I spent a lot of money (+$80) and time so that my hands can get butchered and polish be misplaced. Nothing about my manicure or pedicure deserved any stars. I really tried to remain calm and patient with the elderly woman who tried her best. At the end of the visit I expressed my concerns and they said sorry and didn't try to make the situation better. A group of girls wanted to look at my hands as I was leaving as a reference point of their services and they all also agreed and left. I have been going to Star Nails for over 10 years recently a new owner took over the place is a disaster now I would not recommend it to anyone had an appointment for Saturday morning at 9 a.m. when I went in there they said I didn't have an appointment and could I come back later cuz they only had to techs working today on a Saturday every single employee that worked there for all the years I've been going there quit because of the new owner I was extremely disappointed today also the new owner is very unfriendly doesn't even thank you on your way out the door so I left and told him I would never be back and went to the Dania Spa on Federal Highway in Dania Beach it was a great experience read more

The worst I have ever seen. I have been here a few times. Today was my last. Not only do my nails look terrible, they hurt. The feet are also horrendous. Arrived yesterday because I needed my nails done badly for umf. Service was super fast Paul did a good and fast job with my gel manicure. It was a little pricey than what I am use to at home. Only thing I would say is that he didn't oil my cuticles or applied lotion on my hands afterwards but that's fine. My gel mani took 30 mins, usually I would be annoyed if the nail tech was rushing but in this case, I am glad that he did such a good job at such a short amount of time because I was on a time crunch lol. Very convenient to me so it became my 'go to' place but I've had to give up and go elsewhere - I walk in about half-hour after opening, there is maybe one tech in there who looks up (no smile, no real greeting, just a look), I greet them happily and tell them what service I'm looking for. Basically, I get no response. I stand around waiting, I can hear the nail techs talking in the back, but no one comes out. I ask 'how long?' and the one nail tech tells me '10 minutes'. Conveniently located in the same shopping center as the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Store, Dollar Store and Aquarius on Sheridan Street. So I thought I would give it a try. Manicure Pedicure pick out your color and sit in chair number. You know the drill. Usually always feet first. What was special about this place even though I was probably the last guest of the night for this manucurist she did not rush and paid attention to details. Nice pedicure and the color looked great on my toes. Next manicure same attention to detail no feeling rushed. Both hands and feet looked great and still do. As you know the true test is when you leave how it holds up. Was the nail polish to thick or did it smudge? Now for $32. It was great. Star Nails is a place that works better during the weekdays; and the reason I say this is because the first time I went there, It was a Saturday, and It was crowded, to the point there was people standing waiting. but even though you can get attended by one of the staff to get your manicure or pedicure, they would do it in a rush or really bad job ( and I can't even imagined the women who go there to do their nails, but to the end they get a bad job done because of the rush of the staff). But I went a Thursday, and the experience was totally different from that Saturday I went. there was not a lot of people, So that meant they would take their time to do what you ask for. In both cases I went it was for an ingrown toenail. Amy (or Tamy, I quite don't remember her name) was the staff member who help me and she did quite good job. Star Nail is really affordable for what I got, which it was the regular service of Manicure & Pedicure. but definitely go weekdays or weekend but with appointments. read more

Went in on Friday evening. Girl "D" was training and very nice and personable, but older lady did my pedicure. When I got home I discovered that 2 toes' polish messed up and she didn't push cuticles back. Also edges of toenails were unpolished. I called Kim Saturday a.m. to see when I can come in to get them repainted. She started taking polish off of only toe with messed up polish. I asked that she repaint them all. She replied with, "that would be a repolish" I took it exactly how she said it, as if she intended to charge me for a repolish. So, I said, "I spent over $40 in here yesterday and I'm not paying anymore money." She said, I didn't say I was going to charge you!" I said then why did you say it would be a repolish? I know it's a repolish, since that's what I asked for over the phone. Awkward, now I'm sitting here and she's painting my toes in silence. I will never come back here. Not only that, it's hot and they have the doors open. She put me in a chair where the massage feature is broken. I said, "what about that vacant chair?" And she said, "I didn't clean that one yet". Every time i get someone new, thats their default if your a walk-in which most customers do, and all the techs do their job correctly, 100%. If you have an issue like in grown nails or sensitive skin, just tell them. Its amazing that they will remember for next time. The employees keep to themself, there is very little talking. Tech. didn't turn on the water, didn't put my sandals back on. Went to pay for what I believed was a $27.00 fee and was charged $32.00! When I asked why was told I picked a "long lasting color." Did you ever hear of such a thing. This dude pointed to a hand-written sign above the cash register, noting this, which I'd not seen as I selected the color at the opposite end of the store where there was NO SIGN. It's sly, and deceptive. I told him I never saw or was verbally told about the difference in nail color price. He made no attempt to keep me as a customer so I said, I can see why your store is so empty of customers and I will not return. These people have competition, I have choices so do you.
