loved the experience. First time there. Tina wanted to make sure that she knew how I liked my nails to look. Very attentive. She was quick without rushing, and did not scratch or cut my fingers. She wasn't rough with my hands or fingers either. It was a wonderful experience. My hands and I both felt very pampered. Not only the staff (especially Tina) but the other customers were very friendly. Nice atmosphere. Clean area. Pleasant environment. I would very much recommend this place to everyone. No one aggravated my anxiety at all while there. Prices were good. At first glance slightly high, but definitely worth every penny with the quality of work. I love the way my nails look. read more

Four of us went here to have a pedicure. We are from NY and on a short weekend get away and had no idea where to go to have our nails done. With not having any luck elsewhere, we decided to check in at our hotel and they told us about Star nails that was close by. We decided to go and they took us right in with no appointment (they were even busy). We all decided to go for the gusto and get the "full deluxe with hot stone treatment" pedicure. While the four of us were all sitting there enjoying our massages, out walked one of the women and handed us each a glass of wine with an orange in it. We were having the most relaxing, best time ever. I don't think we all laughed so hard in a long time. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely return when we come back to the PA area again. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!! I spent $22 on a full set, gave a $6 tip and within 5 days one of my nails broke! (because the acrylic was too thin!) So I went back that day and paid the $3 fee to have it fixed and even then I gave a $1 tip, when i shouldnt have even had to pay at all. The next day 2 more nails broke (not even a week after getting my set). I went back there to see what they could do and alls they offered me was a new set... BUT I HAD TO PAY $20!! I was told by the owner that they only guarantee that the nails will last 3 days! I didnt spend $30 for my nails to last 3 days! This place is horrible!! and their customer service sucks! Went for a deluxe pedicure ($35) and they did a nice job. The woman who did it took her time with the massage and the polish. The staff was nice and friendly, and chatted with me but weren't pushy.
